I think its their one of the most underrated songs. Such a beautiful memories attached to this masterpiece
Yes, its a fantastic song! :D
Lol one of their most underrated when it's one of their most popular! But honestly, all their songs are underrated, so you're not wrong!
you're right, I'm totally addicted to this one 💕
It's so underrated they made a video for it with 4.6 views on UA-cam alone? On any given popular song's comment section there will always be one of you. So annoying.
@@mackenzie2042 This song literally has over 4 million views on just UA-cam. Nothing this band does is underrated. They are popular.
The most fascinating thing about this geniuses is that they're having a completely own style of music. If you hear billy talent and know the band you immediately know that you're listening to billy talent. I can't quite describe it in words but I guess you know what I mean, since you are reading this comment.
+Tarion LP Oh yes :) When i first heard a song from BT I instantly loved it (River Below) i was about 7 years old and couldn't speak english at all (im austrian) since then, it's my favorite band and when I started getting better in english and finally understanding the lyrics, that moment was amazing, realising the greatness of their songs, the meaning behind it and often those quotes in their songs which give you a moment to think about.. I'm 19 now and still listening to this band, i know every single song and heard every song hundreds of times and it still wont get boring listening to them, they helped me through difficult times. There's even the possibility of me being dead without them..
It's because they only have one guitarist who plays as The rhythm and Lead at the same time and they have lots of backing vocals. And their vibe is so different from other bands
It's because they only have one guitarist who plays as The rhythm and Lead at the same time and they have lots of backing vocals. And their vibe is so different from other bands
I know exactly what you mean
+Tarion LP I love them. I love playing their songs on guitar.
"this obsession is killing me"
Yeah.. the obsession with Billy Talent is killing me too
Amber Richard relatable
omg same
Good one
Hahahahaha
Billy talentoso?
Ian D'Sa is incredible. I saw them live finally for the first time and they're all amazing but Ian is just an extraordinary guitarist.
Slapped my face,
Slammed the door,
A dozen roses lay on the floor.
I saw her friends,
And I was told,
She blocked my number from her cell phone.
You said we,
Were meant to be,
Now this obsession is killing me.
Until I have,
A heart attack,
I'll keep on trying to win you back.
Alone at last,
I can't wait 'till we're alone at last,
All i wanted was a second chance, second chance,
To hold you in my arms at last.
Forever,
Forever,
I'll walk a thousand miles,
Just to tell her,
To tell her,
Our love is still alive,
And I'll never,
I'll never,
I'll never let it die,
Well you'd better watch your step,
She's a diamond on a landmine.
I'm not so sure,
About this word,
But she kept calling me insecure.
I tried to quit,
But theres no use,
'Cause I'm addicted to her abuse.
She's in control, of everything,
I'm just the puppet, she pulls my strings,
Denying truth, I'll test my fate,
I'll keep on playing this wicked game.
Alone at last,
I can't wait 'till we're alone at last,
All I wanted was a second chance, second chance,
To hold you in my arms at last.
Forever,
Forever,
I'll walk a thousand miles,
Just to tell her,
To tell her,
Our love is still alive,
And I'll never,
I'll never,
I'll never let it die,
Well you'd better watch your step,
She's a diamond on a landmine.
Better watch your step,
She's a diamond on a landmine.
Better watch your step,
She's a diamond on a landmine.
Waiting to explode...
Went dancing on thin ice before,
Frozen from the winter's cold,
And if it were to crack below,
I'd never let you go...
Alone at last,
I can't wait 'till we're alone at last,
All I wanted was a second chance, second chance,
To hold you in my arms at last.
Forever,
Forever,
I'll walk a thousand miles,
Just to tell her,
To tell her,
Our love is still alive,
And I'll never,
I'll never,
I'll never let it die,
Well you'd better watch your step,
She's a diamond on a landmine.
Better watch your step,
She's a diamond on a landmine.
Better watch your step,
She's a diamond on a landmine.
Waiting to explode...
You'd better watch your step,
She's a diamond on a landmine.
You'd better watch your step,
She's a diamond on a landmine.
You better not touch,
She's a diamond on a landmine.
Better to forget,
She's a diamond on a landmine.
Waiting to explode...
In my opinion the most beautiful song they ever created.
try honesty takes the cake in my opinion. but good song
agreed
+Irish Evan I like rusted fro the raim
I'm all in for the Navy song, because every song is just a representation of a ffeling or a mude and in the navy song they did exactly that perfectly.
