Not having all the dinosaurs available on the dlc is seriously killing me right now. Blew me away that they didnt unlock after doing the missions. Makes the island feel like a pointless back drop to the new missions. Still holding hope I get em for 5 staring it but I'm not to hopeful. I think u just unlock the truck tour for the other islands
They could have built in "solitary" genes into the Nublar dinos so they didn't get fussy being alone if you chose to rescue them. That's always been a gripe of mine with all of the "House these X and Y species together in these quantities" missions. They set it up so you almost always have to put inmore than what is displayed if you dont have access to the population genes.
Yup, when they ask me to do stuff, I'm always like, "Don't you have access to the same information about these dinosaurs as I do?!" Still enjoying this game, just got the DLC not too long ago!
I really enjoyed the DLC! I didn’t bother with the achievements but I needed the drivable tour and thus spent forever getting 5 stars on sanctuary. 10/10 I really REALLY like the tour and the alberto, like really like them. Unnaturally obsessed.
@@jacksklazy7672 it's the fact each island is like a wall. Each layer is the wallpaper. Our landscaping brush is a remover to a cer degree. You want sand? Play on islands that have it because actually digitally adding sand without corrupting all save files is going to be hell. It's not like buying sand at Wal-Mart or Home depot. This is literally programming it into a game without destroying all save files
Yeah thats what I didn’t understand, the sanctuary in jwe goes completely against what sanctuary is supposed to be in the jurassic world lore. But,at the same time it’s understandable because of just how the game is made to be.
Here are a few ideas that Frontier might want to incorporate for a possible patch update/DLC for Claire's Sanctuary or Jurassic World Evolution 2: First Nublar North: -A substantial time limit for player to complete all missions/accomplishments. This gives a sense of realism and impending doom in which the eruption of Mt. Sibo is like a ticking time bomb. Maybe if all missions for Nublar North aren't completed in time, you have to restart. -a larger variety and amount of dinosaurs you can transport to sanctuary, so that the social need of each individual species can be met. -A better ending cinematic for both an unsuccessful ending and a successful ending. Next Sanctuary: -The player should have access to all chosen dinosaurs transported from Nublar North to Sanctuary and their DNA/Fossil Material. More dinosaurs should be available as they progress or if they have achieved specific tasks on either island. -The player should have the ability to transport dinosaurs from the other island (Matanceros, Muerta, Tacano, Sorna, etc.) to Sanctuary. -Sanctuary should have either more space to build or separate areas. -Sanctuary should be treated less like a Theme Park and more like a wildlife preserve, think Site B from JPOG. -Certain buildings such as most Guest and a few Operations buildings should not be available. -The only people in the park should be security and scientists. -Fencing should be optional. -Money should be generated through missions, achievements, selling fossils, donations, etc. Unlimited money, such as in Sandbox mode, should either be a last minute option or available if a separate area of Sanctuary become a second Sandbox mode.
I hoped it would be a sanctuary where the dinosaurs would roam freely and breed, and carnivoures attacking the herbivores. The Herbivores would eat the natural plant growth, and truck, helicopter and gyrosphere tours would make the money. I hope the next update will include crocodiles and flying reptiles.
U know, i was hoping to actually see Mount Sibo to erupt after we safe the dinosaurs. That animation per se, would've taken it over the top. Love the DLC either way
I personally had fun with the "cure all the dinos" mission. Didn't find it boring in the slightest. I can get behind most of your other opinions about it, though.
There’s just something about the Albertosaurus that I really love and I feel it’s one of if not the best dlc carnivore Frontier have designed. It’s definitely a great designed Dinosaur from Jpog of old.
Personally I thoroughly enjoyed the DLC and I use the Paleobotany on Nublar because it's fun planning enclosures based on it, plus I like the idea of feeding the dinosaurs the foods they has in the past. Frontier needs to do something similar with the carnivores, have multiple types of meat options that they crave, like, are neutral to, and can harm them and they give life and prestige bonuses.
I am not sure what kinds of meat would be toxic for some carnivores versus others. But I have been thinking of a Ranch building, which could grow steers, a large bird (like emu or ostrich), sawfish, and/or crustaceans to resupply these special carnivore feeders: *1.) Fresh Steer Meat Dispenser -* Acts like the regular meat feeder, but also supplies carnivores with the entire carcass, including the horns and bones, for dinosaurs that enjoy eating thick chunks of marrow such as T-Rex. *2.) Live Steer Feeder -* Acts like the JPOG cow only the bovine will provide additional nutrients for marrow-eating carnivores, as mentioned before, and the steer will try to fight back against small carnivores. So live steers at least may not be the best choice to feed weaker small carnivores. *3.) Poultry Dispenser -* Provides bird meat that would be more satisfying to carnivorous dinosaurs, whose main preference is eating any kind of meat from other dinosaurs, rather than mammal meat all the time. *4.) Live Bird Feeder -* Dispenses a large bird like emu or ostrich to combine the appeals of the poultry dispenser and the default goat feeders for certain dinosaurs. The animation for carnivores killing these birds can be almost identical to how they kill Ornithomimids. *5.) Artificial Nest -* The feeder supplies eggs collected from the same large birds at the ranch (or it could just be regular chicken eggs). This provides enrichment and nutritional benefit to small carnivores used to raiding the nests of other dinosaurs for food. *6.) Sawfish Feeder -* Acts like the regular fish feeder, only it will be especially pleasing to piscivores like Spinosaurus. However, smaller piscivores (like if Austroraptor maybe got added) could wind up getting hurt trying to wrestle those big fish out of the feeder to eat. *7.) Crustacean Feeder -* Acts like the regular fish feeder, only dinosaurs that naturally eat crustaceans will get more benefits. As an added bonus, Hadrosaurs could also eat the crabs, crayfish, etc. from those feeders, as a reference to that one Hadrosaur fossil found, with evidence of crab consumption.
