Hi friends! A quick reminder not to post spoilers for "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes". The book isn't out in many countries yet, and won't be for another few weeks, so it's incredibly inconsiderate. Also, many of you have been asking when I'll make videos about it. I won't be making videos about it until the movie adaptation is released, as this firstly gives everyone time to buy and read the book, and secondly will allow us to use the secondary canon that is a movie to base ideas off of. Thank you and happy bubbles!

At the end of the hunger games book, i thought were going to crown Katniss victor because she had more kills. It was my first time reading the hunger games, so i thought that the capitol was going to bomb Peeta and crown Katniss as victor.
I think if they were to bomb somebody it would be Katniss because she was the one that pulled out the berrys and then crown Peeta victor. Snow even said it himself in Catching Fire.
@@kijones8883 - Yeah, but in the first book, the Capitol tried to give the impression that the Games were somehow sacred and that no matter who the victor was, they’d honor it, almost like it was a religious ritual with great cultural significance or something. It wasn’t until near the end of Book 1 and going into Book 2 that it was revealed that the President and the people in charge see the Games as nothing more than a tool, and they’re willing to change and manipulate it in whatever way that suits their agenda.
a crazy and unlikely thing they could do is make a “mutt” that acts like the dead victor to trick people. That is my crazy idea. It probably wouldn’t work though.
I disagree, since the game maker killed himself after having to crown two victors. This just demonstrates how important a victor was and that he didn’t do it just to spare the capital favourites but rather because he failed in fulfilling the objectives of the game. Although the books doesn’t explore this, the movie puts an emphasis on the importance of hope. Since Collins worked to make the movie it’s likely that this is what she intended to allude to when crowning two victors. I also think your theory isn’t right because the games never spared anyone else before; never mind for the sake of popularity. Even in the 2nd book a “pregnant” woman, valued capital commodities, skilled workers, siblings and physical/mentally scared individuals were sent in to the games (although there were special circumstances). This just makes it even harder to believe that Katniss and Peeta were spared for the sake of popularity.
I disagree. The Capitol citizens have no influence on the actions of the Capitol elite. Katniss was "pregnant", yet they continued with the games even despite their protest. The citizens do care, but not enough to warrant a threat to the capitol.
I would have to disagree solely because that's just not good TV and, in essence, the hunger games is just a reality TV show. People watch reality TV to root for and then see a winner so it wouldn't be far fetched to have 2 winners as opposed to none if it means better entertaining the audience. Think of how frustrating it would be to watch a whole season of Rupaul's Drag Race only for no queen to be crowned the winner (as an example), however that's just my opinion
Well, I agree that they would rather have two victors than no survivors, but not because of Katniss' and Peeta's popularity, but because of the districts. How do you think they would have reacted if there were no victors? Then there would be no hope for anyone, and Snow himself stresses the importance of hope when people are unsatisfied with the world. It might not have sparked a rebellion, but I think people would have rioted in some ways more than normal

