Knowing gardfield is drawn the way he is for simplicity sake (easier to repeat for various artists to redraw) seeing his design evolve was hilarious to me. I kept thinking “man those story board artists would hate you 😂” This was a lot of fun, I would love to see more like this. Especially a take where to use a very “good” character (or evil for reverse) all the way to a “bad” character.

the heterochromia thing is so weird to me at times because I have heterochromia and my right eye is a different shape than my left. some people act like it's a crime to give your OC heterochromia and I'm here to say; go for it. just do it. some of us have funky eyes. there doesn't even need to be a reason! just 'they have heterochromia bc I say so' is fine

Since DR was brought up, I realized that all my favorite characters (Makoto, Chihiro, Maki, Kyoko, Sonia etc.) actually have pretty simple designs. That’s true even for other characters I like, considering how one of my current favorite characters literally just wears a short jacket.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Most DR characters hve some variation of a school uniform. Even for the hairstyle, most of them are in the ballpark of "very classical anime design" (also, we have a lot favorites in common, yeah !)
