I like how you grind dowm the model teeth .I have been doing that for years.I also trim the base of the model so it fits as low in the flask as needed.I find soaking the model in water for a few minutes eliminates a lot of bubbles in the investment.
It is good to see even teachers struggling with the denture extraction from flask. my question after this video is about trial packing, how will you add any resin mixture to the flask without opening it and causing the material to distort as it is not hardened enough.
I don't understand the purpose of waiting for the acrylic to reach a dough-like stage? Instructions tell you to just mix and pour right away. What is the difference?
Thank you for your question. Acrylic is best shaped into the mould in the dough stage, pouring it earlier or later than that will lead to porosity in the final product
@@teachingprosthodontics9225 Ah, makes sense. I never had porosity in liquid form, but did have some grainyness and alot of the flash as they call it (extraneous acrylic to grind down). Don't know if the dough stage helps with that, but have tried the dough past two dentures without any problems. Thanks

You are not supposed to hammer it, there is a way to deflask and break that mold with saw cuts.