What if Thresh killed Katniss? 6. What if the Morphling didn’t defend Peeta from the monkey mutts? 7. What if Peeta fell with Cato into the mutts? 8. What if Peeta didn’t join the Careers?
I like number 1. That has always been a question I had. Sorry Peeta.....but I would have, it was a big risk to think the Capital would crown them both. Have you seen How The Hunger Games Should Have Ended? I wouldn’t have risked it, especially knowing how psychotic the Capital was and that murder doesn’t effect them like normal people.
Did no one realize how strong Beetee was he took 1 or 2 knives to the back. He’s actually very smart and in his game I think he did get a couple of kills from brute force and not from the electrocution
In the case of Katniss and Peeta, could they just kill whoever had less kills in the games and then just have the person who did better be the victor? So Katniss would have won.
As someone who has dealt with PTSD (not going into why) as well as a few other issues, I feel like, in a way, everyone dies in that arena. It doesn’t matter if you survive or not. You lose a part of yourself, and I would argue that you lose some of the best parts, if you end up a survivor. Watching other kids die and/or killing them yourself would take something out of you. Peeta said it in Mockingjay. He said that in the Games, you only get one wish, but the cost of that wish is very high. Caesar says that it costs you your life, to which Peeta replies, “It costs you more than your life. It costs you everything you are.” Admit it, you’ve wanted to kill someone. We all have, I won’t judge you. But wanting to kill someone and actually going through with it are two very different things, and when you think about it, most serial killers usually have other severe mental problems that would impair judgment or hinder their morals. Long story short, I think that there truly is no victors in the Hunger Games, only survivors. And we don’t even know how many of them ended up committing suicide or something when they returned home.
I agree because in catching fire Haymitch addresses this when Katniss states, “No one decent ever wins the games.” And Haymitch replies “No one ever wins the games, there are survivors.”
Lacey Esquino and he’s right. Peeta said it almost perfectly. “It costs more than [your life]. It costs everything you are.” I sure as hell wouldn’t call myself a winner knowing that I have the blood of innocent kids on my hands.
@@StoryDiver True. I think that various tributes like Millicent Porter could have died very shortly after the games from injuries sustained in the games.
It was an cool idea but it’s not part of the Canon timeline. Katniss herself says “whoever devised the Quarter Quell system had prepared for centuries of Hunger Games,” which tells us that the before the 25th games, the Quarter Quell system was already in place.
They give the districts hope to control them but then break their hopes by saying "even the strongest cannot overcome the power of the capitol" and get angry when the uprising happens.
I believe Haymitch collapsed on the ground knowing that the axe would be coming back but in doing so I do believe it actually injured him a little bit more and that’s when he starts convulsing on the ground
I would LOVE to see something like this in the Hunger Games: A hologram that has the proprieties to take a piece of DNA from the tributes and makes an artificial soul you can talk to, for example I would really want to talk to Clove, Glimmer and Cato. Although this is impossible it would be nice as a victor to get closure with a tribute that you killed, or maybe apologize. Its very far fetched.
@@StoryDiver Have you ever wanted to talk to one of the tributes? And learn their backstory and such. I mean I could ask Suzanne but what are the chances of her responding to me anyway. I dont even think she has social media.
That sounds so cool!! Although, I don’t see the Capitol doing that for victors. I could however see that being invented after the Mockingjay rebellion to help the remaining victors deal with their PTSD.
I think that one would have died before the other and since the capitol needs to have there victor they would try to revive the person who died or is on the erg of death and they other person came is second. But idk
For example, Annie Cresta survived when a flood came into the arena drowning the rest of the tributes. She became a victor because she was the only one able to swim. You talked about the idea of no winners. If Annie didn’t know how to swim, there would be no victors?
One of the earlier hunger games had no surviving victor. The one that was in an amusement park, there was a fight at the top of the Feris wheel and there were the final two at the top fighting and one killed the other, making them the victor but then they fell off breaking all their bones. This means there was no victor that year. Also i would rate have 2 victors than no victor, but tbh i would rather their would be no hunger games. love your videos
I think that this likely happened early on in the Games, and the Capitol introduced precautions to ensure that a non-victor Games never happened. It was largely successful, unless of course the last remaining tributes threatened suicide (as Katniss and Peeta did), thus checkmating the Gamemakers. Great job, I always look out for your videos and am so delighted to see your channel growing!
I’ve actually thought about this a lot I think they would be so desperate for a winner that they would literally do anything in their power to help the dying tribute if they did die they would probably do as you said and do a remembrance tour but if they had found out that the victor was a rebel they might not do so , they might just cancel it make up loads of excuses or just say something on the capitol tv,by the way I love your channel love you so much ❤️❤️❤️
they’d blow up into smithereens. if all tributes stepped off, they’d be blown up and potentially die. it’s mentioned by cinna in the movie and somewhere in the book i believe.
I would say it's better to have 2 tributes win from the same district, than from differing districts. I do agree with the "do everything possible to keep 1 tribute alive." I mean it would be safe to assume that they could easily heal a tribute, I mean an injection or salve that can heal an infected wound or cut, and replace the skin in the area within a small amount of time is pretty advanced.
In the book katniss told a story about how a girl dropped her wooden ball token and got exploded even though she didn’t step off her platform. So what would the consequences (if there were any) for any tribute who used this to their advantage? Like if someone had a similar token that was mildly heavy and found themself on a platform right next the a career, and they threw their token and blew that person up because the mines would blow them up even if they weren’t on the platform. Or maybe they blew up everything in the cornucopia? They could use shoes and other clothes as well if they had a death wish. How would the capitol react?? 🤔🤔🤔
I'm not sure about this, but I think that if they threw something outside of their platform, they would blow up. Like do they have motion sensors up there that would detect the object leaving their platform and, therefore, blow up the person who threw the object. Idk if that's right or how that works but I mean...you'd get one person out? Before you died?
Rue could have used her slingshot and a bunch of metal balls to illegally kill as many people as she could. I wonder if the capital would have killed her?
But I also have to admit, even watching the games would give me issues. The idea of Haymitch having to hold his intestines in his body makes me want to get reacquainted with my lunch (I’d rather not, I had a delicious turkey on rye for lunch)
Cirrus quell killed him self at the end of his games which led to the quarter quell to be created. Suzanne needs to make that canon cause it makes so much sense
if i had saw that 2 tributes won i would make it my own lil mission for each year one more victor is alive so 3 then 4 then 5 etc.. until one year 24 tributes refused to fight and stayed somewhere where all or none would die against the mutts or 'natural' disasters.
There was one game mention where most of the tributes froze to death because the arena was a woodless snowscape. Katniss also mentions how there was barely a victor due to them almost dying from hypothermia.
