Clip popped up in my IG feed & was beyond surprised to hear A Minor Forest. Instantly new it would be a great short film. To the critics, using a music analogy, not everything has to be a glam rock mega production…those flaws aren’t flaws…that’s soul. Touché Jake Price and K2 for focusing on the art and soul of riding. Lastly, as a long time AMF fan would love to hear from Jeff on how decided on the soundtrack.
Stereotypical slow motion pow shots. I guess this was good for a 5 minute nap. I’m gonna go watch on3p 6 again. I’ll come back when you bring the hellbents back.
Awww man, I love K2, but you‘re losing me with this. Uninspired, kind of boring. I like the hit at 1:52 and the two last ones, but nothing would make the cut in an msp movie. Using 16mm sounds amish to me. Music is the opposite of uplifting. Sorry, just being honest and say my opinion without being asked. That music is out of time, like out of subject haakonsen. Happy for all those who like this. I know you can do better ❤️
Are we on year 3 or 4 now of K2 having jumped on the bandwagon of producing purposely low quality grainy, low contrast videos? Because it's "on trend"? (an abysmal trend) Which then consequently doesn't adequately represent the information that's trying to be represented. Seems counterintuitive. How many Candide Thovex videos do you see him releasing that have this grainy, purposely low quality video footage? Zero. How many millions of views do his videos get? Many. Isn't the purpose of marketing material to get as many views as possible? Yes. Aren't you guys a brand that thinks outside the box and does your own thing, you're not bandwagon jumpers? Apparently not. By destroying the video quality you are destroying your viewership, no one wants to fully watch through a video of this garbage quality. Do you guys have a secret agenda to try to not get views and try not to sell skis? Because that's what you're doing with these videos, no one can bear watching this dumpster dive quality footage. Maybe take example from the GOAT's of the world? Shoot in 4K, heck, 8K. Have it be cinematic, epic quality footage, even for just a marketing pieceinstead of taking example from awful trends of the world just because "everyone is producing garbage quality footage." Just a thought, if selling product is something you're into, if it isn't, you're good. Love you guys!
Thanks for the rant but I disagree. I value relatability and reality over "epic" and "cinematic" . I like stuff that makes me want to do on my own terms, not just unattainable skiporn.
Couldn’t disagree with you more. This is shot on a film camera, 16mm most likely. Have you any idea how challenging it is to shoot ski projects on film? You lose much of the opportunity for multiple hits/attempts on a feature. It challenges both the filmer and athlete to nail it first try. Kudos to the crew for this one!
@@micahevangelista6342 I never once mentioned the lack of skill in shooting 16mm, I agree the footage caught is skilled, no doubt but again, you're missing the purpose of my comment & the video. This video isn't a demonstration video on the skill of shooting 16mm footage, it's a representation video of the skiers skiing skills & approach to natural terrain and the tools they're using for sliding down the mountain (K2's), ultimately this videos purpose is to sell skis for K2, let's not be naïve, and there is no problem with that! It's called capitalism. It's nearly impossible to demonstrate this videos purpose due to the garbage quality of footage. The lack of video quality is a disrespect to the athletes, it doesn't showcase them in the way it should have & could have. This is my opinion and I feel it's the majority, which should be your focus. Therein lies the problem. So many brands over the recent years keeps putting out these garbage bandwagon crap image quality vids just because it's the currently trend and I'm over it, I just want brands to hear the opinions of others such as mine, who aren't on their crap bandwagon. Anything any brand posts is ultimately about increasing traffic to their products to sell more and when you pigeon hole yourself because your marketing is bad that = No $ which = no K2. Ya'll can trash my opinion because it's just that, or, you could listen and separate yourself from all the trendy garbage footage quality that's currently being produced and produce epic quality 4k/8k footage like Candide does or Markus Eder's Ultimate Run. You're never getting Candide or Markus Eder views with 16mm quality footage, just due to the lack of image quality, sorry, it's never happening. Sam Kuch deserves better, he's an amazing athlete, he could grab big views if you did him justice. You can shoot epic quality 4k/8k crystal clear footage in the same time as you shot this vid with your 16mm. Again, love you guys, but you have to be willing to listen to others opinions too, at least with a grain of salt.
Ultra steez! Love the last stomp, getting me stoked for this winter. Nice filming 🤘

Good eye! This was shot entirely on 16mm film this past winter. There's a method to the madness :)
