You will have to keep the canning part of pole barn: cool the summer and keep from freezing in the winter or jars may burst. We enjoy watching your channel and seeing Wyatt. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!

You might be able to use the brown jars in a water bath but don't use them in a pressure canner. Plus you can always store dry goods like dry beans or oats.

Took off the internet...just in case, you may want to look into this deeper. "Where do you store pressure canned food?
Store them in a clean, cool, dark, dry place. Don't store jars above 95 F. Don't store near hot pipes, a range, a furnace, in an uninsulated attic, or in direct sunlight. Under these conditions, food will lose quality in a few weeks or months and may spoil."

Maybe try marking all your bins with what’s inside them. Therefore you know whats inside without removing the lid. Saves a ton of time, add to the bins if there’s room and just add to the list on the lid. All things chicken coop etc. and so on

I would leave your side open with a barn door. That way you'll be able to bring in bigger materials easier than trying to get them through a single door. You mentioned that it is too hot for storing canning yet your going to use part of your barn to do this. Will it have a floor, be insulated and cooled to store these items. Maybe I missed the full explanation. Have fun on your build, like your channel.

@@faithrada We live in ND and there would be no way to store things unless it was climate controlled. I think it would be too hot no matter where you live in the US etc. This room has to be built like a person would build an addition to their home. It gets very hot in AK and it can get very cold.

Never saw you 2 as clutter fans. In fact from watching you I see you as very organized. ❤ Makes life easier when you know where everything goes. My grandma used to have a “root cellar” in her backyard that she kept her canned goods and dried meat in. It maintained a temperature of about 50 degrees Fahrenheit and had a concrete shelter door that was sloped in back of the door we used to play on. I’m so happy normal has come🎉 back to your home and with it happiness.

Do the big barn doors. That way you can open it wide and it will be cooler in the spring and summer. As for Rox’s canning side, we use a camp chef gas table range that hooks up to a five gallon propane tank. We do all of our canning outside under the patio cover or in the garage! Does heat the house up 🥰

Love what you're planning 😃 I think it would be good to leave the 10 X 10 section open, then if you later need more storage space or decide to get rid of the tent storage, you could build a other section of barn coming off the 10 X 10 part, at a right angle, and have the tin roof a little lower so the rain run off falls the right way (like David has done with his tiny house). And you can keep on adding along that if you need to as time goes on, and Wyatt's e-bikes get bigger and later turn into a 4 wheeler, all the way till you get to the rabbits 😃