I think that if both final tributes were severely injured and were in a verge of dying the game makers would chose who dies and who lives. Then controlling the arena to kill the other one (like sending a wild animal or a tree falling). This gives a real winner that they can save
Haymitch collapsing part was wrong. He ducked because he knew the weapon would bounce back. Like the part of him tossing the rock and surprised it came back. So he knew the axe would come back and hurt her was his only way of winning.
I think the medical stuff they have in the capitol and advanced technology would be able to save the victor and the trackers they put on the tributes could send them information about their health and other information
It must be very reassuring to be from one of the districts that has careers knowing that even if you get called somebody else is going to volunteer for you
I think having no survivors is more likely than we think. For example, in the 74th hunger games, Cato, Katniss and Peeta could all be killed by the mutts quite easily, and potentially in a way that means they can’t be resuscitated
Really cool and interesting video! There is definitely a huge possibility that there could have been a games with no victor. I’d love to see a video discussing how the story could have been different if Katniss and her mother got along from the beginning. I was just rereading the start of Catching Fire and thought of how cool it could have been if Katniss and her mom bonded over them feeling overwhelmed and unable to deal with their circumstances, since Katniss felt a lot of pressure about the Victory Tour and her mother had gone through a depression after Mr. Everdeen was killed. Thanks again for your amazing videos! They are all so creative and I love watching them!
This is a really interesting concept! I like how you mentioned that the Capitol would paint it as 'a true victor, giving their life in memory of the war' when really it was another child killed in the Games. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that were to happen.
It could be very likely that there would be no victor of a Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is literally just a fight to the death, and even if you don't die in the arena, the victor would still be scarred for life and practically dead inside anyway. This can be seen in the finale before Cato falls off the Cornucopia and dies from the mutts, and he says that he was 'dead anyways' and 'always was'. Also, the last tribute could possibly realize this before they are out of the arena, and they could decide to kill themselves with nightlock berries or something because they know that life will be hell after they become a victor. It really depends on the arena, the tributes, and the Gamemakers' decisions in the Games.
Yes because as soon as I saw the title of the video I I automatically thought about Annie’s hunger games and how they flooded the arena, like weren’t they thinking that everyone could die from this. Plus I believe that earlier in the hunger games that they had years were everyone died but they realized that this was bad idea to have a no winner because the capitals people wanted a winner and it would be a wast of a show and arena if everyone died
I think if all tributes (including the "victor") die in the arena, the head gamemaker would probably die next ... we've seen what happens to them if they mess up.
Belgianhunter 10 exactly! and the rebellion would’ve started much earlier since there is a difference between dying in the games without hope of surviving and putting your life in the line to live a better life.
This reminds me of another of your videos where you talked about what the third quarter quell would be, maybe one could be that there was no victor, they had to live in the arena until they died from a 'natural disaster' or malnutrition to show that it was the capitol that won the rebbelion.
i'd love to read a canon book about haymitch's experience in the quarter quell. that'd be so interesting. actually, i'd love to read about how all the victors from catching fire won (especially johanna, wiress, beetee, finnick, and enobaria)
literally saw one video and im hooked! Also, I think you’re a really good youtuber and just a good person im general, because you reply to practically every comment and I can tell just by the way you talk!
Your channel is so underrated, i really want to thank you for putting time in making all these fantastic videos! They help entertain me when I’m feeling down, thank you keep going!
Like in the 74th hunger games where they sent out mutts for the finale and tributes were forced to climb onto the cornucopia, what if they all fall into the mutts and die before the gamemakers send the mutts away?
i know i’m a bit late but i think they would still be victor, as all victors die eventually, just because they died before the victory tour and everything doesnt make them less of a victor than one that died a few years after they won
I think having no victor would have been good to see because even though the capitol should probably still twist the story it would also be a massive slap in the face. I wonder though, if his family refused to comply with the remembrance tour if the capital would still tortured them?
Wait. That would be an accidental suicide since she was the one that threw the weapon and it bounced back at her skull. But it could also be counted as a murder since the Capital had their forcefield up and the weapon bounced back and killed her.
Okay so what if a tribute pulled a stunt like in catching fire. Found a way to break the force field and runs away? How would the capital react. I just finished the series and I have questions!
I don't think the Capitol would allow for Games to have no Victor and would use any means necessary to steer one person into winning. Or if they are on the brink of death to keep them alive. I wouldn't be surprised if there were Victors who were drugged on painkillers to wihtstand the crowning ceremony (like Peeta was definitely one as days before he had his leg amuptated and given the prosthesis) and later would spend the rest of the time trying to recover enough before the tour and do what's expected of them.
I guess if they decided not eat the nightlock berries, Katniss would of run away because she wouldn't want to kill Peeta. So Peeta would have died from blood loss and that would make Katniss the Victor.
I feel like gamemakers would shorten the hunger games and chose the victor themselves if they noticed the danger of having no survivors. During his visit in District 12, Snow told Katniss that Seneca Crane could've blown one of them to bits but decided to spare both katniss and peeta as victors. So if gamemakers were quick enough to notice that no one was going to survive, they would expedite the process by shamelessly killing one of the tributes and rescuing the remaing one.
I believe that having 2 victors is better than having none. If there are two victors it means 1 more life Is saved than usual. Also, it means one more person can return home to there family. The down side of having two victors is that 2 people have to face the great life while watching their districts life in poverty. Plus, they would have to also survey through all the horrors the Hunger Games has left for them.
I actually think there was previously a Hunger Games that was victor-less, which was why the Gamemakers chose for Katniss and Peeta to survive together. They could have easily let them both die, yet they still chose to let them be a victor duo. They wouldn’t know the Capitol’s backlash if it hadn’t happened before and if it were to happen once again, that would explain Seneca’s choice.
Although the capitol really needs a victor and will do almost anything to have one if there were to be a game where there was none it could be like a reference to the war something like “in the war there was no such thing as a rebel victor they most died” or something like that
It's likely that the Capitol would come and take the last dead but not yet confirmed tributes out of the Arena and created a doppelganger of one of them as the Victor to have one, and then staged something like them dying due to sickness/wounds from the Arena after the Game so that they still have a Victor
I think Annie Cresta’s game would have been a better choice for no victor, the GameMakers lost control of the arena and the only reason there was a victor was because Annie could swim
So I know I am very late but I have a question What would happen if there wasn't a rule change after Rue's death? Peeta would probably die because Katniss wouldn't go look for him, but what then? 🤔

