    This version of knight with each guard having its own cooldown is really cool. You can set a guard patrolling/chasing whilst you still have your pallet breaking guard available in chase. Unfortunately, Devs said its a bug and all guards should share 1 cooldown. So when they fix that, he will be back to being subpar. In fact even worse then live version due to not being able to put a guard down point blank at a loop.

      I'm not saying Knight should be able to initiate 4v4 at a whim. But some sort of compromise, like a longer cooldown or not being able to get more than one patrol/chase, would be awesome

      @@nolanstrife7350this. I’m fine with 1 patrol at a time plus one object break at one time. But the different cooldowns have looked so good (I’m on console and don’t actually get to test)

    I really hope the “bug” that they’re supposed to share a cooldown doesn’t get fixed. Having them on individual cooldowns feels much more fun and isn’t that much of a benefit

      It didn't seem like a bug but i didn't notice in the patch so maybe it was, def felt great with them being individual. We will see what goes live.

      That isnt the bug. The bug was that he could supposedly summon multiple guards at once, but that isn't the case, at least not anymore.
      Now, when a guard is out, you can summon another guard, but the instant you summon the next guard, the previous guard instantly dissappears, so that can't be the bug they're talking about when you read the patch notes.

    It’s so interesting seeing everyone’s opinions on this change, some people I’ve watched are saying he’s complete dogshit and has been nerfed into the ground, then there’s people saying he’s even better, I’m still under the impression all these videos I’m seeing saying he’s buffed just looks like a bunch of survivors that’s have no idea how to play against him.

      Tbh the whole hunt timer going down thing is honestly barely noticeable, plus I’ve been seeing guards getting a lot more hits, so I think behavior might’ve touched up the guards path finding
      But overall his add ons are a real improvement, especially since they added half of MOTR and Pillaged mead to his base kit

      @@SpankyM3WankyAdd ons are nice, but the only improvement here is guards can sometimes get more hits on their own if the survivor doesn’t abuse the AI manipulation and also you can swap guards instead of cycling them by kicking pallets or gens or just using what you got. But at the cost of completely ruining his anti loop which in many cases he truly needs it. I promise you go against any good team with this PTB knight you will have a miserable time. These noob survs will always make knight look S tier because they simply don’t know how to play against him

    Didn’t behavior say that when you drop a guard while another is chasing a survivor that it’s a bug?
    Also correct me if I’m wrong, but did behavior fix the guards path finding? Cause it seems like their getting a lot more hits

      He will be significantly worse if that's the case, you should be able to perhaps recall if you place them wrong, maybe with a slight cd if they think this is too strong and then make call to arms a bit base of it to also make up for the insta spawn nerf, it's good that people say knight is weak so they will adjust him further.

      No, the bug was being able to have multiple guards summoned at once, not that you can summon a guard to cancel our another. If you read the patch notes, it will clear that up.
      It must be a rare bug though, because I haven't seen it happen in any PTB gameplay yet

    Wish they would fix the getting pallet-stunned from your power gets fixed. The main reason I don't play Knight is survivors will always pallet slam my orb so it stuns me 10 feet away for some reason

    18:30 so I blame MMOs for this mentality in gamers, it started with mmos doing the open betas which got gamers into the mindset of “”oh free game for a month”” instead of your meant to be looking for bugs and testing stuff and giving feedback.
    Then single player games started doing it and now we have like 20% of the games on steam are early access (even though they are charging full price to play them) so it dosnt matter how broken the game is they can say well it’s not finished yet even though there are thousands of players that have played, completed and stop playing the game and all before it’s “”released“”.

    It feels like this new knight is a buff against players with little hours, but a heavy and detrimental nerf to players who know how to grab flags and play against AI.

      It's an all around buff, veteran or great survivors just hold W against knight currently and the value of units is basically non-existent due to chase time not being long enough for them to ever really be a threat, yes knight can sometimes get a hit but the units really don't do much currently where as here you will get a lot more value out of well placed units, especially assassin.

      @@RedsGamingGears yeah I’ve noticed that too, if you place assassin or jailer in a really good position then they’ll definitely get the hit, also the whole hunt timer thing going down isn’t as noticeable as I thought it would be, like I had the same concern as you did red, I was worried that it would’ve gutted knight

      @@RedsGamingGears Survivors can hold W but you can chase after them by destroying pallets in a fraction of a second, also with current knight you had *options* of how to play them. This knight has *one* way you have to play and it doesn't work against good survivors. One of the survivors in your games practically never got hit by the hunt because they could just stall it out and take the flag or break the AI with the window glitch. With current knight you could decide to simply not use your hunt for that purpose anymore and chase survivors while demolishing pallets and creating a deadzone quickly. That option no longer exists.

