The quality of games and players is excellent. The Chinese Olympic warm up might actually be better than the Olympics. They are just better than everyone else at this sport. Don't hate just enjoy and congratulate. Ma Long Goat!!!

How many generations of players has it been where the Chinese Trials or the National Games have been more intense than the Olympics for TT. I do however, have some hope for the mixed doubles as I do believe the Taiwanese have a legitimate chance to win in Tokyo

Well, the Olympics is probably among the weakest tournaments in professional table tennis (in terms of the quality of the players in the draw). This is because of the need to represent many nations (with a max of 2 for each nation). For top Chinese players, the real difficulty is grabbing one of those 2 spots.

Ma Long is almost back at 2015 level, I think he has an amazing shot at a double grand slam.
Compare to his prime he lost some speed and power but with more variation and small techniques. I am just happy to see him still try to improve his game at age of 32.

Shivam K. I dont know it's just me but I actually enjoy this nerfed version of him more. Prime Ma Long could just easily beat his opponent with his powerful and consistent forehand.
I have to admit I wanted to see LJK facing ML or FZD again.

I won't be too sure if Fan can beat Ma now. I think Ma is getting back into his 2017 form. If they are playing the Olympic games or the WTTC tournament now, I have no doubt that Mr. Ma will win them all again.

i only started watching table tennis april 2019, i cant believe its been over a year and so much change has happened, at the time i had no idea how great it was that ma long won the world championship, but now i see how important these wins are

The golden age of Chinese table tennis will probably be over after Ma Long retires given the level of talent we see coming up now from the Chinese team. The Chinese will still be dominant for sure but not like they were.

太棒的比赛了。马龙回到一哥的感觉，大头有将来一哥的感觉。估计世界各国乒乓球队看到都心痒痒的。中国乒乓队真的是很优秀的团体！
馬龍很穩，這場比賽看出傷病應該恢復不少，很接近15-16年的巔峰。
王楚欽也很不錯，感覺只是經驗問題，有時候看出來打得比較衝，不過都只是時間問題。

This is the match of the year so far. Both in good shape, amazingly sharp shots, great skills. Still, I would have loved to see the Singles champion Liang Jingkun play in this Final since his performance was phenomenal this tournament.
Wang won a lot of sensational rallies but lost in the end. Wang should learn from Fan Zhendong's mistakes: never try to win Ma Long by just shear technical superiority.

Is it just me or does it look like WCQ doesn't really toss the ball, more like lifts his arm and drops it as his arm is rising? Not necessarily on all the serves, but many of them. See 10:56 for example.
At 10:56, indeed it seems as if he raised his arm, tossed minutely and served. 😀
When he was trailing in game 3, he started this illegal serve. This is tricky and bad practice.
His serve does get called out for something at 14:32
@@loopkill Yep, the umpire says "not vertical" on that one. When he tosses the ball he often tosses it into his body (but many players do this). But I haven't seen many players do the "barely toss" serve! :)
But he started the illegal serve in the 2nd half of game 3 and the umpire did not warn him until game 4. He almost did not throw the ball at all. He was dropping it.

Ma was too good. So up for this. Hardly missed a ball. Wang Chuqin is probably not used to being pressured like this in the rallies. He has a bigger stroke. Ma is more efficient.

就靠战术也能赢球，不算堪忧
这场相持球基本都在中近台的位置 因此考验速度 拼速度恰好是王楚钦的优势 所以老马龙很难在中近台拼速度赢王楚钦
另一个因素是。 马龙机会起板的球大多不进入相持，王楚钦较少背动下守住后转攻。 相反，王楚钦起板常常马龙守一下进入相持。不少这类相持球上实际上是王的点更靠前， 这些稍有优势下的相持赢得多也应该。