i’ve thought about this a lot! i definitely think their could be but it would be difficult to do without the capitol noticing and getting involved.
The Capitol would definitely notice and get involved!
For example, Annie Cresta survived when a flood came into the arena drowning the rest of the tributes. She became a victor because she was the only one able to swim. You talked about the idea of no winners. If Annie didn’t know how to swim, there would be no victors?
There would still be a victor, it would be whoever died last
Story Diver but that dosent make sense as there dead
@@eeeveisbae3679 Dead or not they lived the longest out of all of them and they need a Victor.
Stef M eh
i think the capitol wouldnt have made the flood if Annie couldnt swim, but idk
One of the earlier hunger games had no surviving victor. The one that was in an amusement park, there was a fight at the top of the Feris wheel and there were the final two at the top fighting and one killed the other, making them the victor but then they fell off breaking all their bones. This means there was no victor that year. Also i would rate have 2 victors than no victor, but tbh i would rather their would be no hunger games. love your videos
That’s not canon unfortunately
I think that this likely happened early on in the Games, and the Capitol introduced precautions to ensure that a non-victor Games never happened. It was largely successful, unless of course the last remaining tributes threatened suicide (as Katniss and Peeta did), thus checkmating the Gamemakers.
Great job, I always look out for your videos and am so delighted to see your channel growing!
Very true!
I’ve actually thought about this a lot I think they would be so desperate for a winner that they would literally do anything in their power to help the dying tribute if they did die they would probably do as you said and do a remembrance tour but if they had found out that the victor was a rebel they might not do so , they might just cancel it make up loads of excuses or just say something on the capitol tv,by the way I love your channel love you so much ❤️❤️❤️
For a video maybe you could do:
“What if all the tributes stepped of their podiums before the timer went of”
Like they are refusing to play the games
I'll look into it!
they’d blow up into smithereens. if all tributes stepped off, they’d be blown up and potentially die. it’s mentioned by cinna in the movie and somewhere in the book i believe.
@@nishinoyuu6064 But how would the capital handle it
Technically the last one to step off wins.
It‘s nice to see after all these years someone still being so passionate and staying so invested into the fandom. Keep it up ! 💘