      @@viennasavage9110 You can still destroy pallets insanely quick. Old knights units were useless against decent survivors, new knights units will get much more value. Yes taking the flag is part of the kit and intended counter play, while they got the flag i got hits in that same time frame, as knight you can also play around the flag or look for pinch spots. The option of shredding pallets for dead zones completely still exist so idk what you are talking about in that regard, I crushed pallets basically as soon as they were dropped in the gameplay. Stalling has always been a part of Knights kit and is now stronger, destroying pallets with well times carnifex is still top notch, units ability to deal damage or secure hits has grow exponentially.

    dude being able to summon while one is on patrol is so strong. its the diff between getting a down in some cases and not. also super pressure. if they take that out....knight will be a lot weaker. i don't think we are understanding how strong that is. but BHVR is saying its a bug which gives me pause.

    I am hoping these changes will be good as i have use to play knight alot until he became super buggy and unbearable to play. There are some killers that need a little rework but this is a solid start.

    I absolutely love these changes
    I'm extremely glad they took my suggestion to add a minimum draw path of 10M (I'm certain others came to the same conclusion and suggested this as well!)
    Every inch of the Knight changes look great! He's finally a proper threat amongst the Survivors, and each guard's original purpose is actually utilized effectively!
    Well done BHVR!

    None of these buffs will matter if they dont patch predropping pallets vs guards in a hunt and hugging windows. They're both massive exploits that make the guards even weaker then they already are. Another thing, i think if they really wanna encourage snipes then the banner should take longer to spawn with patrol path distance.

      @@clyde5769 doubt it. They said they make the window tech a feature to help the survivors get away. But people believe the real reason is because the devs just doesn't know how to fix it and just embrace it instead...
      Do you also know during the early announcement for the PTB on discord, they actually didn't know that the Knight can get stunned when using his power?

    So the changes that you shouldn't go within the radius of the guards will change the knight's gameplay so that as a knight you defend the guard's flag and otherwise only intervene when it happens. Super boring gameplay... plus the devs still haven't fixed the fact that the knight can summon his guards close to walls, pallets or other narrow places. Yes, choosing the guards is nice, as is changing the jailer. Otherwise, what is to come will always be disappointing!

    the knight is so powerful red, hope we'll get some feedback in to enjoy him even better. I would like the hunt to stop if you stay at the flag for more than 3 seconds so you don't get braindead hits, it is a playstyle that I tried and it is not healthy. Also the guards could have a similiar ui to vecna. Call to arms should also be split the addon value lowered and some incorporated int base kit, the movement speed mainly. Horse meat is really good but fine since the survivor can still get the banner so it can clutch hits if they don't.
    I also think that the town torch is probably one of the best designed addons in the game, this combo is very lovely.

      Yeah I was really surprised that some of call to arms wasn’t added to knights base kit, but I’m just glad that they added some of pillage mead and MOTR into his base kit

      @@SpankyM3Wanky yeah, the goal from the start was to make his basekit strong, not addon reliant and also the design to create long patrol paths for macro gameplay, chasing multiple people at once or organising a sandwich attack. So they definitely need to incorporate some of that addon into base to further that experience since the addon is really powerful still. I am surprised that they didn't take it into consideration, considering it was his second best addon after map.

    I really hate this rework.
    They didnt adress the main painful points that make playing knight a constant struggle. They didnt fix the stun pallet break bug, they didnt make the map fully basekit (so it still is a mandatory pick), and worst of all: the bug that destroys the guard nav ai by touching a window or dropped pallet is now "an intended feature".
    Pincering with your guards is also gone, one of the few things that made this killer unique. Now he feels more like nemesis with guards that are only useful to break stuff in chase. The 10m requirement also feels bad, with no visual indicator of when you can actually place a guard other than looking directly at the bottom of your screen. If "shitting out" a guard at a low pallet loop is so bad, why not make less than 10m patrol guards take 1s more to begin to detect?
    With the way they aimed for this rework, i might as well drop him because i dont want to relly only on boring survivors to death with snipes (which i think are cool), because i am 100% sure they won't the guards fast enough to actually get hits consistently on their own.
    Oh and aparently, the thing that allows you to spawn a new guard while another one is active is a "bug", nevermind the fact that disbands the old guard and puts him in a cooldown.

      Map never felt like a mandatory pick in the PTB, pinching with your guards is still viable as the range for the depletion is 8 meters which is easy to avoid while cutting off survivors as I did in the video, 10m requirement seems fine for the buffs of the units and adds a bit more skillful play to the knight and if you were just dropping units at your feet at every tile in general you were normally snuffed out by hold W and extending a detect timer doesn't negate that, survivors have counter with the flags and is a core part of playing against knight which is another reason for the 8m depletion. If spawning a guard and cancelling an already active guard is a bug so be it but it felt great. Old knight def felt more on the boring and less consistent side, new knight feels much better in both of those areas.

