One of a handful of bands where I've bought every CD and never been disappointed. They're a national treasure.
An 'international' treasure.
This song has such a bittersweet feeling from beginning to end. The chord progression, the way the lyrics jump between happy and hopeful and desperate. Excellent song. It just has such a conflicted emotional atmosphere that a lot of bands and songs try to do and either fall flat on, or go fully happy/fully depressing, and yet this song seems like it can be either or. Great song, great album. It's insulting that this album doesn't get more attention than it has, but it's probably because of it's largely political content that it doesn't.

I fell in love with billy talent as a teenager. Now in my 30s I'm still in love!!! I'm always led back to them.
This song and the whole album is one of my favorites from Billy Talent.
i grew up with this band, and it's kind of amazing how their music has evolved with me. they are among a handful of bands that i can really say resonate with me and always make me feel something, and this song just caps that for me. it's so good and so hopeful and makes me feel things most music just can't.

Right, because this is the 1st ballad sort of song they have done. A TRUE Billy Talent would realize noone stays the same forever. They are maturing, and of course their sound does as well. You need to find the things you can connect with in the new stuff like say, the 1st time you hear your favorite song from their old material. I can listen back to back to the old and new and love all of it. That's an actual fan, not someone who can't understand musical growth as a band.
Andrej Schumacher It's called ballad, and every punk-/metal-/rock-/etc. band has some of them. And they are totaly not like the mainstreamers for one important reason: they play their music themselfes. No synthesizer or autotune.
Everyone developes, and musicians do it pretty fast. If you don't like their way, man, noone forces you to follow. There are many other bands out there, i bet there is one, that you may like.

Actually their talent and diversification into various styles of music only proves they are genuine artists here to stay, and that aspect you would think would help propel them bigger. What comes with being a genuine artist is being a free thinking individual, which ultimately means you might say and do things the money masters do not like. If anything, the only reason Billy Talent is not getting more exposure in the US is because of the labeling agencies, and that says alot about them.

This still is Billy talent my young child. Who ever stays the same? Are you the same person from 10 years ago, 5 years ago, last year? We are all changing and evolving, some of us will get upset at their new style just like a mother gets sad when her kids grow up. Embrace it.

I thought this too, at first, but then I realized: any band that does the same thing too much will lose their fans' interest (a little). They're just keeping it original, and I think it's great. Sure some songs aren't as great as others, but thats how music is.

Despite Ben's Nick Cage hair cut, this is still my favorite song off of Dead Silence, closely followed by Viking Death March.

Maybe, but I don't think so. It's just some new stuff, but you can still feel the "Billy Talent power" in the song, even if it's not so energetic as the older songs.

BT's members are getting closer to 40. Did you really expect that they would still be singing about girlfriends who fucked around on them and their sad sad feels? I think there is a lot of raw emotion in this album. Cure For The Enemy is beautiful and very emotional. Same deal with Dead Silence. Close your eyes, and listen to the entire album, from start to finish. That's what I did, because I initially felt the same way. It changed the way I looked at the music.
Weird to hear that those ones and not Pins & Needles and This Suffering were on the radio. Those two are the best on the album.

I am also a die hard fan. Probably their number one fan. Favourite band for 2 years but my dad used to have their album when I was 7. He forgot it and 2 years ago he played a song of theirs and I remembered them. I have never been to their concert, they only came once near us and we didn't know (fuck) I own in cd the Pezz watoosh Billy Talent 1-3 and Dead Silence. Even have copies of their Demoluca and Dudebox demo's!