Anyone remembers Titus? He was killed by game-makers because he was a cannibal. So there is one game with no winners.
Titus wasn't the last tribute left, he was killed beforehand to ensure the Victor wasn't a cannibal
I think Cecelia from district 8 won that one
@@tysam5867 I thought it was Mars from district 2
There’s another games with no Victor it was the 23rd

I think in the case of peeta and katniss the victor would be peeta, because snow blames katniss. (Sorry for my english)
That's very possible! And your English is very good!
No one gives a fuck about your English. Love your comment though
Imagine being the last two knowing your gonna win, just to get a poisonous spider bite, and both tributes die at the same time
Ouch!
Hovercrafts in the books: Full on medical equipment, tables for eating, cargo room.
Film Hovercrafts: ok so we got some seats thats all
In the book katniss told a story about how a girl dropped her wooden ball token and got exploded even though she didn’t step off her platform. 🤔🤔🤔
Woah......I never that about that . Ladies and gentlemen may I present to you the victor of the 76th annual comment games
I think anyone who did that would be punished in the arena, and their family may be punished too
Story Diver you’re the best UA-camer and I hope you get 5k soon!! Happy bubbles
In the 38th hunger games the arena was an amusement park and the victorious tribute fell of the Ferris wheel, breaking all of his bones.
Pretty sure that’s fanfiction as it’s not in any canonical media
But I also have to admit, even watching the games would give me issues. The idea of Haymitch having to hold his intestines in his body makes me want to get reacquainted with my lunch (I’d rather not, I had a delicious turkey on rye for lunch)
Yeah it can’t be easy to watch!
I'm proper addicted to your videos nice video btw
Thank you!!
@@StoryDiver your welcome
There was one game mention where most of the tributes froze to death because the arena was a woodless snowscape. Katniss also mentions how there was barely a victor due to them almost dying from hypothermia.
I think that if both final tributes were severely injured and were in a verge of dying the game makers would chose who dies and who lives. Then controlling the arena to kill the other one (like sending a wild animal or a tree falling). This gives a real winner that they can save
Haymitch collapsing part was wrong. He ducked because he knew the weapon would bounce back. Like the part of him tossing the rock and surprised it came back. So he knew the axe would come back and hurt her was his only way of winning.
hi you’re my new favorite youtuber!!! i’m glad i discovered you.
I hope your doing good with everything thats going on
We are thank you! I hope you’re safe 💛That’s a very good point!
I think the medical stuff they have in the capitol and advanced technology would be able to save the victor and the trackers they put on the tributes could send them information about their health and other information
Very true!
I'll look into it!
Love all of the content you post❤️! Subscribed✅
Thanks for subbing! Happy you like the videos!
This is a really interesting concept! I like how you mentioned that the Capitol would paint it as 'a true victor, giving their life in memory of the war' when really it was another child killed in the Games. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that were to happen.
Thank you!
Only you and Effie can pull off wild lipstick colors.
It’s possible!
I think if all tributes (including the "victor") die in the arena, the head gamemaker would probably die next ... we've seen what happens to them if they mess up.
That’s a good point!
Plus, the last tribute with a beating heart would be claimed as Victor. Even after they die. They would probably just honor them.