I actually think I enjoyed Wu's better, I didn't like how restricted we were on Sanctuary, I did enjoy the DLC though don't get me wrong, can't wait to build an actual sanctuary instead of a park. Didn't like how we were limited to 12 / 13 dinos on Sanctuary, and not all were canon either and because I knew I was limited I didn't care too much for making sanctuary nice or take my time. I will have to make a perfect sanctuary with more dinos and more options available to me in challenge mode which is abit silly I think. Paleobotany is a decent mechanic though and I enjoy the truck tour alot. I hope the fabled JP TLW 1993 DLC is more thought out.
The low dino count bugs me so much I cant even tell you. Makes the entire island feel hallow. Literally it's only point was to serve as a backdrop for the new missions and introducing the greenhouse........ makes me so mad. Such a waste. All this hype over a new island and they do this.
@@loganbarton8789 It's a shame really is and only saving a max of 8 dinos is abit of a joke, il make a true sanctuary in challenge mode on easy that will be miles better.
I know I'm responding to an old video but I couldn't resist. I personally don't really like this DLC it's boring and frustrating as hell; got to mission 2 or 3 and gave up because I was forced to accept the incoming carnivores and I just wasn't ready for them as I was in the middle of doing something else. It wasn't fun either trying to cure the sealed off Stigy while at the same time dealing with rampaging, diseased Stegos. I guess I'll never get access to the Dino's in Claire's Sanctuary (like the Compsognathus which I partially unlocked during the main campaign) because quite simply I hate it. Personally I prefer The Secrets Of Doctor Wu because I didn't mind helping him and I do like the Hybrids dinosaur you unlock. I also like the fact that you can tamper with Habitat and Social in the modification section. Plus you can just do it at your own pace and not worry about some invisible timer.
The content is amazing... some added variety in game-play and realism, but as you said... thin in amount. It's definitely a positive step in game care.
the first thing i did was go to sand box it was surprisingly fun designing the park from a paleobotany perspective especially if you build 2 green houses because you get to experience really tailoring each exhibit for the animals in it. i wish frontier wouldve allowed you to do in on the other islands instead of just sand box overall i really liked this dlc and it was less of a pain in the ass than dr wu
I mainly bought it for the new dinosaurs and the truck tour. The paleobotany is such a convoluted and punishing system in its execution that it really isn't worth using in a sandbox setting, and depending on your individual island budget, questionable in the main campaign. Also, enhanced food only benefits the herbivores and the carnivores don't get the same treatment, which might have made me more eager to experiment with a paleo-food system. But it simply doesn't work for creative purposes. On Nublar's sandbox, I group my dinosaurs in exhibits by formations/whether or not they lived in the same approximate time/area together. The paleobotany system would disrupt that to no end. It would force a restructure to where only certain dinosaurs could live together since they don't distinguish which feeders hold their preferred food. If they did, it wouldn't be an issue.
The Jurassic Tour Bus is a lot of fun I agree you can finally see inside the bus and get a better feel but also you can also make a tour around multiple pens which is drastically different better than the gyrosphere
Does any one know if we eventually unlock the rest of the digsites on sanctuary? That's the biggest thing that bothers me. It's like we got this nice new island that's so barren with only 11 species available.....
Honest opinion here; the DLC lacked further story and was relatively short. While I did enjoy the new maps, dinosaurs, tour truck and plant biome it was still not enough to feel like 15$ US dollars was worth it. Dr. Wu’s DLC was much more fulfilling and had new genetics that helped all the dinosaurs. Unlike the new plant biome only affected herbivores.
The part with the 60 dinosaurs was actually fun for me, because I didn't cared about the achievement, so i build as much ranger stations as i could and with every max task and jeepy, i sended of like 10 or 12 of them at the same time. That also manged me to make it fully automatic, i had only to click like 3 dinosaurs after all of them where done.
What i have to say that i think is you should allow to place more garden for paleao botanik, because also logically, a Zoo would plant as much as possible for there dinosaurs as They could, because i personally find it annoying that you have to switch around the plants, having one garden fot each species you could place would be nice. Also to note, as i replaced rotten would, and esc out of it, my game would freeze and crash, multiple times.
