And she died three and a half months later, my best memory of Janis was seeing her at the Fillmore East and singing until 4 am during the second show. I was smart enough to go to both shows that night and I'll never forget the impact she had on me. One of a kind, the best that ever was.

Janis will always be my favorite person as an artist she always kept it chill and real, its a shame so many artists have been dying of drugs, alcohol and suicide because they are so hyper sensitive to feelings you can tell by hearing them because they sing with true convictions and they don't focus on what people expect them to be, or perfectly toned, you can literally hear and feel the emotions in all the flaws just make them unbeatable because that's what made them incredible.

Being able to watch this great talent some 40 years after her untimely death just makes me happy that UA-cam has done such a great job letting the World to still be able to see and watch Janis perform, it also makes me somewhat sad remembering how young she was when she OD'ed. We will never know how much more she could have brought to the world of music. I was lucky enough to see Janis in Concert in Jan.'70, it's a concert I'll never forget. The emotion and power she brought to her performance's is still remarkable even today.

That line: "We may not be here tomorrow..." I had to replay that to make sure I heard her right. Presently, I am 27, and to know that she didn't make it past that age is a mind scramble. Of course, people die every day of all age groups - no one is exempt. But the very thought "get it while you can" is so real and ironic given this short amount of time she had left. It's good advice for us all, really. To live. We've only got one life, and although some of us will be here longer than others, the changes we make and the grounds we break are what counts. RIP Janis.

Janis struggled with H and Southern Comfort. Several of her contemporaries fell victim to drugs as well...Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison come to mind. Somehow Keith Richards survived.

*This is my favorite 'Janis' moment as well!*
Even this late in her (short) life; She still had that _'vulnerable, little-girl'_ look on her face AFTER a performance.
When she was singing; *She was the best!*
    Ballsy, beautiful & taking chances!
When it was over she always looked..... _'insecure'._
    *What a Pearl!*
    *Rock On!*

Man Oh Man, The Great Janis Joplin. What a powerful, unique voice. Janis, you sang the lyrics of a generation that needed your music and we still need your music today. Your rare beauty, and mystique even more attractive. Your music, your voice and stage persona are the elements that we were attracted to - "JANIS JOPLIN THE GREAT ENTERTAINER". You left us all too soon; but you and your legacy will never be forgotten period. All of your songs take me back to a place in time, where time stood still, even if it were for that one moment in time. Thank You Janis for sharing your music and your beautiful voice. Many years later, and we, your fans, still miss you. 💞💕💖💞💕💖

At the end there is a strange hesitant fear in her eyes as if she was wondering if they liked her. As strong as her stage presence was she still seemed unsure of herself, like us all. I think her vulnerability and willingness "let it all hang out" and to be herself is what made her so good.
