i def have a good idea of where it went wrong and how to react should something like that happens again. It may have been possible to get alliances with everyone, then declare war on the navs, dragging everyone in with me forcefully.
get high approval, bump taxes and have trade routes. or have a wealth world. or all of the above. watch the maintenance costs on starbases and building, they stack quick. Or ignore it like me and just sell stuff to keep afloat xD