Keep holding onto that hope bud. Another placement was put for a new DLC on that DLC list thing that's online for Jurassic World Evolution, SteamDB I think it's called. We got a carnivore pack, we'll possibly get a herbivore pack. Pachyrhinosaurus and Chronosaurus were found in the game's files, so those two are probably in the pack. I'm also hoping Therizinosaurus will be that crazy mystery dinosaur Frontier has teased several times.
I’ve loved it so far. Although I did have the Dino that died out of the blue and made me restart my island. That did piss me off. Luckily everything I had researched remained unlocked so that did help me catch back up quickly.
Yeah that happened to me! I was on the third mission and an Ankylosaurus which I rescued died and it failed the mission. I can’t restart the mission and now I’ve gotta restart the whole island.
Yea I think I was setting up some plants in my greenhouse. The dead dinosaur icon popped up and then it was mission failed restart island. I was like what the hell just happened it came out of nowhere. I was pissed. My island was doing great money wise and sweet ass enclosures from the new tools. So when I restarted I would stay dead focused on the mission. Then when the next one would start I would focus on my building before I brought the new Dino into my park
I don't care for these storyline DLCs. The plot is thin yes, but that's not why. I'm just not interested in manually using the Jeep or Helicopter and taking pictures with them or worrying over a Spinoraptor I can't tranq. I like to limit stuff like that as much as possible. I would prefer to just buy the Jeep tour and new dinos and play the Campaign again. But of course I buy all the DLCs. I'd feel like I was missing out otherwise. I want all the dinosaurs and such. However, I bought this game to design parks, contain the dinosaurs, and 5 star them. I like the Zoo Tycoon feeling. And all the DLC storylines do for me is give me a headache more than Isla Pena ever did.
Mandatory post to remind everyone that BiS did not save a Brachiosaurus. I really don't get how did it end up becoming another park builder campaign. It could easily have been a JPOG Site B mission where you focus on making the dinos happy and on the botany system. Also, I've read somewhere before that bony protrusions on dinosaur skulls could have been covered in a thick layer of keratin which would have made them larger in life so I think big eyebrows on Albertosaurus could be accurate. I'm pretty happy with the prestige system as well, extending lifespan is enough for me. I do hope they implement a prestige system for carnivores in future updates.
Honestly for me, best moment of playing the new campaign was driving a Jeep through Isla Nublar North. That feeling of driving through a LONG terrain of wild Dino’s brought back memories of watching JP2 as a kid. They should have removed the population need at least for the Nublar Dino’s you transport. I kinda understood their reasoning for making the Sanctuary profitable, no way to provide care for animals that no longer belong on the Earth without all that moola.
I do agree the DLC was short but sweet. I was expecting more in terms of the theme. I wanted to see a down to the wire mission where the threat of Sibo reached down to having to avoid lava or volcanic ash flows through out the map. Yes the misty fog and camera shakes did add a nice touch but was too subtle. As for Sancutary I do agree that rebuilding a new park was off. I was hoping for more of a Science or preserve style area. Wouldn't it be cool to rebuild Site B style faciliies that focused more on keeping an eye the animals welfare and enrichment. Maybe shake things up with making The Fossile zone or educational buildings are more important. I also wonder what happened to the other islands during this timeline as well. Maybe volcanic threat could be a nother challenge to deal with instead of just the storms. While I do agree that the spinosaurid changes, decor and terrain painting as a free update was the best choice. it could been bundled in away to fit the theme, but overall i did enjoy it despite how short it was.
I focused solely on the DLC and haven't properly looked at the free patch yet. I too was underwhelmed with Claire's Sanctuary, there just wasn't enough of it and don't know how much more we'll get with Zoo around the corner.
Very well said. I enjoyed this review. I'm picking up the game today. I didn't think it was going to be a big expansion, but I love JWE and I really love Frontier. I'm hoping for better DLC in the future.
I agree - DLC is fine and fun for fans of the game, but the 1.8 update is a bigger deal to more casual gamers. Access to Sanctuary (now probably my favorite island alongside Tacano) for challenge mode would be the deciding, up/down issue for me in making a recommendation or not to others. As BIS mentioned, the actual offerings (paleo food, truck tour, new dinos) are cool but not themselves worth it, especially since the early missions in the campaign on Nublar North are just not very fun to play through: 6.5/10. For reference, I gave Dr. Wu a 4/10. Though the unlocks and updates with Dr. Wu (behavior modification) were awesome and, literally, game-changing, playing through the campaign missions was not very fun.
I liked the DLC! Agreed it had moments of drag time, but over all my experience was positive and worth it. Love your videos & cant wait to see your next sandbox park with update 1.8 and the DLC content in full effect!!!
My reasons that make me buy the 2 main DLCs of the game - Dr Wu DLC: genes that help you put your dinosaurs in small enclosures and with more social limit - Claire DLC: jurassic tour
eh, i mean yeah it's overpriced but I'm having fun. There's just one game breaking gameplay thing that ruins it for me a bit which is one of my mission dinosaurs aging out and dying and me having to restart over and over again.
