I enjoy hearing the history of the important, old courses, like this one. It's crazy to think Pasatiempo was built with horse and plow. And right as the Great Depression was beginning. 10K subs today would be awesome!
First played Pasatiempo in June of 1972, as a 16 year old 2 handicap from Susanville, in the far north of California. My friend and I drove 5 hours down to the Bay Area, and first played California Club. Next was Pasatiempo, then Pebble Beach, (just 3 days after Nicklaus won the US Open). Then finished up with Spyglass Hill! What a trip! How tough was the 1972 US Open? I managed to break 80 at California Club, Pasatiempo and Spyglass, yet failed to break 100 at Pebble! Nicklaus, at the peak of his powers shot +2 over par 290 to win! The rough was so deep, that I lost my camera in the “hay” to the left of #2! Played Pasatiempo many times after, and it remains a strong favorite!… a little history, they played #1 at “457 yards”, par four. It used to be a par 5, with the back tee sitting on TOP of the cart barn…. about 495 yards….True story.
Pasatiempo is an awesome golf course. Working in the golf industry I've gotten to see a lot of courses but this one separates itself from most. Love the work guys. Very pure view on this beautiful game.
taking a vacation day to play half moon bay and pasatiempo later this month and I can't stop watching this series to get as much info as possible. Your vlogs are great! Keep it up!
just discovered you guys today. i really appreciate the time you take to edit your videos, explain your shots, and your realistic scoring. it's hard to learn from videos where the players are making birdies every shot while im still hitting double bogeys, so i appreciate that you two are realistic good players with occasional bad shots from time to time and lots of bunker practice.
The history bit was good...it makes the course more interesting with that little insight. Living in the UK and being Scottish I like a bit of golf history!
Being a South Carolina native, just a few miles from Augusta and Charleston, I love history like this. If you think stuff like this is boring, then you probably live in a place without much history. You guys seem to really appreciate golf design, history, and unique courses. You should do a tour of the Southeast and hit some historic courses. SC- First in Golf!
Gentleman you've just raised the bar......again! Superb Vlog with some super smooth camera work. Along with other viewer comments the history piece at the start really set up this episode, the guy certainly knew his stuff. You guys are living the dream at the moment, roll on 10k 👍
I love history lessons on old courses. Mackenzie was the ultimate designer, his rules for design made courses fun for all levels. Nicklaus focuses on rewarding only the best players by requiring shot placement for reward. Jones loved to adapt the course to the natural landscape and provided multiple ways to play each hole.
This is so cool! When my wife and I visited Ireland earlier this year we visited La Hinch Golf Club of the west coast of Ireland and it was awesome. It too was designed by Mr MacKenzie along with others.
Most difficult greens I’ve ever played. Yardage means nothing. Where you are putting or chipping from is the entire game at Pasa. It’s great fun. Loved it.
Great history lesson. Course looks amazing! On par 4's and 5's with narrow fairways I like to go 5 wood and 4 hybrid. I still have problems keeping my driver straight.
Love your vlog! If you guys haven't already done so, you have to check out Northwood GC in Monte Rio (Santa Rosa CA area) It's an Alister Mackenzie design. Short course but has this surreal feel to it. Keep doing your thing fellas!
Loving watching you boys at the moment one of the best on UA-cam and I would love one of them hats for advertising your channel over here in wales keep in up boys
Beautiful golf course guys, great for the old "Shortgame" . I loved the history info, makes the vlog a lot more interesting , have fun!! regards from England!!
Beautiful course. The mature monterry cypress trees reminded me of TPC Harding Park. If you guys ever come out to east county San Diego it would be great to see Steele Canyon or Salt Creek. Enjoyed the history portion as well, helps create a story
Hey guys, would love to see some drone footage before the holes to get a better understanding of the course ! Great vids and background Infos are always nice.
I second that. The drone footage is awesome to watch, but I'd rather see it to preview each hole, instead of a lengthy bit of it at the beginning of the vlog. Idea: For holes on which you have drone footage, Instead of spending time on the tee to describe the hole, you could start the hole on the vlog with the flyover and add narration while editing.
what Calif drought? haha... love how green the course is. :) Love the history in the beginning... really awesome! place looks NARROW! should've brought your 72 degree wedge. Another great vid guys... keep up the good work!
Only guy I know that hit one in Alister's yard! Nice touch! Least you didn't break a window or anything... :) He is one of my most admired designers. No wonder Bobby Jones said he's the guy...
Since the putting lesson, I think Marko has stolen Mike's putting Mojo! Haha. Cool info about bunker camouflage. I never think of course architecture unless someone brings it up.
Gorgeous looking course guys. Marko, when I started watching your vlogs Mike had 6 strokes on you. The way you're playing lately that's gotta be at least halved by now hasn't it?
Went to a golf course yesterday and the tee box grass was better than some of the greens I play on. Just cut em a little shorter and you have teeing greens.
My home club is an Alstair mckenzie designed course it`s called Nelson golf club England UK. The fairways are narrow some of the greens are 4 paces wide this includes the par 3`s It has double tiered greens and is all round fantastic Peter Finch and Rick sheils often play here and love it.
Great videos guys and gals but you can't rake the bunker before you hit your shot ..lol.. I know you guys know keep up the good the stuff . Nice videos
Golfholics! Got a question for you guys. Seeing as yall seem to like high MOI putters, what do you think one of the best high MOI putters is from a few years ago? I'm looking for a new putter, but an older one so I can get one used for a little bit less. Maybe something like a taylormade daddy long legs?
Videos never disappoint! Awesome stuff! Enjoyed the history portion. Those greens look treacherous! Marko making some nice putts and mikes bunker game on point! Everyone make sure to Like, Comment, Share and Subscribe! Let's push this over 10k subs today!!!
its a really good course- could have been great but there are a few very average holes- particularly the hole that has Mackenzies house. that said, the top four holes from this course wold contend with any course in the world.
Did you like the history portion of this video? Let us know. Be sure to subscribe, we're almost at 10K!! 🙏🏻

