I must have caught over 1000 fish since I moved here in January. Fishing is a different world compared to UK. Don't think I've had a single blank other than once when it was too cold and too windy and only lasted about 30 mins.

Some info about Halibut fishing in Norway for my British fishing buddies.
“The spawning protection for halibut in the period from and including 20 December to and including 31 March applies to all gear, also when fishing with a rod or handline. The provision states that it is forbidden to fish for halibut in the period from and including 20 December to and including 31 March, in accordance with the harvesting regulations section 39, first paragraph. The provision applies to both vessels and persons, and there is thus no exception for fishing from shore. The minimum target also applies to everyone, replies a senior advisor in the Directorate of Fisheries”

Glad you were able to find your rods and got into a Halibut so are the mackerel still there to be caught we will be arrving up north on Friday for two weeks and it would be great to get some mackerel to eat and some for bait. Good luck for the rest of your holiday.

Hello all. Any ideas how I can get my rods from the UK to the north or Norway? I’d like to send them up there unattended as I have family up there.
I wouldn't know mate sorry. I always take mine with me and leave them out

We just go ourselves mate and drive around looking for spots on navigation