I wanted more of an impact with the volcano,....like show the lava flowing slowly, falling rocks or something,...you don't need to give us a timer on the screen but anything to show more emphasis
I plan on doing a fresh playthrough of the entire game just as I did when the Wu DLC came out, starting with the Claire DLC. It’s detached enough from the main game to treat it like a prequel of sorts. Save the dinosaurs (all 8 of them) and then do the main campaign building up a new Jurassic franchise on the islands, playing the Wu content last
Here’s my guide to which 8 species you should consider saving for the Claire’s Sanctuary DLC: First, some general information. The 3 theropods (Albertosaurus, Carnotaurus & Baryonyx) available during the Nublar North portion of the DLC, only have the Null-Cosmetic Gene. All the other dinosaurs in Nublar North are herbivores and have access to the other Cosmetic Genes. My advice is that if you’re going to save any of the herbivores, don’t save the ones that have the Null-Cosmetic Gene, save the ones that have the other Cosmetic Genes. These ones have a higher rating. All of these potential options take dinosaur variety into account but each category has a different basis. The Struthiomimus has been excluded from this list due to it having the lowest rating (even with other Cosmetic Genes) of all the Nublar North dinosaurs. The dinosaurs with asterisks have a social need of more than 1 (you can look up their social needs on the JWE Wiki). Rating (Total Rating: 897): Albertosaurus, Carnotaurus, Brachiosaurus, Baryonyx, Ankylosaurus, Sinoceratops*, Pachycephalosaurus* & Parasaurolophus* Rating/Social Need#1 (Total Rating: 887): Albertosaurus, Carnotaurus, Brachiosaurus, Baryonyx, Ankylosaurus, Sinoceratops*, Pachycephalosaurus* & Corythosaurus* Rating/Social Need#2 (Total Raitng: 855): Albertoaurus, Carnotaurus, Brachiosaurus, Baryonyx, Ankylosaurus, Sinoceratops*, Corythosaurus* & Gallimimus Social Need (Total Rating: 855): Albertosaurus, Carnotaurus, Brachiosaurus, Baryonyx, Ankylosaurus, Triceratops, Corythosaurus* & Gallimimus Film Accuracy/Rating (Total Rating: 703): Carnotaurus, Apatosaurus*, Baryonyx, Ankylosaurus, Sinoceratops*, Parasaurolophus*, Stygimoloch* & Gallimimus Social Need/Film Accuracy (Total Rating: 700): Carnotaurus, Apatosaurus*, Baryonyx, Ankylosaurus, Triceratops, Parasaurolophus*, Stygimoloch* & Gallimimus Film Accuracy (Total Rating: 690): Carnotaurus, Apatosaurus*, Baryonyx, Stegosaurus*, Triceratops, Parasaurolophus*, Stygimoloch* & Gallimimus Out of these options, the Social Need plan is likely the easiest due to having only 1 dinosaur (Corythosaurus) with a social need more than 1. Any option that is related to Film Accuracy, I would consider to be the most difficult due to the lower rating, the amount of dinosaurs that have a social need more than 1 and how many individuals satisfy each of their social needs. The other options are in between the ones I’ve already mentioned in terms of difficulty.
I dont like the new placing option for the buildings. I have more problems now trying to line buildings up them before because it doesn't spin like before. Also the next fix needs to be this dang ranger station because when you have a large park they get stuck from leaving the station because they try to go the shortest distance if any of this makes sense.
what?! claires dlc had wayy more content and more interesting content, dr wu just brought 3 stupid hybrids an island, and a couple gene mods, calire has implemented 2 whole new islands a new attraction, 3 new dinos and even a whole new mechanic to the game

I agree with most of your points however I didn’t mind the initial gameplay on nublar north, the mission to cure all the dinosaurs I actually thought was quite an enjoyable task. If there had been no achievement incentive then I wouldn’t have thought the same, I did find it a shame that the trex or velociraptor weren’t included as dinosaurs to save, I feel they could have included the Rex on nublar north once you had cured all the others. You could then have been on a jeep chase to sedate both Rex and raptor......could also have maybe had a blue raptor skin included in the dlc but overall not bad content
I have a question which I hope some of you can answer. Is it possible to build in both Nublar North and Claire's Sanctuary island outside of the main campaign or challenge mode? After completing the dlc I went back to Matanceros, but when I went into my Island navigation tab, I couldn't find the new islands. I loved the desing of both Nublar North and Sanctuary. I hope someone can answer this question for me.
Great video I bought it because of the truck Tour but I haven't unlocked it yet. Its fun to play but really difficult I took one Stegosaurus with me and it was stressful
Tbh I didn’t enjoy the second part of the DLC with its challenge mode like mechanic and how long it takes to complete missions and the first part is just depressing tbh, thanks Cabot, I dislike you even more now. I appreciate the effort to try something new but honestly I’d rather more content and dinosaurs over a map we can’t revisit outside of challenge mode Luckily the rewards are well worth the effort and price tag, still compared to the Secrets of Dr Wu it’s not as enjoyable and considering that DLC had a tranq resistant modified Spinoraptor that says a lot.
