If the card gets passed around to several players, and the last person to get it correctly guesses that the last offer to him/her was a lie, to whom is the card returned? From the person who handed it to him/her, or the originator of the card?

Five years late, but the answer to your question is the person that handed the card to the guesser would keep the card if they were caught bluffing.

This game wouldn't work in my family. We would team up against one player and keep making them the last person to get the card. It's too easy to manipulate the game.

Totally agree. There is no reason to challenge a card until you're the last player. So, you take it, pass it on, and it all gets down to the last 2 players. And probably, the *first* player has already chosen the Death Card for the last one, so everyone then realises this, and Dogpiles the last dude. Game over in 4 rounds. UnFun