...although Ian is fire with his guitar at running accross the tracks ^^
i agree, i love the part from 3:12 onwords
System of A Down + Police + Billy Talent = Diamond on a Landmine
this math makes so much sense
IDK who you are but you just listed 3 of my top 5 favorite bands of all time. Check out The Cosmic Neighborhood, if you jive with these you may jive with that.
Wow its like you read my mind@@TeoReviews
Billy Talent is the first band that I ever became familiar with when I was little. I've come to learn recently, so many years after learning about them, that they are undoubtedly my favorite band. These guys are absolute geniuses!
I learned about them around 2006 when Billy Talent II came out, I was probably 10 and wasn't into music that much at all, but I thought they were awesome. I've sort of rediscovered them recently and now I'm able to see see the greatness of their music that I didn't even understand before.
You summed up my experience in a nutshell.
The22tankmaster Same... my brother's friend showed BT to me when I was like 9 and up to date it's still my favorite band
Exactly
Did you study music? I loved the way you described the song! Very detailed!
haha I was the same age as you when I discovered them! I've been listening to them ever since. \m/
I dont know what it is but this music from this Band speeks to me and has been that way for 8 years
Cody Games very talented band with good messages behind every song
It's relatable, most of their music that is. Expecially growing up now a days.
Because they're relatable to everyone's lives! I mean, I interpret this song to my own life. I met a woman who I thought was perfect. But as time went on I realized that being with her would kill who I really am. We weren't good together but the idea of the relationship was so enticing. She was a diamond but if I took her and claimed her to be mine I'd detonate myself.
Great music though.
perfectly portrays the toxic obessesion you feel for someone, love this.
im agree with you
4 years since my first breakup, still hurts, I wish i didnt fucked everything up. But im still alive, its a good thing, I think ;;
@@thomaslefebvre7842 it’s really surreal how long feelings can last, no contact with them but the memory of them haunts your heart 💔
and what a stalker/rapist might say in his mind to justify violence against women.
I absolutely love this tune. Its sheer genius by way of composition, especially poignant when considering its a pretty straight forward pop rock tune. But musically, the interplay between the guitar and bass, the subtle piano in the verses, and how well the vocals work against one another... just... man. Then there's the structure: the ups and downs in intensity really make the song an emotional rollercoaster (a la Nirvana/The Pixies) not to mention the perfect timing of where these rises and falls are. Then there's the bridge with three distinct movements. Straight forward rock, into half time breather, into progressive groove, setting it up for that pre-chorus build to hit you right in the feels, and give that chorus a renewed vitality and significant impact. I just cant say enough about how PERFECT of a composition this is.
Well put, sir!
I too, keep finding layer upon layer - music and lyrics - going deeper and deeper, the more I listen, the more I hear.
What other band could you say that about? Anyone??
Jim Carr blink 182, my chemical romance, and many more bands actually
John Isakson Blink 182, as great as they are, are mostly pretty simple 4 chords stuff as far as composition is concerned.
+Chris McCartney Chris shimmer down mate. Its a really good song, but this tune in particular is based on Roxanne by police. go listen to it, you'll see it has some almost identical features . :)
Chris McCartney I feel you. That's one of my favourite songs of all time
I want to say this is the best damn Billy Talent song ever, but...every single one of their songs is the best damn Billy Talent song ever.
nice profile picture DIO
i've grown up with all 3 of their albums.
each song has a meaning and brings up memories in my life.
no band has ever come close to being that....awesome.
Billy talent is so nostalgic.. It reminds me of highschool so much ... Take me back to a younger time in my life R.i.p 2007
To bad Billy Talent III and therefore Diamond On A Landmine were released 2009
I always get a bit emotional whenever this song starts playing, it's really deep. Kinda hits home. I absolutely adore this band and can't wait for the next album.
this song is really hitting me in the feels right now😭
I'm in my fifties and love these guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My son wanted their CD with "River below", and I loved it! so..................I listen to their music all the time now!!!!!! I love his voice!
Deb Car its always nice to see people in their fifties having an open mind on music ! if you like these guys you should definitely check out rings of saturn. you'll love them :)
Thanks! I will!