The dinosaurs and truck tour are worth it for me, the paleobotany is not. There are no non-campaign incentives to use it since you can make dinosaurs immortal in sandbox anyway and it punishes you for experimentation/creativity. Granted, it might be a good way to help break through variety penalties in challenge mode. Also, the story is a sub-par retooling of Fallen Kingdom's story. Cabot Finch literally acts as the Eli Mills/Ken Wheatley of the situation. Claire even says it's another of his broken promises, implying he's pulled similar crap before. Then, instead of creating a wildlife sanctuary as Benjamin Lockwood intended for the namesake island, you instead go into a poorly designed combination of a main campaign map/challenge mode that forces you to complete long slogs of missions that essentially do nothing other than what the main game already has done many times. I feel that in the case of Nublar North, if they instead gave you a 5 or 10 minute timer and said you can take as many dinosaurs as you can rescue with an achievement for getting all 15 species off, that would have been better. And I agree with Bestinslot, the species you should take is not intuitive at all.
Oh no, I'm going to have to restart it then. I didn't even think about the fact that my barionyx died. I didn't notice at all, and kept going. Glad I found this out now though.
Did you breed the baryonyx? I think if you were going to fail it would happen when it died like in the other missions where you need specific dinosaurs. I've not played the dlc yet so I can't be sure but I don't see why it would work any differently from any other mission
I believe it was lockwoods dream, but I couldnt agree more, the dlc isnt very necessary because I found the palo aspect unnecessary, first off one of the first biggest complaints was the feeders...so let's make the feeders 100% more annoying. Plus I'd say most of the player play in the sandbox where lifespan isnt even a thing anyway, unless you want a more realistic feel. I think they shouldnt release anymore story line dlc because you saved 8 of the dinosaurs from the volcano, meanwhile you have 5 other islands with living healthy dinosaurs, I know you pretend you dont but you also have a hatchery lol, I think if they want to make money release a huge paid dlc for terrian tools, scenery, park decor. At this point being able to customize and have more limitless creativity is the way to go
My albertasaurus at the start of sanctuary caught tuberculosis and I didnt even have a research center built so I started building one but it died in less than 2 minutes. There was literally nothing I couldve done. Forced to restart the island after about 2 or 3 hours of progress
Also, I stupidly decided to save a parasaur and stegosaurus so when they arrived on sanctuary they constantly broke out and made me spend most of my time and money trying to fulfill their social need. If I knew I was going to be taking care of the dinosaurs from nublar north, I wouldve picked something like 8 struthiomimus. I paid 15 dollars for this
I would like a Claire's sanctuary part 2 that allows breeding and pet zoo stands I know this would take a LOT of work to make though I think it would also sell great and would make better use of them being safe now. Well aside from the carnivores they live with.
I never picked dinosaurs with high social need, i picked a brachi, gallimimus, struthi, cory, and sinoceratops, and the paleobotany was a great mechanic that made the game a little more difficult n i liked it
Hi, A fairly harsh review in my mind, but I think you explained your reasons well. The DLC adds an alternate storyline to the Dr Wu DLC - we know there are those who didn’t like Dr Wu because of the hybrids angle and the general “bad guy” approach of that DLC. Claire’s Sanctuary provides us with that nicer, more animal activist alternative. I continue to value your opinion and love your work.
I did all the dinosaurs.... manually and still didn’t get the blood achievement. :( To be honest, Euoplocephelus feels like it was shoehorned into this dlc to replace a dinosaur that would’ve probably had unique animations
I felt like Nublar was a lot better than Sanctuary. Nublar was this whole, "Solve this problem! Fix this! Now airlift the dinosaurs!" Sanctuary didn't seem at all what Claire seemed to think it was; just basically another park.
@@Master-rn9ot Well it was worth a check and yeah, on Steam the base game is only $13.50, and the DLC is on sale too, all except the new one, which makes sense because it's only been out a couple days.
Looking back, the update where park rangers can tranquilize dinosaurs and where acu helicopters can medicate dinosaurs should have been with this dlc. I got this dlc after the update that came with Return to Jurassic Park, so the medication part wasn’t as bad.
I have recently bought the Claire Dearing pack and I was playing quite casually however I was un-aware that my dinosaur was going to die (which is out of my control entirely) which forced me to restart the island. I was on the 3rd mission and it is all gone. It is unfair to put a time limit on the park as players who want to enjoy this island are immediately sent back to square one. This one aspect has ruined this DLC and as it stands it was a waste of money as I refuse to run the risk of that much time again. I believe this timer should be remove or at least an option for more active player
I fully agree on your review. Some parts are good; like getting one Alberto for free (but damn he's a pain in the ass because of his forest needs - he broke out 4 times and had to relocate all the stegos that are near the water to get him to settle in well.)! Something is also off with the rangercars; they got stuck inside the landscape or were not able to find their way around the isle. Same thing happened to me on my old parks after the free update. Before, they were working just fine. Somehow they act a lot slower also when you give them tasks - doing things yourself, like medicating and filling up feeders does a better job. And yes, i took Brachio, Stego, Anky, Para, Sinocera, Albert and Carno with me to the new isle! After making 6 stegs all the sudden they got sick; funny enough it was the only sickness i hadnt researched yet and so i lost like 3 stegos -_- They were dropping like flies! Thankfully now everyone is safe and happy :) Other stuff i really like was the rumble of the vulcano in the background. Would have love to see more interactive missions based on that, like cracks in the ground or dangerous fumes. And what was that with healing all them 64 dinos and then only be able to take like 8?? haha ^^ Yes, what a mixed bag; love it, hate it
My favorite part of my playthrough so far is cheesing the five star on Sanctuary. When I was at like 4.75, I just started spamming Albertosauruses till the dino score put me over the threshold. And then by getting praised by Claire despite not acting in the spirit of her vision.
