Well here I am busting the crap out of my fingers on this Nutribullet Pro 900 Series. I am not wure why the activators locked up on this thing but I do not believe it was from liquid being spilled inside it. Anyway I took the tech support agents advice and used some warm water and a spoon. Presto and what do ya know it worked. I wish it was that easy to fix my vehicle lol.

Thanks for your help. Instead of a spoon, I used a flathead screwdriver and hammered it gently. Saved my finger and the Nutribullet now works again.

This sounds so stupid but I'm autistic and I get REALLY abnormally frustrated/anxious/scared/stressed when things don't work when I need them to. My Nutribullet stopped working suddenly tonight and I was trying so hard not to melt down. I Googled what to do and after watching a few videos, eventually came across yours. I tried what you suggested and it worked almost instantly. I cannot put into words how grateful I am. Thank you SO much!

Same girly & im not autistic. I wanted to scream! After buying the blendjet & it working for 2x and having to throw it away after spending $50.00 on it.
But yes this fixed my nutribullet balance thank you! ❤

My Nutribullet had been wrapped up in a packing box for over a year as I was homeless for a while after being bit by a Brown Recluse spider on the side of my left foot and not being found for 6 days while I layed on my kitchen floor. Before watching your video I had sprayed coconut cooking oil on the 3 activators but they were seriously stuck! I left everything for the night then used hot water after scrubbing the activators with soapy water. I ended up using a Phillips screwdriver and a can of soup as a hammer and it finally worked! Thanks so much! Also because I used the hot water a bunch of brownish liquid came through the bottom of the bullet so obviously there is yuckiness going on inside of mine but I am not going to take it apart, it's working and that is all that I care about right now. 😊👍

For the 1st time in 4 years, my Nutribullet would not work this morning. Watched your video, used a flat head screwdriver on each of the tabs and voila, it worked again so THANKS FOR THE GREAT AND USEFUL TIP !

I just tried this. Hurrah! It worked. I was ready to junk it after only 3 months of average use. You can just use a cloth soaked in not water, wring it out, put on white clip, then press down with small flat head screw driver, till it releases up and down again. Easy.

Had same problem of Nutribullet suddenly not working. In my case I had had a bit of spillage sometime ago but no problem afterwards. I checked the activators and, sure enough, one was stuck! I followed your advice of using a black tip screwdriver after carefully putting a few drops of boiling hot water and...Bingo! It worked! The activator got unstuck, I didn't damage any finger, so, Thanks a lot for the tip... Keep on the good work!

Gosh! Got up this morning and the nutribullet would not work. I realised that the tabs could not be depressed. I found this fantastic video and I had to use boiling water instead of warm water. I had to use more than just a few drops and, PRESTO!! As you showed us, a little pressure, not too much and it gave in. Brilliant! Thank you soooo much. All my stuff was cut up and ready to go and then I felt so stuck. God bless you!

First of all....the time it took to be able to even comment almost made me give up. But I really wanted to be able to comment on your video so I did all the sign up...password...double secret probation crap so that I could add my comments. I found your video after I had cleaned and boxed up my Nutribullet 900. I was ready to return it to the store but after seeing your video I thought, "What the heck". I did what you said...with the hot water and BAM! It worked!!!!! My Nutribullet is up an running and I thank you for the simple solution so that I did not have to deal with taking it back to the store....Thank You. People, this really works!

I had the same problem. Using the flathead screwdriver is a great choice. Instead of "spooning" water into the actuators, I put about 1 cm of warm water in a pan, and out the nutribullet upside down in the water for a few minutes. Then, pick it straight up, and let all the water drain out, don't turn it upright for a while. The stuck actuator loosened up, and it was good to go. Before plugging it in, I let the nutribullet stand upside down for a few hours near a heater just to make sure all the water had drained out....

    Thanks for your help.
I would agree.... My 900 had issues early in the beginning after purchased. Didn't have any issues with my 600... I did need to replace the blades.
I tried putting some drops of Dawn liquid soap and followed it by spraying some grapeseed oil (one of the videos mentioned using WD40 & I didn't have WD on hand) on it and letting it sit for a few minutes.
It think the oil really made more if a difference in getting the Activators to go up and down.
This also gave me a closer look at inside and saw it could use a could use a good cleaning to remove residue build up.
I Googled "NutriBullet Problems." This lead me to UA-cam videos.
Yep, love the UA-cam videos... Great for answers and for me spiritual and uplifting or inspirational videos.

  • @Martal140

(Update). A few days after successfully releasing the activators using warm water, the pesky things locked-up on me again REAL good; and this time I was 1,000% sure that there'd been no leaks or spillage in the meantime.
And so, moving to plan B, I tried squirting a small amount of WD40 into the 3 activator slots, as some have suggested -- though with the Bullet on its side so no oil ended up in the electric motor, where.... please note based on personal and scary experience!..... it could catch fire -- and pushed down gently on each nylon switch in turn using a wooden chopstick (less likely to slip than a spoon or screwdriver) until all 3 were totally free again. And they've remained so for almost a month now.
So it turns out that if the problem was caused by leakage/spillage you should use warm water, but if it's purely mechanical you should some some kind of penetrating oil (WD40, Liquid Wrench, 3 in 1, etc) to lubricate the 3 sprung-loaded switches. And sometimes, like me, you'll need to do both!
Thanks for staying on the case, NBT!