Its the same with me, I am in my fourties and I never loved a band as much as I love Billy Talent ! I discovered them a few month ago by a radio station playing "Fallen Leaves", and now I know every song of them! Such a great band!
have a good life :)
I can’t help but hear The Police influence!
Broke my heart as a kid even though I didn't speak a single English word. Still crying like a baby at this.
This band saved my life a decade ago thank you for everything you helped me get through love you forever xo
Billy Talent, the one band all the foreign kids can sing in English word for word.
Loved them as a teen and still love them now that I’m in my 30s lol
Today’s date is February 19, 2022 (Saturday).

I found Billy Talent when I was 12 after I saw nothing to lose on Much Music countdown. This music has helped me through my youth and is continuing through my young adulthood. Thank you guy's. To see you live in Calgary was a dream come true. Still surreal to this day. Much love
man this song gives me goosebumps. billy talent will always have a special place in my heart
One of my favorite songs from them ... saw them on a concert this year for the first time in Germany, now I'm a fan
This song gives me some serious “the police” vibes.
Great song, great band.
I just love Billy Talent! ❤️🤘🏼
ahh yeah thats the first time i hear the similarity
My oldest son introduced me to Billy Talent when I was about 40...bought him, his brother concert tickets and an extra so my brother could go with them (didn't want them to feel uncool with mom there).
After the concert I told them I'd have killed to have gone. Their response?
"Mom, you would have been the best ever person to bring!"
Still feeling the burn I self-inflicted.
LOL! I'm 50 this year, and if BT come back to New Zealand I'm going.... and taking my kids even though they have very different tastes.
I think that in a few years their doing another concert and ill be teen by then maybe you and you guys can go together this time!
It's their best song.
True talent. :)
agreed
I fell in love with this song when I was 12 because Billy Talent.... I love it even more now when I'm 25 because I can actually understand the pain it holds having dealt with this a few times.
I'm so happy this band is still around. The first time I ever heard of them was from a movie called grind. It was my favorite movie when I was young. And they were and still are my favorite band.
Yes! Grind! "He was off the hook... Off... the hook."
thatPUNKdude hey, I like you

It absolutely is, just closed my eyes while it played, it's masterful.
I absolutely love this song, and this band.
They make me even more proud to be Canadian!
🇨🇦 Canada rules (and Billy Talent)! Congrats to such a excellent band. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪 from a mexican-polish-german girl, who loves 🇨🇦.🎵🎸🎙🎶 (We germans have Rammstein😆... but/and a few songs are really genius, haha)
I Love it
It Sounds Like a Police Riff

How have i never heard this gem of a song before?! 💎 Amazing!
Listen to more Billy Talent Songs ... Trust me you will not be disappointed
"This song is our homage to The Police. We're such huge Police fans and have been forever. Jon, Ian and myself went to see their reunion tour when it came to Toronto. We met Sting's son - Joe Summer, who's in a band called Fiction Plane - and it turned out he was a fan of the band. He was a really nice guy. Ian is a big fan of the guitarist Andy Summers and he was rocking this riff." (Ben during interview). So, yeah, nice ear :D
So, I'm glad I'm not the only one one.
THE BEST BAND EVER.
BILLY TALENT ROCK SINCE 2003 !!!
Last 10 mb WORTH IT!!!!
I love that metaphor - your love being like a diamond on a landmine waiting to explode as soon as you get to close. Great writing.
Ben, Ian, Jon, Aaron: You are awesome. Please don't stop making music. Nowadays it's really hard to find someone who does such a great job like you guys do. Millions of people are standing behind you and love you. Thank you for doing such a great job. =)
Still listening to this song🔥🔛🔝
I Hear My Mars ..💖🙏💖
So many good memories in my head while listening this song. Thank you and greetings from Russia!
cant stop listening to this song. it s a beautiful love song that s what it is.
+drmirfath abdulsalam haha this is my kind of love
+Str8y even though he s singing abt an obsessive kind of love i cant help but feel drawn to it. i have no idea why:-)
***** I always took it as there's beauty in his willingness to participate, even though he is aware of this. His love is unconditional.
***** although destructive
Unconditional love is a hell of a curse.
Billy Talent is the best band ever
My fav Billy Talent's songs of all time

Damn this song has been stuck in my head for weeks, so catchy. Ian's guitar sounds too good.
They say "second chance" instead of "sandwiches", I agree this can be confusing though.
How does anyone hear sandwiches? Wtf

I take dat back, the piano is in the backgroud music XDDDDD Sorry
i think you are the most rocking band in the universe because your music rocks and your personality Ben Kowalowicz.
billy talent were the keys for me to open the doors into rock and metal music 13years ago :D
so simple but so great!!!!
Estare orgulloso de decir que conozco esta cancion cuando tenga hijos :)
BEST BAND EVER!!!!
When I was 16 I fell in love with a girl. I was obsessed with her. We were best friends. It was always unrequited. We finally dated when I was 23 just for it to end a few months in.
I still haven't loved anyone else. I didn't know it at the time, but it turns out I did know what true love was at the time. Now I'm about to be 32. Literally half of my lifetime ago. But I still think of her when I listen to this song. We're both different people now, the people we were no longer exist. I still love that old version of her though.
This song still fucking slaps the same way.
I just LOVE Ben
*one of my favorite top bands!!!
This is real music
YOU GUYS ARE PURELY AWESOME!!!!!
Billy Talent isn't just one person...
amaaaazziiiinnngg
3:00 - 3:26 Just wish that part was longer, it helps me getting lost in my mind
This is definitely one of their underrated songs.
My absolutely favorite Song 😁
Always think of the Police when I hear this song. I think its the background vox at the start (and throughout). CORRECTION: The whole thing is the Police. The reggae guitar riff. The bridge. The lyrics.
you rocks guys! :D
Trippy ass video. I love this song so much.
Os queremos en España yaaa!!!
