    When Paul was beginning to learn oil painting, he really struggled with mixing realistic light and shadow colours. Even judging the colors correctly was hard enough. So, Paul will demonstrate three common color-mixing mistakes, how to avoid them, and how to mix more realistic colors.
    WE BELIEVE ANYONE CAN LEARN TO PAINT, and our goal is to show you how. Watching 5 LESSONS in a row will give you the confidence to start painting.
    If you're a beginner, Eric has a series of three free lessons to teach you the very basics of painting, for free. Visit: www.paintbynote...

    One of my favorite teachers. I highly recommend his workshops. His teaching on color helped me as a beginner to advance quite quickly with understanding color and color matching. How exciting to see him on this show!

    Permanent Red Rose is another blue red. I do love quinachridone red and magenta though! And yes, Alizarin Crimson is not nearly as nice as these others. Love your video and there’s so much good info here, thanks Paul and Eric!

    I really enjoyed watching this artist ! His his information is just priceless if you’re a painter. I have been painting for 25 years mainly landscapes.
    It always amazes me. There are so many things to understand you just never stop learning. This is not something that you go to school to learn it and you know all the ways to know ! You must continue studying and painting for decades a lifetime . Thanks 🙏 Mark Mace

    When he speaks of colour value does he mean opaque versus transparent? I.e cad orange vs orange oxide

    • @FloriaTosca
      @FloriaTosca 4 місяці тому +2

      No, he means light/dark

    • @artschoollive
      @artschoollive  4 місяці тому

      Value means dark to light. Some values are dark, others are light. Usually about 9 shades between black and white. Good question. I get it a lot.

      Respectfully disagree - I think when Eric pipes in it helps beginners like me because he often asks questions about concepts that I myself wonder about but can’t articulate- in the moment - which is a helpful shortcut (I don’t watch these live) to fill in gaps in the demo