  • @gigihonee

turn to the side, use very warm side. pour water over using a spoon, push activator using a object such as a phillips screwdriver, or pliers. Have a paper towel or cloth nearby. You can use the cloth over the activator while you use object that your using to push the activator to absorb the water and food particles.
The activators can get stuck because of juice/particles getting clogged. Took 5 minutes. Mine is working. We use our Nutribullet 900 series 1-2x a day for the last 2, maybe 3 years.

Thank you for this video. I know it is a few years old but it is still very relevant to my situation today. I too am having the same exact issue with my Nutri-bullet pro. Although, I had a very helpful customer service rep so I was lucky there. I did try to clean these previously but I was afraid to put to much pressure on the activators because I wasn't even sure that was the problem - now I know. Oh, and I absolutely agree with you that it can't always be due to juice or whatever causing those to stick. My Nutri-bullet hasn't worked since the day I took it out of the box and it was due to the activators not depressing when placing the canister on the base. Thank you again for this helpful video.

On my nutribullet it was just a matter of cleaning the one tab that triggers the motor and not the other two which don't seem to do anything other than help seat the cup. Warm vinegar worked better than water. Held it over the edge of the sink. Use an eye dropper to squirt the warm vinegar.

I generally take apart my classic every 6 months to check for any spillage into the motor area. Those activators are the trickiest part to reassemble the base. They are on springs. I clean them, and put white lithium grease on them so they slide effortlessly and will repel any liquid from binding them.

Thanks for posting this!! One of the activators was stuck on my sister's Nutribullet when she went to use it tonight. Some cooking oil, a flat head screwdriver got it loose after a few minutes. Now enjoying the smoothie my sis atarted to make!

Holy s#!t it worked!!!! 😂😂😂 I used an eyedropper to get the water into the grooves, and used boiling hot water... Applied the water and used the tip of a screwdriver to press the points down. And 1 was REALLY stuck! I had no idea!!!! Took a couple applications of water, and finally, I was able to unstick it and press it down! Genius!!!!!! Thank u for making this video!

Hey! Thanks for the info. Mine actually got stuck ON yesterday when I tried to remove the container after making a smoothie, and it almost destroyed the rubber 'gear' that is propelled by the round plastic impeller that didn't stop until I unplugged it.
Tried the few drops of water thing, didn't work. So I took a small flat Rubbermaid container wide enough to fit the top of the 900 mechanism, filled it with about a quarter inch of hot water, turned the motor housing upside and put it in the hot water to soak for five minutes. Still had to use a spoon edge to push the activators down, but now it works again!

It worked great! Thanks. You should perhaps redo the video and suggest two things: Fill a bowl with warm water and turn the bullet upside down, while turning it through the bowl of water. Also, stick a wash clothe inside so you don't hurt your fingers while you're using the spoon. Thanks again!

Thanks for the fix, hoss! My original Nutribullet stopped working like this almost a year ago while still under warranty. They sent me a replacement and told me to throw the old one away. Couldn't bring myself to do that, so it's been sitting on the counter with a bag over it ever since, waiting for me to get around to taking it apart. After checking out your video, I tried the warm water and spoon bit and viola, I now have two working units! Guess I can leave one at the office now... :-)

Thank you so much for this video. I had no clue what was wrong with my 900. It was so hard to press the cup down to get it started that I just went back to my 600. Then I gave my 600 to a friend and was resigned to having problems with the 900. After watching your video, I put the base down in a shallow bowl of warm water and used a flathead screwdriver and viola, it worked like a champ! I could not be happier!! It was stress free making my shake this morning! You rock.

Thanks for this, NBT -- worked like a charm!
Though, since I didn't like the idea of water running down into the motor either, I turned it over and rested the top lip on a towel as I lightly spritzed the tabs with warm water from our plant mister before gently pushing down on each one in turn with the heftiest allen wrench on my hex set (the spoon suggestion made no sense to me!!!).
And, lo and behold, after a couple of go-rounds of spritzing and pushing, all 3 started moving freely again, so I was able to pat down the area with the towel and allow everything to dry out completely in its spot on the counter. Now 'good as new', just as promised!

This worked for me, I had two stuck activators. I used a dropper for the water and the handle of a butter knife instead of a spoon and gave it a couple good whacks after the warm water and it worked. Now I'm having my pineapple smoothie. :)

This video was, also, helpful for me! I used a few spoonfuls of the warm water like you mentioned, a flathead screwdriver, and a bit of strength. Was worried I'd slip while applying pressure and hurt myself. But alas! Smoothies! Thank you for this informative video!!
