The only problem with that would be that it would get repetitive, quickly. So have a player controlling the bugs and instead of playing as a single trooper have each player command a team of 5-6 guys.
odd fact about the gun that the standard troopers use, its ammunition was never intended to kill bugs, it was purely a anti-personnel round designed to punch through soft targets with no body armor....which is why it takes so many rounds to drop a bug.
I want a next Gen remake or new installment. This movie was a favorite as a kid. Even the animated films don't contend with the original movie. We need a new open world game set in this universe. Giant scary bugs. Space flight/travel. Guns and gore.
Tor akka for 2005 i cant think of many games that look substantially better then this. Swat 4 is a much better game but the colors are rather dull in it. Swat 4 is annoying though my team always like to point guns at criminals only to let said criminals blow them aways in 2 seconds lol thats not realistic im fighting terrorists sometimes i cant just blow those assholes away? I always thought thats what the swat team was for lol.

Man I always liked those type of defense games where you have a good number of troops and you hold off a armored position as long as you can against staggering odds. Kinda like The Battle of Bunker Hill in 1775 or The Battle of The Ia Drang Valley.
This game plus hd, better animations, more bugs, more soldiers, better missions = epic & unforgettable battles If the above things are added, I don't mind paying $100 >_< Such a good title, hopefully someone remasters it...
I'd say they should remake this game, not based on the movie but the book. The Starship Troopers universe is SICK. The idea of having super intense action, followed up with talk about philosophy to give the player a chance to calm down would be awesome.
DayOneNoob agree. It was quite revolutional these days. It was first game with massive generated npcs - here bugs. It was common to have up to 10 NPCs on screen and they gave you hundreds of bugs runnin on you. It had great sense of humor.

I think the character you play as might be some sort of super soldier or at least in power armor, we hear several lines about a suit.
