Josh Beasley Hello Josh, I am currently a freshman in high school. I am wondering do colleges look at the GPA from each year of high school or an average of every year combined? Also, this summer I am writing science children’s book at Temple University and I am wondering if this will look good on my resume. Lastly, I love your videos and they have been very motivational and helpful to my mother and I. I told my mother that I would do whatever it takes to get into an Ivy League school and your videos have been very beneficial to this goal of mine. I hope to meet you one day. Josh i’ve been following your journey for a few months now and can i just say you’re an amazing creator and you inspire many others. i’m currently a freshman in high school and am soon going to enter sophomore year next year where all my classes are going to get harder with most of my classes leveled up to honors and ap’s. watching creators like you and others makes me want to be where you are and makes me want to exceed in school. thanks for the great videos as always! 👍🏼👍🏼
Well... sophomore year is ending so rip all of this - I mean I'm good considering my GPA and class load, but extracurricular wise I pretty much failed whoops (I don't have 0, I have a few, they're just generic xD)

I’m a sophomore and you had the same classes that I have except Spanish instead of French and Wind Ensemble instead of chamber 😂
There's good advice here, but everybody has different experiences. Freshmen and sophomore year, although only having one AP, were definitely the hardest years for me. By junior year I was used to everything!

Hey Josh, as a rising Senior in high school heavily considering majoring in computer science, one thing I’ve seen lacking in all of the vlogs I’ve looked at has been what is actually needed for college technology wise. I was wondering if you could cover that in a video and see if we need both a PC and a laptop for college and what we need to bring with us. Hopefully you can cover that thank you. Love your videos btw keep it up!

Hi Josh. I really lime your videos!!! They've teach me a lot during this past few weeks. I'll be starting junior year in high school in this next August. I have a question: When should I take my first SAT test? And how many tests would be a good number when aplying to Yale?
I have the same courses except instead of French 2 I’m taking Spanish 2 and I’m in the bottom orchestra 😅 I’m most nervous about my ec’s because the only one I’d say im okay at is piano, so im not really sure about what to do, especially if I should focus on getting better at my other ec’s like tennis and viola which im not great at.
Need this video when my bio grade is 92.96%. So close to A.

Hey josh appreciate the videos, I'm from souther California (LA area) and plan on visiting Yale in July and also attending one of Yale's football camps because one of the coaches had contacted me and urged me to go. I was wondering if you had any advice for specific places to visit when I go? That and if you could ask someone on the football team what their camps are like/what I should expect, thank you and keep up the good work!

Hey Josh, is Algebra 2 required in order to study computer science in college? Also, can you please list the mathematics classes that are required? Because my high school won’t let me take precalculus until junior year because of how their system works. Also would it hurt my chances if I only take AP Calculus A.B.? My high school doesn’t offer AP Calculus B.C. Thanks Josh!
I know I’m not josh but taking Precal junior year is totally normal and taking Calc ab senior year is good and won’t hurt your chances. I would think algebra 2 would be required just to get in college. Looking at some college websites the courses in a CS degree have high levels of math (discrete mathematics, linear algebra, etc).
I'm a freshman and I'm finishing off the year with only about a 3.72-3.84 gpa weighted. This is due to slacking the first semester💀 would it be possible to raise it to a 4.0? I'm doing ap world history and pre calculus next year. It's gonna be a busy year 😂
Ian K B+s are 4.0. At my school a 97 is a 4.0 in a regular class. Getting over an 87 in an AP class isn't that easy

Hey John I would really like to know your opinion. I have a 1470 on my SAT (790 math/ 680 english). Do you think improving it to a 1500 for example is worth it or will unis see it as the same?

Hey Josh, great vid man. I got a question, freshmen year I got hit with a final overall grade of a B in Honors English but sophomore year I have increased a lot by getting straight A’s. Do you think the B in freshmen year english can really hurt me getting into a top school even if I continue getting straight A’s in junior year? (BTW I have been taking 1 AP course freshmen and sophomore year and plan to really challenge myself with 5 next year)
Elite Claw I think because of the upward trend in your transcript, colleges won’t care too much about the one B in freshman year. However, do keep your extracurriculars and interests strong, and don’t stress out about an Year which some top colleges don’t even pay attention to. Also, sorry for answering this- I know I’m not josh, but I thought I could help.
I wish my school offered more than 5 AP classes, but all I can do is take the hardest classes I can and do good in them