Wow... really good video, I've been reading the hunger games series for the second times and I'm really into it
I don't think so because then there would be nothing worth fighting for. Staying alive is there 1 goal and without that they won't kill.
It’s possible!
i'd love to read a canon book about haymitch's experience in the quarter quell. that'd be so interesting.
actually, i'd love to read about how all the victors from catching fire won (especially johanna, wiress, beetee, finnick, and enobaria)
It would be interesting!

Story Diver 🧡.
Like in the 74th hunger games where they sent out mutts for the finale and tributes were forced to climb onto the cornucopia, what if they all fall into the mutts and die before the gamemakers send the mutts away?
The gamemakers are in total control of the mutts, they can make them stop in half a second or only attack a specific tribute etc
you are soo creative! thank you for making these!
Thank you!
On one side I would prefer 2 victors because it means more people survived, but on the other side no victors means they don't have to suffer
i know i’m a bit late but i think they would still be victor, as all victors die eventually, just because they died before the victory tour and everything doesnt make them less of a victor than one that died a few years after they won
Exactly!
I think having no victor would have been good to see because even though the capitol should probably still twist the story it would also be a massive slap in the face. I wonder though, if his family refused to comply with the remembrance tour if the capital would still tortured them?
That makes sense! And I think they would likely have been tortured
but if there were no survivors and it was an outlying district i think there would be a lot of contreversy.
I love your videos so much! They really help me think and help me focus when I find it hard. Thank you
Thank you!!!
I love how old fans suddenly resurfaced for the new book release
Congrats on 5k!!!! Been here since 2k!!

I don't think that Katniss would've eaten the nighlock berries, as she at that point loved Gale the most, and still had Primrose
I have va video about this coming soon!
* Spoiler for The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes *
It would most likely be like what happened to Marcus
You have a new subscriber! I love the hunger games and your video! Keep up the good work!

It's possible!
hi! i’m not sure if ive already asked, but could you maybe do a video on all the known arenas + any possible ones? thank u!!!
I’ll look into it!
I definitely think the game makers would choose the more popular tribute and say that they died last
That makes sense!
OMG, So excited , i miss the videos. hey i love that the channel is growing can't wait for you to be a celebrity
Thank you!!
WOW this is a very interesting and detailed analysis. I love your channel and hope you get the views you deserve.
May the odds be ever in your favor.
Thank you so much!
I agree with you. The capitol would do their best to have a victor. Two victors would be better thsn none.
Although the capitol really needs a victor and will do almost anything to have one if there were to be a game where there was none it could be like a reference to the war something like “in the war there was no such thing as a rebel victor they most died” or something like that
your videos are amazing !!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE your content

In 38th Hunger Games victor suffered a fall in final battle from ferris wheel and broke all bones.
Im glad people are still talking about hunger games, its my favourite movie but its nice to see people still care about it
Same here
It's likely that the Capitol would come and take the last dead but not yet confirmed tributes out of the Arena and created a doppelganger of one of them as the Victor to have one, and then staged something like them dying due to sickness/wounds from the Arena after the Game so that they still have a Victor

I think Annie Cresta’s game would have been a better choice for no victor, the GameMakers lost control of the arena and the only reason there was a victor was because Annie could swim
So I know I am very late but I have a question
What would happen if there wasn't a rule change after Rue's death?
Peeta would probably die because Katniss wouldn't go look for him, but what then? 🤔