It is very worth it cuz i think its only 6 quid, you get 3 new dinosaurs, new buildings, new behavior and food, im definitely buying this after i complete the normal game then secrets of dr wu
Because I really didn't play with the new dinosaurs in the Carnovore pack because school was pretty hectic at the time it makes me feel like I now have 6 new dinosaurs instead of the 3 that are actually new
It’s been about 5 months since the DLC’s release, so my question at this point is, is it even worth the $16.24 price on steam? I’m only looking for the increase in dinosaurs for the Ouranosaurus and the Albertosaurus since they’re part of the OG JPOG cast...it seems paying that much for about less than 8 bucks of wanted content isn’t worth it...
I like the dlc so far. I kinda see it as the mission mode of JPOG with a narrative, and that when you complete said missions you unlock the new buildings and dinosaurs to use in the standard campaign and challenge mode. One thing I don’t agree with fully with your review is the choice of the dinosaurs to move over to the next island. I do agree it should have been stated more clearly how the dinosaurs chosen will be able to be grown in the hatchery in sanctuary and affect gameplay, but I don’t think it is inherently a problem by the dlc. The choices of dinosaurs we make as players defines the challenge we place ourselves in the next island and makes me want to replay the campaign because of it. Like I could have a play through where the dinosaurs chosen could easily live by themselves or with 1 partner. And have another play through where I have one of each dinosaur but have to create the additional dinosaurs in sanctuary. I knew the stegosaurus would need at least 5 social so I should be ready for that. After finishing challenge mode of these maps. I personally want to try the dlc again but with only struthis and gallimimus. Low rating dinosaurs that don’t live that long, as a challenge for myself to do the sanctuary missions as fast as possible before they expire. And maybe another where I have only carnivores and risk having them break out and kill each other. At least that’s how I see the dlc. I do believe it’s not something that would cater to everyone, but I do admire the quality placed in this particular dlc over the Secrets of Dr.Wu. Hopefully we could get a campaign DLC this December that tops all previous dlcs! 🦕
Yeah, I've been pretty unimpressed. The first mission is a lot of waiting, do this, wait, do that, wait... the second mission forcing to re-research all the stuff you've already done in the base game just felt cheap. Like as if Frontier was looking for a way to extend the DLC by placing uncreative roadblocks. But yes, all of your comments beyond that I agree with. Honestly, I wouldn't even mind waiting longer for DLC if it was fleshed out further and had additional content included. All this micro-updates and small DLCs are starting to feel cheap. But since we've recently learned that JWE has also been their most successful game, I'm not surprised they're trying to squeeze out every penny they can.
PhantomPicFlorida one thing I didn’t like was how sanctuary was done. It’s just a easy challenge mode in a campaign. The content aswell in a way felt cheap and thin. I’m hoping future docs will be better. Hopefully a 1993 dlc pack or something.
Im not a big fan of the paleobotony either because ypu habe to wait for it to be removed then grow and it takes too long then the whole time your trying to go back an forth growin so they really need some growing speed upgrades to the greenhouse. Now beating the game will be harder because you have to reasearch all the stuff instead of deleting amd putting another feeder. What do yall think about it?
I'm really disapointed that they didn't make the volcano erupt after building up the hype. That was stupid. PLEASE add a growing speed upgrade to the greenhouse!
I haven't finished the DLC yet. I've only finished the first island... twice - had to restart because I didn't take into account the stupid Stegosaurus I saved would be dropped onto Sanctuary thereby requiring it to need friends. I really enjoyed the first island, but the moment I started Sanctuary the first time and it mentioned the Hammond fee, my enthusiasm quickly diminished.
Yeah. That second island had so much potential and they completely pulled the rug out from under us with it. They made it a completely pointless island whose only purpose was the be the backdrop to the new missions and explaining the greenhouse. I dont think any one would want to go back after unlocking everything even as some sort if challenge island because you have no dinosaurs there. Its bloody retarded.
I like the update contents more than the DLC.
Same honestly
Not having all the dinosaurs available on the dlc is seriously killing me right now. Blew me away that they didnt unlock after doing the missions. Makes the island feel like a pointless back drop to the new missions. Still holding hope I get em for 5 staring it but I'm not to hopeful. I think u just unlock the truck tour for the other islands

Yes same, I like the update more! I think the new scenery and train painting is one of the biggest reasons

They could have built in "solitary" genes into the Nublar dinos so they didn't get fussy being alone if you chose to rescue them. They set it up so you almost always have to put inmore than what is displayed if you dont have access to the population genes.
