I LOVE those gobbler pics! It’s almost turkey season here in Arkansas. I’m fired up! That gift of the golf tee tampers is wonderful! We had tornadoes here last night. My aunt’s house in Wynne, AR was completely destroyed. She is in a nursing home, so she wasn’t physically harmed. Stay safe, especially on Fridays! Cliff
Hey Brian, Yep, we got the winds last night. Your pictures are always interesting, not always nice, but the pictures remind me of a storm we had last summer. Trees down everywhere and no power for 6 days! Pressure change causing these high winds but at least it's finally 55F. Great review, I ordered the S & G (1oz.) Dark Unscented, back when S & P had it in stock. It was a nice and cool smoke (had some this morning), but you sure are right, eat a big breakfast.
Glad to see you liked the Gawith & Hoggarth blends. My favorites from their lines are Brown Flake Unscented, Bright CR Flake, Scotch Flake, Best Brown # 2, Louisiana Flake, Ennerdale flake, & all the ropes right after dinner. If you are still looking for Louisiana Flake to try, 4noggins have some but only in 8oz increments. If you ask me, it's well worth getting it. Cheers my friend.
Good morning/afternnoon and happy Saturday my friend. You got some decent blends there to try. Luckily last nights snow missed us. Busy morning myself hence why I'm a little late today. Have a good one.
I’m at the southern tip of Indiana. Been experiencing the same weather pattern as you. The tornado situation yesterday was intense. The wind is howling today. I’m over this.
Hiyas Brian, I love Dark Flake-U!!! I too pick up a very slight rose geranium flavor profile from this one. That's fine, I also enjoy Dark Flake-A. We got nailed here in Chicagoland last night (Friday) high winds and heavy rains. Baton down the hatches! Pipe On ✓ Gary
Awesome thoughtful gift! Thanks for the review, I started smoking a pipe learning this blend but I haven’t gone back to it, I need to crack that jar soon! I love the Gawith blends, always quality. Be safe out there.
Hey Brian! Praying all is well with you and yours! That surprise delivery from one of your subscribers is absolutely inspiring! God bless you, buddy! 🙏
Smoking Dark Birdseye shag cut right now. One of my favorites. Also love Dark Flake, both scented and unscented. Great content as always Brian! And you nailed it on Gawith Hoggarth taking the place of Latakia. Exact same for me too.
Thanks for sharing another Saturday with us! I tried some GH blends recently, and I have to say I’m a fan. Stay safe out there, hoping you don’t lose power, and it’s all over quickly. All the best, my friend.
Love it Brian, glad to watch anybody enjoying fantastic tobacco ;-). Snowed here Friday, sunny and warm on Saturday and ice due on Tomorrow, what fun! Ennerdale's a classic but I don't know if you're going to enjoy it (pretty hefty on the flavouring). Dark Flake always reminds me of equine work for some reason. It takes me back to tacking up the gee gees as a young lad. A solid favorite, but stout stuff that goes well with a nice pint of guiness if that's your poison.
Good luck on the weather front! Here in metro New Orleans we’ve had a shift as well. The last 5-10 years we’ve become sort of a “tornado alley producing ef2’s and 3’s which is uncommon in this area. I think the earths axis has shifted or something! Dying to try some HG I’m saving pennies for the day! Thanks for what you do
That whole factory is ghosted…lol. #7 is great with little age. BE is great and so is Kendal Kentucky. Kendal flake is one I keep coming back to as is Bobs chocolate. All the dark stuff is a home run for me. That ennerdale is one of my favorite’s but it’s very high on the Lakeland scale. Great review. Those shag cuts are hard to beat for a quick smoke.
One of my favorite all time tobaccos at the moment. Such flavor and it packs quite a wallop with the nic hit. Anyways always enjoy your videos and your opinions on the baccy.
I just watched Cliff's video ..... unbelievable damage. That is a lot of tobacco and you have more coming ? And the gift of the tee-tampers was very generous.
Dark Birds Eye is a very tasty blend Brian. Number of other GH blends I've tried in the last 5-6 months I found very tasty. I must say that they know how to make tasty blends, especially VA/KEN. Cheers, Janez
Misery loves company! My power here in Louisville went out in the wee hours this morning, but came back on around sunrise. When I woke up again, around 10 o'clock, it was back out! Happily it wasn't like a Friday night 4 weeks ago, when it went out for the whole weekend! The lights came back on about 2 o'clock this afternoon. You can handle more nicotine than I, my friend.
Other then the Facetime we did on Saturday with you I don't think anyone made a video. I love Dark Flake unscented one of my favs. I have the Dark Birds Eye in shag cut and vintage cut (ribbon) along with both cuts of Kendall Kentucky. Hope the weekend upcoming will be better for you.
Good stuff bro- still new pipe smoker, here, but been trying a bunch of GH/SG blends of late, along w Peterson/Dunhill; can certainly tell why classics/mainstays👍
Thank you for sharing I’m going to try a few of these blends. I have tried the ennerdale you showed it’s a punch of flavour. Myself personally, found it a tad soapy but all in all a great smoke. Enjoy!
Thanks for another H&G review. Coniston has that perfumy soapy Lakeland essence for me. Not unbearable but not an everyday smoke for sure. I have a very old tin of Ennerdale that I’ve put off trying for ages. I guess I’ll give it a go after you review it. Gulp.
This is a good review. The stuff is one dimensional in a good way. It burns okay once you get it going, it's a straight ahead smoke. I prefer the dark flake aromatic because it's more fun to sip on. But the dark flake unscented is a no nonsense tobacco blend. Full of flavors. How can I ship you a sample gift? I have something I want to be reviewed and crtiqued on.
Dark flake is my favorite tobacco. I always said that it has everything I like in one blend. It is smoky like any good Latakia, it has strong burley inside and sweet Virginia. What else do one need? Have a wonderful day! Silviu 👍
I enjoy the Dark Flake but prefer the Coniston Cut Plug. I will order some of Bob's Chocolate Flake to try soon. The Dark Bird's Eye is good and has plenty of kick. The high winds have been down here in Greenbrier County, WV for a few hours. Had to take a few minutes to pick up things that got blown around the yard. The lights flickered off for a minute but good so far.
Lol ,, you're trying to avoid the Lakeland essence,, well that Ennerdale is not gonna work for you at all.. I love it as a special treat !! Make that Ennerdale your next video,, I can't wait..
@@beans316 I wish I could tell you. I have to avoid almost all dark flakes,, something about the nicotine content in a dark flake is different for me and they make me sick. I can handle high nicotine content blends with no problem but not dark flakes which stinks because there's several dark flakes that I consider my favorites... Ennerdale is among the most Lakelandy Lakelands to my nose so you should hate it.. lol
I just had my second bowl of Ennerdale, I think it’s quite good. As far as I know, I’m sane. So people who say you have to be crazy to like the stuff, I might need a professional evaluation. 😊
In my world of pipe tobacco Ennerdale is something else all together. I love the stuff. But then I also really like Cornell and Diehl's Gentleman Caller.
Absolutely sorry I will definitely go next time I just would rather go when more people are going, I’m always pressed for time working full time and pipe making on the weekends

Ironically I started my G&H trials just before you. I tried DFU today and liked it as you (6.5). This morning I tried Brown Twist and did not like it. Seemed too strong. Are you seeing that the browns seem stronger than the blacks? Or is it sporadic. ?
So far I think the Dark flake unscented was my strongest but I still liked it , really like Bobs Chocolate, Brown flake unscented and Coniston cut plug
