I love hearing you. I feel like we are sitting together having a lovely conversation. You are amazing Mikko. Also I loved getting to see how you work from start is great. Thank you for sharing Mikko
This is such an awesome message. I find it mind-boggling that your painting is able to develop so deeply with your sketching style! You're able to keep everything loose and sporadic while my sketching style needs to be tight and answer every single design, pattern, and posing question! I wish I was as loose as you! :D It's fascinating how different everyone's process is. The way we artists make marks and what that means to us. this video was amazing. Thank you so much for sharing
My paintings are always messy at the beginning too! And when planning the colors it looks bad on the screen, but makes it so I can visualize the result perfectly so it's really helpful. Great video as always!
Thank you so much! Your point opens up a whole new way to see the creative process of digital painting. I'm someone who's never satisfied with my lineart, and put a lot of pressure on myself because of that. This may just be my remedy! Much appreciated
This is great to see how you work. I think with all the social media, there is a lot of pressure to have it look amazing through the whole process, but that's not how many artists really work. Most of my best work started out very rough, and was supposed to be something just for fun. Stuff I set out to do as a 'serious work' is usually stiff and never gets finished because either I don't like it or it gets too boring. It's also difficult to make adjustments when the sketch is too tight.
I have learned that it requires a lot of courage to post crappy sketches or drawings so congratulations. I think it really helps people like me who really aren't where they want yet and seeing all the pretty drawings from other people can be a little overwhelming. Thank you.
This is a brilliant video. Wish you knew my art teacher when I took it. I did drawing like you so I’d never get bogged down by sketching. Liked my painting but I wasn’t a “sketcher”. Thank you for this, Mikko. You have given me my art back.
This is wonderful! Thank you so much! I'm currently struggling with a project I'm working on, and I'm exactly at the stage where I'm worried about the line art, so this came at just the right time!
This was very inspiring, thanks a lot for sharing your process and your thougts with us. I agree with the "Keep doing what you love", and all I can say in the end is that your art (and this painting in particular) is beautiful.
Thank you. I didn’t realize this topic would be so... controversial on ig. Because this topic was so hard to put into words maybe I should have realized that it might press the same buttons on other people as well. Thank you for stopping by and I think that sentence “keep doing what you love” should be said more often among artists. It’s certainly more helpful than keep going or keep it up.
Thank you. I've made 2 videos on how to make palettes on this channel. They're not popular videos but that's what I do. The palettes are really only good for the first 15% of the process and after that the painting will inform what it needs from that point onwards. I use palettes in almost all of my livestreams so in one of those you can spot when I ditch the palette in favor of the subject and mood of the piece.
@@angrymikko thank you for replying. i’m sorry for asking when you already have videos on it, i saw one of the videos in my recommended a few days after i commented this, they helped a lot. thank you. also, your videos are amazing !

Thanks - I just found your interview on the Procreate site.
What tool did you use on procreate for the colour when you first started applying colour
Just a brush for the whole thing
Sketching is planning
Drawing is drawing
how do you pick your colours so well?