    Good on you for showing the positives of the knight changes. It's rather frustrating seeing people claim that the changes are nerfs. I think it's a bit of a skill issue frankly, if you only ever got value from insta dropping guards at loops as knight in the past then you were never particularly a good knight player. Good survivors know to just hold w at loops anyway against knight so these changes actually allow for more skill expression and pressure against good survivors. I do hope that they keep the guard bug as a feature though, being able to summon a new guard whilst another is out is pretty nice.

    Idk why people are so worried about these changes being a Nerf to the Knight, when literally people just don't know how to play this killer properly and focus on Dead zoning survivors for free, You and me Red, we understand the vision to this killer, and good Knight players that actually learn how to play this killer properly, make him an absolute menace

    ill be honest man your survivors in this video were... below average at best. im happy to see the changes and switching between guards definitely seems like a more fun tool rather than a nerf/buff but for the time being im gonna hold my judgement because these survivors were dookie

      Survivors were standard average survivors but during the ptb you def get more altruism focused and fast leavers unless playing in customs, this is why i don't pay attention to how a game goes such as winning or losing but more so to how the killer feels to play and looking at how it could be applied in live servers. As for Pegeta, you are always more than welcome to come to the discord and prove to me you get insanely different survivors and its not just you being inefficient as killer. The door is always open for anyone who makes claims to getting different or "harder/better" survivors.

    Truthfully do you believe this is a knight buff even against good teams? No longer has an anti loop and an easily abusable AI and a weaker power in chase? Plus the banner makes it way too easy to let guards do anything on their own. There’s many situations where Knight that gets a guard hunt on a survivor cannot remain 8m away from it instantly. That 3x depletion is not good and the more you play the more you’ll see how often that will screw you over in the most annoying ways. It’s such a weird mechanic that if you truly wanna prevent “double taps” you make it 1-2m so you cannot be directly behind them and wait

      Yes this will give him a chance against good teams, good teams trash knight in general due to just holding forward. He still has anti loop with pallet breaks and pinching survivors as the 8 meters is easy to play around, you can play around the banner as well if chasing that said survivor. The longer chain which equals longer chase for units makes up for early depletion but it significantly improves his units who catch survivors on gens or at farther distances, two taps are still a thing you are just going to cut the survivor off first at an angle rather than follow directly with a guard.

      Jailer alone with the hunt duration add on and a long patrol path chases for over 40 seconds, even at x3 depletion for being nearby, you're still getting plenty of hunt time if your running near the guard to pincher someone.

      The units are more lethal in almost every way due to longer hunt times, especially the assassin. Ability to pick a unit rather than burning them is incredibly healthy and allows for more macro intent play, increased guard detection ranges down the board, Add on changes feel amazing for example undetectable when a unit is chasing for a long duration is crazy effective at catching survivors off guard, Jailer and Carnifex hunt times were swapped making Jailer feel better when catching a survivor rather than the worst of the bunch for the unit that is meant for patrol. I don't see nerfs here, if you were playing knight by just dropping a unit at a tile then sure you might feel like it is, but then you were almost always countered by hold w and that lead to a weaker version of this knight who while needs more skill/knowledge to play but is def more lethal with the guards.

    THESE ARE NOT BUFFS I WISH CONTENT CREATORS WOULD STOP LYING ABOUT IT! It is not a BUFF when you are forced to put ten meaters of trail down for a guard that kills any power use durning chase. or when you want it to guard a sinular spot like around a corner, or near the hooks or gens. The chase degradation is also a GIANT nerf meaning that if you chase two survivors off a gen with a guard and yourself all one survivor that is getting guard chased has to do is stick close enough to you to get the pressure of them. THIS IS A NERF KNIGHT MAIN NOT HAPPY!

      As someone who also played a ton of knight I felt the same way when I initially read the patch notes but upon playing it feels much better and the units themselves are a much larger threat especially when talking about the Assassin. The chase degradation is within 8 meters which is easy enough to avoid and can still be done while cutting off a survivor. The last point there is odd because if a survivor being chased by a unit intentionally runs that close to you just take the free hit. The changes feel and play great and are much better than current knight.

      I’m a huge knight player and couldn’t disagree more. Yes those changes are objectively bad but the other things that come with it far outweigh those negatives. This is 100% a buff for the Knight. He feels incredibly smooth and fun in the PTB and much more unique than just dropping a guard at the pallet. You see how many chases Red was able to get? That would normally be much more difficult with current Knight. This is a buff, plain and simple.
