These Outfits are marvelous!🌟 This Video really showed me how strange it is that people don't dress equally. To know that androgynous fashion started in the 20s and the fact that it still attracts attention and you get stared at today is just really sad. It almost looks as If we took a step back in comparisation to the 60s and 70s.
Thanks a million!🌟 I totally agree, it’s sad how gender roles and dressing in stereotypes came back... I feel like there are still lots of people out there dressing however they want but then everybody freaks out about boys in dresses... it’s just weird to me because I feel like there are so many people who don’t want equality but rather go back to old gender roles... It’s something our society definitely still has to work on!
You're right. :) Far back in history, there were eras where men were absolutey peacocks...think the court of Louis 1V, The Sun King! And later of course women like Katherine Hepburn who made men's trousers look fabulous. When I was young there was a show called Top Of The Pops (episodes of which you can find on YT from the 70's and can see fashions from both performers and audience) and I remember my ultra conservative dad yelling "Get a haircut!!" to Marc Bolan on the show which had me in fits of laughter. I remember lots of women wearing fedora's and brogues, and men wearing flowered blouses open to the navel and yes, huge floppy brimmed sunhats. Cords were HUGE back then too, though the thin striped cord morphed into "jumbo cord" in the early 80's. I love all your outfits, you always nail the vibe. Lots of lovely memories. :) (Also, patchwork denim was a thing then too) If you haven't done so already I'd love to see a video on peasant fashion which for women was gorgeous. :)
I love Top of the Pops! I think I’ve probably seen every single episode that’s on UA-cam. Thank you so much for your comment and sharing your memories with me. I always love to hear all of those amazing stories and The idea of your dad yelling at the TV make me laugh out loud. I love the idea about the peasant fashion video and I’ll definitely work on it!✨I hope you’re doing well and I’m sending you the biggest hug because your comment means a lot to me!🌟
@@EmmaRosaKatharina Thanks so much for the hug! I was a bit worried about being an annoying/boring old woman but I LOVE your channel, it brings back so many happy memories. Do you know of the actress Caroline Munro? She was in the film "Captain Kronos Vampire Hunter" from 1974, her peasant outfit was so beautiful and I was only one among many girls at school who tried hard to create that look with billowy broderie anglaise blouses, full skirts (with white petticoats peeping out the bottom) and wide leather belts. Fashion used to be a lot of fun :)
You know what’s so great about your videos, is how you describe so much of what you’re showing - a friend of mine is visually impaired and can’t really see details and textures, so when you describe them (like the “square gold buckle”) she can picture it in her mind :)
It always a big joy to watch your videos, dear Emma! I agree that fashion has not a gender. (And yes, i think - person should wear that clothes that makes him\her feel comfortable and individual). Thanks for the video! All these outfits are fabulous!
Ahhh I love that you’re starting with so much historical background information, and aren’t just like “yeah, here’s the outfits, whatever” It makes it so much more interesting, informative and inspiring!:) And also, this is EXACTLY WHAT I WAS JUST SEARCHING FOR, as Im a little hippie too, and really want to start dressing more androgynous, as I feel like most of my outfits are rather feminine :D You did a great job, and thanks for your help in my qUeSt !🪲🌿🌝
Great video Emma!!!!! I love all the outfits, because I'm not wearing skirts or dresses & this vid is very helpful to mix-match male & femine clothes to create a beautiful 60s & 70s androgynous looks. Thank you soooo much...
i always have found androgynous fashion to be super interesting, especially as a mechanism to dress stylish as a closeted trans person without having to dress in line with the gender assigned at birth, so this will be very useful! thank you!!
Thank you for making this!! I have no idea how I stumbled upon this video but your outfits and little snippet of fashion history were spot on and so well done!
Which outfit is you favorite?✨
I liked them all.
My favorite was the David Bowie inspired look as well as the navy cords outfit. Both were very cool and dapper. ❤️
Hey em,how are you?how has your week been?my favourite out fit is the den on denem.
I agree with you when you say that fashion has no gender. If men want to wear pantyhose and pumps, that's their prerogative
Absolutely!🌟
As a non-binary person fascinated with the 70's, thank you very much!
You’re very welcome ❤️ your words mean a lot ⭐️

PS Bianca Jagger was a disco goddess who wore beautiful men's style white suits.

Fashion is genderless, politics has no business in fashion. I love this!
