Ebizo Ichikawa XI’s video message

This is the first of many posts to come on Tokyo 2020’s “One Team Project”- an initiative to bring together Japan’s leading creators and innovators in a wide range of fields and have them share their own interpretation of the Tokyo 2020 Games’ vision.
KABUKI, a style of Japanese classical dance-drama loved by many, has a rich history dating back hundreds of years. At the forefront of the modern kabuki world is actor Ebizo Ichikawa, who plays a pivotal role in preserving this sophisticated and refined portrayal of traditional Japanese culture. With exactly 3 years to go until the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Ebizo shared with us his thoughts on their meaning and purpose.
