I represented Wales at U19 level- football. I now live in the US and listened to this in my office and my god the coffee is broken because I started crying... Brought me back home for a brief moment. Yma O Hyd!❤
Fuck me, I shed a tear at the end. I’ve never been somebody motivated by nationalism but the more I learn about our history and how hampered we are by Westminster …. We need independence.
This was brilliant! I am American, but have a Welsh ancestry. I’m learning currently learning about my ancestors, and their rich history. Thank you for sharing this.
They say Hiraeth is the longing for a Wales that used to exist. I would argue Hiraeth is the longing for the Wales that never was. The Wales that could have been. But the thing is, we are still here. Ry'n ni yma o hyd. It is not over, and we still have the chance to build the Wales that can be: A free independant Wales. Something that has never existed
Michael Sheen's voice helps me NEED to learn Cymraeg. I, a North American am increasingly using CYMRU as the land of some of my Fathers, the Land I am ever closer to. My Prince's name is Owain Glyndwr. He's returning. ✅

The Problem is and has always been the Welsh being far too accommodating to those who wish them Harm. All the while attacking those who have never lifted a finger towards them. The Welsh have truly forgotten who they are. They are Cymro-Britons....Not British!!!
Wales gives England 133 billion litres of water a year 2 pence a litre 266 billion pounds a year which Wales doesn't see one penny of this. Per capita, when including all its assets England controlls. Yes, Wales would probably be in the top 35 richest countries on planet Earth. But you can't tell most Welsh people this. Stockholm Syndrome with a slice of Amnesia set in a long time ago.
It’s 266 billion pence divided by 100= £2billion, 660million pounds. I think, but I do see your point and yes , Wales is a very wealthy country in its own right. One other thing though, I love the Welsh, the same as I love the English and I will never let politicians or social media convince me otherwise.
Michael Sheen is a brilliant actor but I am uncomfortable at what whipping up centuries of anti English xenophobia will do for our nation. Wales has maintained a strong sense of identity and culture throughout centuries of successful union with England, and the UK is the fifth largest economy on earth. I get that atrocities happened in the past but the people of Wales are no more oppressed today than our neighbours across the border. Instead of whipping up anti English hatred and making Welsh people feel like the victims of centuries of oppression, wouldn't it be better to celebrate the way we can enrich the fabric of our island nation. Surely we are stronger together?
Successful union? Name one thing Wales actually gained instead of the languange being crippled? Wales would be 16th richest country if we had Seen only 50% of the resources put back into Wales. As it is, Wales is Worse of than East Germans were under the Soviet Union. This is continued to this day thanks to westminster tying the Senedd up by one arm. They can't even borrow like the other UK Nations can. Let's not even get onto the fact Wales has no say on international matters. Letting the English do or should I say, not do the talking for Wales. The UK is the most un-democratic place on planet earth, three nations get a PM they never vote for, time and time again. Hypocrisy of the highest order, especially after Brexit. P.S - Yma O Hyd /|\
Approximately £4 trillion has been the profit from the mining industry, how much of this has been reinvested in Wales, the same scenario has been played out in Cornwall as well, you only have to see the comparisons between the two countries, yes Kernow is not England, the similarities incredible, poor in the mining areas, extortionately rich in parts of the costal areas
What union? We were annexed. Should the Ukrainians accommodate the Russians? Russia sees it as their land. For the sake of “xenophobia” should they give up to a dictator?
@@taffyducks544 Wales voted for Brexit. England doesn’t even have its own Parliament. Welsh MPs can vote on England only matters. England has never had a referendum on its own matters.

I think the English parliament should give that money to Wales as it is money owed for a resource from Wales
