Awkward spaces typically call for customization. Whether that be a custom order, a more expensive piece to fit certain measurements or there really not being a product that you're truly looking for on the market - that's the power of DIY
Figuring out the kinks hasn’t necessarily been the most fun but it definitely helps me realize what to hire out, do again myself and what to keep trying to progress within. Customizing this small bathroom vanity gave me the confidence with the design ideas I have for the remainder of the space for the reveal!

We all love a little architexture!!
When you’re going through big changes, it’s hard to stick to previous plans and strict schedules. So don’t worry - we can be flexible.
Meanwhile the way you’re posting with full coverage of mistakes, changing your mind and having to tear things out, annoyance with self is reassuring - apparently I’m not the only one who thought I knew what I wanted and how to get to there and discovered along the way that I had to backtrack and sometimes even start over. That’s not just for DIY but also for life.

this is one of your best in a while! the terrazo tile with the arched nook looks soo good. And the mirror / lamp..... soooo good. very magazine worthy. The only thing I was worried about was whether or not the sink needed reinforcement? That concrete looked kind of thin to me but I've never done that before! I think ben uses fiberglass sometimes, no? I guess we'll find out next ep! :) happy new year

People don’t realize how difficult it is to renovate a bathroom, house, trailer, etc all by yourself. I bought my house at the end of 2019 and we gutted the ENTIRE thing down to studs. It’s an insane undertaking that’s still not done! I’ve found the hardest part to be the design cos it’s almost like I’m learning what I like and don’t like along the way and having to care about every last decision is exhausting!

Love the styling you’re going for! It’s simplistic and smart. This is real, this is your life and how anyone does things. You’re a blessing for showing the reality of DIY. Let me tell you, I had three color pallets for my salon, have made things only to dismantle them, bought put together taken apart and returned items. Girl you’re building your sacred space and it takes time and as you grow into yourself, and learn new things you’ll want to go rip it all up and redo things with your new knowledge. If you’ve lost followers because your “growing” .. oh well, they weren’t your target audience. Whooooo when you mentioned the missing piece of tile from your childhood, I got such a strong sense of nostalgia 😄 there was always always always a piece of tile missing in my Dad's house. Since you’ve created this vanity, I wanted to let you know that before Xmas, I added Mel Robbins’ High 5 moment to my morning. I think it created space in my head to consider how I was showing up to myself. It’s good to look forward to seeing yourself. (That’s all - just needed to share!)
Love it! It takes time to get things right...I started my fireplace remodel two years ago 12/23 and it only has maybe 5% left (drywall texture) but I injured myself and it’s hard to get up and down a ladder now. 🤷♀️. I don’t know why anyone would unsubscribe just because you aren’t putting out as much content it’s the quality of the content that counts.

I came because of the makeovers. I stayed because of you. There are so many DIY channels, makeover channels, etc, but only one Rachel. Your style choices may not always match mine, but that's okay. I still appreciate everything you create, but more than that, I value that you show the process, mistakes and all. From you I learned that it's okay to mess up, that an accident can be an opportunity. I hope that 2022 brings you all the good things.
