Awesome day when you have great catches getting close to that 250 mark and also catching a trap thief and getting your tracks back. I know you were pumped. Happy for you buddy on everything you accomplished. God bless you Luke. You’re amazing.
Glad you got your equipment back. I don't know why people mess with stuff that isn't theirs. We delt with that for a while to the point I was checking that spot multiple times a day just to see if I could catch who was messing with them. Come on 250!
Nothing worse than a thief. Hopefully you got law enforcement involved. Great to see you meeting your goals. I was hoping to catch one beaver this year. I caught two.
One of three reasons for the cut-off.... 1: You raided Iowa Trappers closet. 2: Didn't want to show blood evidence from the trap thief encounter. 3: Suns out Guns out, gotta get the female viewership up.....
Great job bud.glad you caught the thief . hope you put the fear of God into them.its a felony here to mess with a trap that is not yours..til next time 😊
I wash em off in the creek when I catch em. I keep up skinning pretty easy on beavers. Raccoons in the first week is the only struggle I have to keep up with haha
Fantastic job as usual Luke. Let us know if the thief gave the stuff back voluntarily or had to be confronted by officials with the thought of fine and jail.
I gave him one of two options either to give me my gear back within an hour of the DNR we’re gonna be at his house and give him 1000$ worth of fines (that’s what it would have been per state law). Thankfully I got them back within 30 minutes and went on my way
Could never quite understand that: people helping themselves to someone else's private property. I keep thinking about how many thousands and thousands of beavers there must have been building dams all over the place in that area 200 years ago or so? That is amazing to me 250 beaver trapped.
Honestly I believe we have more beavers now in Iowa than we did hundreds of years ago. It is the same thing as raccoons and deer. The agriculture in Iowa provides so much food for these animals that their populations have grown rapidly with the increasing abundance of food.
Isn't it illegal to mess with other people's traps? Did you guys press any charges? That clown needs to be taught a lesson. First your raccoon traps get stolen now you beaver traps. Is it the same guy? Glad you got your stuff back.
Not the same guy. He got the equipment back to me while I was still in the area so I didn't press charges. Had he tried to get away with it it would have been about $1000 worth of fines
They do millions of dollars in damage every year and I harvest them to sell basically every part of the animal you can think of. If we do not manage the populations of these animals, they will be overpopulated and disease will cause the animals to suffer and die.
They won't because the water is still pretty cool. That being said, I wouldnt let them sit there any longer. In this heat I'm skinning them the second I get home and then scraping them to avoid any slippage

Sucks when people mess with our traps. Glad you got it back
Glad you got your traps back. People need to leave their hands off of things that aren’t theirs. Another great day of beaver trapping!
Glad you got it back, I never did manage to track down my old antique victor that got nabbed this last season

Yep I was pleased to get it back without having to get the law involved for sure!
I'm glad you caught the thief and got your traps back. Great job on the beavers.

Nice congrats! I gave the guy an hour to return my gear or else I was calling the DNR… safe to say I had my gear back in 30 minutes and was on my way!
Nice job as always! Glad you got your traps back. Not much worse than a thief.
Thanks! I agree I hate thieves!

Great job bud.glad you caught the thief . hope you put the fear of God into them.its a felony here to mess with a trap that is not yours..til next time 😊

Awesome work.. are you washing them before skinning.? In that heat it cant be to easy keeping up with the skinning i bet

Glad you got the traps back. Just don’t understand why people do stuff like that.
Nothin worse than a thief!
Creeks are starting to flow
Good glad to hear it! Hopefully you’ll get out soon!
Finally got a couple of sets in here. River is at flood stage.
Good luck!
Awesome job and glad you got your stuff back! Do you put all your beaver up or sell green?
I put em up
I would never say anything about your shirt ! I dont like to pick at ya ! 🤣
sure sure lolol!
Do you just use TS-85's or do you have others?
Nice catch!
I just seen a#4 at the end
I use a few #4s. I figure they have a better shot at catchin beaver in a creek than sitting in my shop! Everything else is all TS85s

@@nextgentrapper1000 Christ, 2 thieves in your trap line. Man that sucks.
Trapping is such a puasy kid thing you are not strong enough to stay out and hunt the real way. You're weak
Ur saying this to a guy that’s killed 3 whitetails over 165 in the last 4 years. Lol go find someone else to make prejudgement insults to
Why catch beavers? Are you eating them or something?
Do you realize the kind of damage they do? Go educate yourself.
@@Tommyr That's why I asked. Calm down.

@@nextgentrapper1000 Thank you, makes perfect sense.
Glad you got your trap back. amost 250, amazing
i hope you made sure he will never touch your stuff again
You're going to have to build yourself a refrigerated shed to keep your critters in. Got to 72 on my side of the state.
Perfect

They won't because the water is still pretty cool. That being said, I wouldnt let them sit there any longer. In this heat I'm skinning them the second I get home and then scraping them to avoid any slippage