Yup, when they ask me to do stuff, I'm always like, "Don't you have access to the same information about these dinosaurs as I do?!"

Yeah thats what I didn’t understand, the sanctuary in jwe goes completely against what sanctuary is supposed to be in the jurassic world lore. But,at the same time it’s understandable because of just how the game is made to be.
Here are a few ideas that Frontier might want to incorporate for a possible patch update/DLC for Claire's Sanctuary or Jurassic World Evolution 2:
First Nublar North:
-A substantial time limit for player to complete all missions/accomplishments.
Next Sanctuary:
-The player should have access to all chosen dinosaurs transported from Nublar North to Sanctuary and their DNA/Fossil Material.
Sounds good to me.
But I have been thinking of a Ranch building, which could grow steers, a large bird (like emu or ostrich), sawfish, and/or crustaceans to resupply these special carnivore feeders:
*1.) Fresh Steer Meat Dispenser -* Acts like the regular meat feeder, but also supplies carnivores with the entire carcass, including the horns and bones, for dinosaurs that enjoy eating thick chunks of marrow such as T-Rex.
It seems like this DLC cost is too high for the low amount of content :/
Akrian Durin on Xbox and steam it costs $14.99 which is a good price

Plus you can just do it at your own pace and not worry about some invisible timer.
does anyone else feel like there should be a thing where your able to take control of a guest and just be a guest at your own park.
The content is amazing... some added variety in game-play and realism, but as you said... thin in amount. It's definitely a positive step in game care.
Great review my grandpa's vuneral was today and i wanna thank both you swvre and gamibeaver for cheering my day up keep up all you guys
Hope you have a great day!!
the first thing i did was go to sand box it was surprisingly fun designing the park from a paleobotany perspective especially if you build 2 green houses because you get to experience really tailoring each exhibit for the animals in it. i wish frontier wouldve allowed you to do in on the other islands instead of just sand box overall i really liked this dlc and it was less of a pain in the ass than dr wu
I personally love the new dlc. The new dinosaurs and truck tour are worth it alone.
I really hoped for more herbivores like the Therezinosaurus or Argentinasaurus
Keep holding onto that hope bud. Another placement was put for a new DLC on that DLC list thing that's online for Jurassic World Evolution, SteamDB I think it's called. We got a carnivore pack, we'll possibly get a herbivore pack. Pachyrhinosaurus and Chronosaurus were found in the game's files, so those two are probably in the pack. I'm also hoping Therizinosaurus will be that crazy mystery dinosaur Frontier has teased several times.
@@DukeCondor Yeah and if I remember correctly from that leak, there will be a 1993 DLC pack
I’m just feeling these feelings now after reading the comments

I KNOW! Gallimimus are so weak against TB!
The only DLCs I have are Clare's sanctuary and secrets of Dr. Wu. Is it worth it to buy the others
honestly yes
Carnivore pack is great, Cretaceous pack less so (but Iguanodon is good)
@@BestInSlotGaming alright thanks I'll probably get the Carnivore pack then.
My reasons that make me buy the 2 main DLCs of the game
- Dr Wu DLC: genes that help you put your dinosaurs in small enclosures and with more social limit
- Claire DLC: jurassic tour
Those two minuscule features are no way near worth just over £20.
Wait after you finish the dlc can you get the dinos in the main game
eh, i mean yeah it's overpriced but I'm having fun.
I agree the curing mission on Isla Nublar was quite boring 😅
This is the only DLC where it's worth buying it for all the dinosaurs.
I plan on doing a fresh playthrough of the entire game just as I did when the Wu DLC came out, starting with the Claire DLC. It’s detached enough from the main game to treat it like a prequel of sorts. Save the dinosaurs (all 8 of them) and then do the main campaign building up a new Jurassic franchise on the islands, playing the Wu content last
Here’s my guide to which 8 species you should consider saving for the Claire’s Sanctuary DLC:
First, some general information.
Rating (Total Rating: 897): Albertosaurus, Carnotaurus, Brachiosaurus, Baryonyx, Ankylosaurus, Sinoceratops*, Pachycephalosaurus* & Parasaurolophus*
Rating/Social Need#1 (Total Rating: 887): Albertosaurus, Carnotaurus, Brachiosaurus, Baryonyx, Ankylosaurus, Sinoceratops*, Pachycephalosaurus* & Corythosaurus*
Rating/Social Need#2 (Total Raitng: 855): Albertoaurus, Carnotaurus, Brachiosaurus, Baryonyx, Ankylosaurus, Sinoceratops*, Corythosaurus* & Gallimimus
Social Need (Total Rating: 855): Albertosaurus, Carnotaurus, Brachiosaurus, Baryonyx, Ankylosaurus, Triceratops, Corythosaurus* & Gallimimus
Film Accuracy/Rating (Total Rating: 703): Carnotaurus, Apatosaurus*, Baryonyx, Ankylosaurus, Sinoceratops*, Parasaurolophus*, Stygimoloch* & Gallimimus
Social Need/Film Accuracy (Total Rating: 700): Carnotaurus, Apatosaurus*, Baryonyx, Ankylosaurus, Triceratops, Parasaurolophus*, Stygimoloch* & Gallimimus
Film Accuracy (Total Rating: 690): Carnotaurus, Apatosaurus*, Baryonyx, Stegosaurus*, Triceratops, Parasaurolophus*, Stygimoloch* & Gallimimus
Out of these options, the Social Need plan is likely the easiest due to having only 1 dinosaur (Corythosaurus) with a social need more than 1.
