The greatest defensive boxer of all time (in my opinion.) I've been watching quite a few of Locche's fights again recently and wanted to highlight his bout against Paul Fuji it's a masterclass in boxing 101. www.patreon.com/haNZAgod
@ legend n yeah not many people know him... He was humble suburbian fellow ended updoing volunteer work in libraries etc He was asked many times coach but said he would never teach kids . young fellows boxing
Brilliant video, nicolino is one of my favourite boxers of all time, he had excellent head movement & timing, all set up behind his jab. He's a boxer by definition, somebody that has the ability to outbox their opponent, the fact that he has so many decision wins is remarkable. People often look at the knockouts, but having the ability to outbox somebody for over half an hour and win by decision time & time again is very impressive.
Yeah, sometimes I like the idea of a guy who's a supreme boxer, but he really doesn't like hurting people...so he just gives them little taps to score...
JockoBarbone I would rather punch myself the face than fighting someone like that. It’s extremely frustrating going against a fighter with that style and technique
Thank you for making these compilations of all these great fighters with amazing skills. So many go underappreciated and forgotten despite the fact that their abilities were so unique. Not only does no one else on UA-cam make them, but you are helping people discover footage of things they would never otherwise be able to see.
Hamza Khaliq: LIGHTSOUT TONEY!!! No1 can fight in the pocket or be smooth in any other range like he can. Picks people apart in his sleep. James Toney is the greatest defensive fighter of all time.
NZWarriorNation Paes How do you explain the greatest defensive fighter of all time losing in his prime to “Ice” Griffin? Toney is no doubt an all timer, but I can’t agree that he’s the greatest. I’d take Pea and Mayweather over him from a purely defensive standing. I would argue that Hopkins was better technically and certainly in terms of longevity, but Lights Out was a Jules Winfield (Bad MF’er).
Mikhael G real slick inside or out,the kind of defense that can bring it to you or take a step back and draw you in and unleash a vicious punch combo, always entertaining guarantee to learn something every time you saw him fight, one of the greatest of all time over Whitaker and over Floyd on skill level could be careless at times because he was so gifted he often took his gifts for granted it happens to even the great ones, defensive Genius Bar None and actually got a late start in boxing if you can believe it was actually going to be a football player just pure natural raw talent James lights out Toney👊👊
As you're Argentinian, I'm curious to learn how long-time junior-welterweight contender Carlos María Giménez is viewed there. What do people think of him?
Thanks for getting back! I'm interested in your opinion, too. Unfortunately I've only found footage of his second fight with Cervantes. How do you rate Giménez?
I'm interested to know how highly you'd rate his Latin American opposition. Did he beat many/any outstanding fighters? And do you think he'd be a world champion in more recent eras?
@@tricheh2323 the guy did not like violence he preferred to drive his opponents crazy without hitting them. He also smoked between the breaks and never trained.
I could watch this man all day long. Unbelievable style and his record speaks for itself. If I was a boxer, this is the style I would adopt. Or a mix between Locche, Prince Nassem Hamed or Emanuel Augustus styles. They were extremely successful at frustrating the opponent and getting under their skin. I’m surprised we don’t see this more often. It’s a very effective technique
Highlights of Rodolfo 'El Gato' González's performance in winning the lightweight title from Chango Carmona might be worth putting together! He was an excellent fighter, and the greatest 'missed opportunity' for Duran in the early 70s.
You make the BEST Boxing Video's "haNZAgod" and I think: Nicolino Locche, Pernell 'Sweet Pea' Whitaker & Willie Pep are the 3 Finest Defensive GURU's I've EVER Seen Footage of or watched LIVE, respectfully. #LoccheLegend!
Great vid as usual, haNZA. I'd like to mention the man who helped Nicolino to become a legend in boxing: the great Paco Bermúdez (trainer, mentor and almost a father for him).
He's obviously very relaxed in the ring with great reflexes...but you would have to watch in slow motion to exactly see what made him so slippery and hard to hit...
Nicolino Locche is one of the All-Time greats. His feel for incoming punches is unmatched. He was a master boxer. His shoulder roll is on par with Floyd Mayweather. He should be mentioned in the same level of defensive boxers as a young Muhammud Ali, Gene Tunney, Pernell Whitaker, Willie Pep, Billy Conn, James Corbett, Peter Jackson, Kid Chocolate, and Wilfredo Benitez. I realize that I'm probably missing some, but this is a great top 11.
Comparing gayweather with locche are you crazy gloves material weight with a record of 40 to 50 pro fights against 136 as pro with just 4 lost and in that case you can compare mayweather to locche instead not the other way around 🤣🤣🤣 clearly mayweather style is a copy cat since locche fought way back and was head of his time