My local municipal course in Sheffield (UK) is a MacKenzie course. Very proud of that! Great course too.
I definitely did! A lot of history that a lot people didn't know! You guys are great, can't wait for next video!
Yeah man, very cool. That particular guy seemed very passionate and knowledgeable.
Rich Drabble my local in County Durham is a Mackenzie course too

In the last vlog I asked for slow motion of bunker shots and here you have it! Thanks for listening. Excellent as always.
Love the little history segment. That guy was a class act and did well presenting the history. Videos are always good. Keep it up!
agreed and thx Tim Tiel #golfholics 🤙
Yes! I enjoy hearing the stories about each course. It adds character and shows the importance of maintaining the history.

Appreciate the videos guys! Extremely fun to watch you guys battle.

so many bunkers.
& i enjoyed the history part. it's nice to learn something about the course before watching/playing it.
Man, wish you guys dropped a video every day. Great way to check out for a few minutes.
Really enjoying these golf vlogs! Nice to see quality golf content from this side of the pond ... not to detract from friends work on the other side.
Gentleman you've just raised the bar......again! Superb Vlog with some super smooth camera work. Along with other viewer comments the history piece at the start really set up this episode, the guy certainly knew his stuff. You guys are living the dream at the moment, roll on 10k 👍

Your videos keep getting better and better. Love them
Great video guys. Love the course history segment, it's a good addition.
Marko is on fire with that putter by the way.
Most difficult greens I’ve ever played. Yardage means nothing. Where you are putting or chipping from is the entire game at Pasa. It’s great fun. Loved it.
Lets face it guys, these golf designers have left a great legacy,it doesn't have to be 8000 yards to make it difficult..btw fantastic vlog once again
True that michael brooks!// Mike #golfholics 🤙
I love when you play with this foursome, these are the best you have!! All are awesome.
Guys, this is now my TV show, 15 minutes is a tease! Bring back the 30+ min format!

That is an amazing course. Full of history. Thank you for making this video.
Great history lesson. Course looks amazing! On par 4's and 5's with narrow fairways I like to go 5 wood and 4 hybrid. I still have problems keeping my driver straight.
Very interesting history, and top quality videos as usual.
What a course, with all those bunkers you certainly have to be confident with the length you hit each club.
Heard of the course, but that's about it. Looks a beaut. Enjoying the brief history lesson. Can't wait for part 2. Keep it up guys. 👍
Great vid as usual. Keep the great content coming.
AWESOME! Great looking track and congrats on breaking 10k subs guys! keep it up
Great vlog as always. This whole trip must've been so damn sweet. Some really great bunker shots by both of you as always. Keep up the good work!

Beautiful course. The mature monterry cypress trees reminded me of TPC Harding Park. If you guys ever come out to east county San Diego it would be great to see Steele Canyon or Salt Creek. Enjoyed the history portion as well, helps create a story
Great video as usual. This course looks amazing. I hope that offering you made to Alastair Mackenzie with your 5 iron pays off.
Subscribed a couple months ago. Enjoyed the history of the course.🇨🇦
I have never seen a video of Pasitiempo, the photos I've seen don't do it justice, well done.

History part was a nice touch. Great job.
Hey guys, would love to see some drone footage before the holes to get a better understanding of the course ! Great vids and background Infos are always nice.

Gorgeous looking course guys. Marko, when I started watching your vlogs Mike had 6 strokes on you. The way you're playing lately that's gotta be at least halved by now hasn't it?
We're down to about 4 strokes now. My game is definitely improving. Handicap went from 6.5 down to 4.8 in a matter of 3 months or so.
Great video!!!!!! ⛳️☘️⛳️☘️⛳️☘️⛳️☘️
Enjoyed that,thanks guys.
Went to a golf course yesterday and the tee box grass was better than some of the greens I play on. Just cut em a little shorter and you have teeing greens.
Just another interesting piece of history. When Alister Mackenzie died, his ashes were also spread over Pasatiempo. Sounds very fitting.
Wow what a place!
Awesome video as always! Curious, why didn't BeastMode and Mike's brother want to be part of the filming?
Cool history portion. great video overall.
Love the history!
Play grand cypress in Orlando! The new course ! It's a replica (ish) of St Andrews.

I'm looking for a new putter, but an older one so I can get one used for a little bit less. Maybe something like a taylormade daddy long legs?
That is a lot of bunkers, almost more per hole than my home course has in total on all 18.

Isn't the number 1 tee box(back) on top of the pro shop or maintenance bldg
Videos never disappoint! Awesome stuff! Enjoyed the history portion. Those greens look treacherous! Marko making some nice putts and mikes bunker game on point! Everyone make sure to Like, Comment, Share and Subscribe! Let's push this over 10k subs today!!!

its a really good course- could have been great but there are a few very average holes- particularly the hole that has Mackenzies house. that said, the top four holes from this course wold contend with any course in the world.
heard amazing things about this track.
It’s “Doctor” MacKenzie. You should read his book The Spirit Of St. Andrews, I just did and learned a lot. He was a character.