I’d say it’s not quite as good as Dr. Wu, but still quite a good expansion. Here’s hoping that the supposed 1993 DLC also delivers!

Its fun to play but really difficult

I also made the stegosaurus mistake... wow that took a long time to amend!
Great Review. Especially the Criticism about the first half hits the Nail.
Tbh I didn’t enjoy the second part of the DLC with its challenge mode like mechanic and how long it takes to complete missions and the first part is just depressing tbh, thanks Cabot, I dislike you even more now. I appreciate the effort to try something new but honestly I’d rather more content and dinosaurs over a map we can’t revisit outside of challenge mode
Luckily the rewards are well worth the effort and price tag, still compared to the Secrets of Dr Wu it’s not as enjoyable and considering that DLC had a tranq resistant modified Spinoraptor that says a lot.
@@sketnemesie yeah, I'm stupid, it's all herbivores. So it's all good. Plus, one of my herbis died and everything was fine so I dunno.
In Fallen Kingdom Mills did say we could rescue 11 species.
Not to mention the weird glitches with no sound and not being able to turn
BaconKiller478 PlayStation yeah I've experienced an audio bug where the game becomes weirdly quiet.
I never picked dinosaurs with high social need, i picked a brachi, gallimimus, struthi, cory, and sinoceratops, and the paleobotany was a great mechanic that made the game a little more difficult n i liked it
Paleobotany makes challenge mode a joke if you invest into maxing out the rating of cages filled with Ourano and Iguano
Hi,
A fairly harsh review in my mind, but I think you explained your reasons well.
Best in slot. Planet zoo just did a behind the scenes animation. You should check it out and have a break down on the channel
I was shocked we only got 9 or 10 dinos for the sanctuary. Why couldn't we bring all of them????
It may be threadbare but I'm on the sanctuary island mission 2 and at the moment its keeping me quite entertained
I did all the dinosaurs.... manually and still didn’t get the blood achievement. :(
To be honest, Euoplocephelus feels like it was shoehorned into this dlc to replace a dinosaur that would’ve probably had unique animations
I hate that once you finish Clair's DLC... You can't sandbox the sanctuary or Nublar North
You probably know this by now, but I think they added Sandbox for all islands.
I'm having a problem right now where I can't get the dinosaurs for the dlc toy campaign
I felt like Nublar was a lot better than Sanctuary. Nublar was this whole, "Solve this problem! Fix this! Now airlift the dinosaurs!" Sanctuary didn't seem at all what Claire seemed to think it was; just basically another park.
paleobotany is very useful in challenge mode and it can be useful in campaign
So when you complete Clair’s sanctuary do you get to go back to the 5 islands
The fact that the two added maps are not available in the main game means I'm waiting for it to go on sale to buy.
Idk if you have xbox but the deluxe version of the game is probably still on sale in the store for like 25 $.
@@Master-rn9ot Well it was worth a check and yeah, on Steam the base game is only $13.50, and the DLC is on sale too, all except the new one, which makes sense because it's only been out a couple days.
Loving the reviews my dude, keep it up. Also music choice is on point!! ; )
Yea i Agree Mission 3 was a Disaster.
Can we go back to Nublar North once we finish the sanctuary missions?
It is very worth it cuz i think its only 6 quid, you get 3 new dinosaurs, new buildings, new behavior and food, im definitely buying this after i complete the normal game then secrets of dr wu
Because I really didn't play with the new dinosaurs in the Carnovore pack because school was pretty hectic at the time it makes me feel like I now have 6 new dinosaurs instead of the 3 that are actually new
Once you get to mission 3 the original few dinosaurs you get don't matter if they die if the ones that die are carnivores.
Actually curing all the dinosaurs is pretty easy because you can just place multiple ranger stations
completely agree in fact i was thinking all these things already. Great job in explaining it perfectly
Are you going to make a return to Jurassic Park review?
you should have talked about how santuary isnt a sandbox, if it was a sandbox that came with the dlc the dlc would be worth it in my opinion
I thought your review was very fair and objective. I liked Claire's Sanctuary a lot and am glad I bought it, but I agree with many of your criticisms.
My baryonyx I got from nublar died of old age and now I have to start the island ALL OVER AGAIN. AND I WAS DOING REALLY GOOD
I'm really disapointed that they didn't make the volcano erupt after building up the hype.
You can not use Sanctuary and Nublar North in your actual career?
