I watched games from 1966 to 1971 when I was little. My family left Chicago then and every month since, I have had a dream at night about being at Wrigley.
Love this old ballpark, and cannot believe it took until 2004 to make it on the Register(!). Flew 2000 miles/roundtrip to attend last two games played at Old Comiskey (9/29-SatNITE & 9/30-SunDAY / 1990), and still cannot believe they tore it down. The fools.
Gunny thanks for the wonderful presentation love the old history and wish that the façade can be brought back to it's original look yes remove those panels.
1:18 Had he not been talking, I could still tell it is Wrigley Field. Wrigley didn't buy out Weeghman. Weeghman borrowed money from Wrigley putting his majority share of the Cubs up as collateral. Weeghman could not pay Wrigley back. The rest is history.
From about 1960 until the late 60s, the 49ers played the Bears at least once a year at Wrigley. I saw those games on the TV in the Bay Area. I remember well watching the 1963 NFL Championship game between the Bears and Giants on the TV.

We used to pass old Comiskey on our way to Kenosha. It is a shame most of the old stadiums are gone.
Hey, I know that dude!! Great job, Gunny! Go Cubs!
Love this video! Thank you.

1906* not 1909
1909? 1906!
