Here's my story, for Jordan to hopefully laugh at. When my husband proposed we were at Disneyworld in Florida. They have fireworks at 10 pm and people usually scout out spots to sit and watch them HOURS in advance and then hold those seats till it starts. So we had done this, and we'd been sitting and waiting for over an hour. Finally, about a minute to 10, he goes "I really don't feel well. I really need to go to the bathroom." My husband is never sick, but we'd been out in the hot sun since 7 am and walked a ton, so I thought it must be that. I dropped everything and pushed through crowds, holding his wrist so we wouldn't get seperated, trying to rush to the bathroom. I thought he was going to vomit in front of people, so I was being pretty aggressive about it. As I'm pushing through, he starts thanking me for being willing to give up our nice viewing spot for this, and I said "don't be silly, you're sick. stop talking just focus on breathing, we're almost there." And he kept going on and on like, you're so thoughtful, you're so sweet, this is my favorite thing about you, and I was NOT really listening, I was like "MOVE IT YOU'RE GONNA BARF IN PUBLIC IF WE DON'T HAUL ASS" and then he hits me with the "that's why I want to spend the rest of my life with you." To say I was shocked would be a huge understatement, and it was perfect, even if I was briefly gaslit into thinking he was about to be sick in public!
Jordan coming from behind after everyone guessed Zack would get married first in the in the ‘Who’s most likely to’ video. Well, there’s still time for Zack to propose and get there first
It may be too early to say, but I freakin loved this podcast! Jordan being back and bringing everything he brings is always phenomenal, I really enjoyed how Peter defend Jordan and Zack trying to silence. Gosh dang hearing Peter I’m gonna stop you there and talking about unconscious competency, was very informative. Also gosh dang ZEWS!!! Best one of my favorite segments had me dying! I absolutely loved this podcast thank you all and everyone who works behind the scenes. Love you all and take care.
I’m not a native English speaker and every now and then turn on the captions just to check what I listen in comparison with the text and sometimes the automatic caption comes up with some banger subtitles, totally recommend it 10/10
I've definitely gone like 4-5 days without eating so i'll back up jackson. There was a period in my life where i would just want to sit in my room all day and honestly be too lazy to make myself anything to eat and eventually i'd just not feel hungry at all. It's definitely not healthy for you and having to "relearn the feeling of hunger" is extremely weird, but it does happen. Nowaday i still sit inside my room all day but at least i eat regularly :)
Jackson, I've gotta agree with you. I genuinely don't have an appetite. I get physically hungry but I have no appetite. I've gonna a very long time without eating for sure. Not a full week but I've definitely gone full days without eating
Sometimes I watch and listen during school, or when I'm supposed to be sleeping at night. Closed captions that are auto-generated aren't the best, but I'm able to fill in the blank for some mistranslated words. Also, as one who is learning american sign language, that would be cool to learn sign language and do a video in just sign language lol.
Running tip from someone who ran competitive cross country: if you are running on a hard surface focus on your footfalls making less noise. If your feet are making a ton of noise when they hit the ground it means your making a harder impact than you need which stresses your muscles and bones unnecessarily. If you soften the impact you make, then there will be less noise and less stress on your muscles which will be healthier for your legs. Running on grass is still better for you though.
Absolutely loved this episode. One of the funniest to date, no doubt, and great talking points throughout regarding fitness and productivity. Big congrats to Jordan and Holly and glad the rest of you are doing well
Hi Hopcat! Since I know you read the comments, I have a question to ask you. Assuming you guys are still open to guests, could you try to get Choctopus on for an episode? I know it might be difficult since he lives in the U.S. and has a baby, but I think he'd be great on here!
1:19:10 I have to think about piece work as an existing concept similar to what Jordan is proposing. For those unfamiliar with it, It’s either you are paid for each unit (lets say chair) you produced, each unit you produced per hour or its you need to achieve the goal of producing 10 units and if you’re finished you can go home. Both work with a type of extra reward (more money, more free time) to make you productive. I know in Germany, you can’t use this practice with teens and pregnant women and there is definitely a huge negative with it applying way more physical and mental pressure on the worker
The thing with planks is that they are an isometric contraction of the abdominal muscles as well as other muscles in your core. Definitely not the best exercise for aesthetic, visible six-pack abs, but certainly a very useful exercise for building core strength and stability, which is incredibly important for any sort of athletic movement.
Personally thought this was the most entertaining pod so far. Never thought I’d see a day where I agree with everything HopCat says. Zach, not sure who is helping you on your fitness journey but I’m a full time strength coach. Financially I can’t help with donations but I’ve been leeching off your entertainment for a few years now. Happy to help in anyway I can.
To answer Jackson’s statement about people not eating for a week, I know 2 different people that have done that multiple times. They called it water fasting and it was done as a challenge, it’s not something they would typically do that often. I personally have never done it before and nor would I want to
I live in a cave in a mountain and exclusively listen to underdogs and can confirm that many people eat once a week or year. Though many of us have died i can say it’s totally doable
I believe Jackson. I have skipped eating for a week or possibly more. I had a lack of appetite, and I skipped meals. I probably used less than 500 calories a day. I was also depressed in college.
Not completely sure, but when I do v-ups I do 25 reps and because I’m still and adolescent, for me it feels like I’m doing a good job for my abdomen because it feel like I actually am working them out very well, I do go to the gym to try to gain some extra muscle but at home workouts like doing v ups, weight lifting, burpees, push ups and a couple hundred jumping jacks is actually wuite fun because you know your doing your body some good
I like going to the gym in the morning as well. Less crowded. Gets the blood pumping to start the day strong. There is a nice satisfaction in getting your workout done first. It's almost worth the 2pm crash
Ok, so with regards to Jordan askin what human trafficking is; the oxford definition is: "the unlawful act of transporting or coercing people in order to benefit from their work or service, typically in the form of forced labor or sexual exploitation." So, basically using means to illegally force people into some business that exploits them to benefit the trafficker. This is often achieved through coercion, deceptions, or taking advantage of bad situations in order to do cheap labour, slvae-labour, or sex work. It's not that slavery and trafficking are separate, but that trafficking is the means and slavery is the result. Human traffiking is how one manages and uses slaves.
Plank is an isometric exercise. Same as how holding on to a pull-up bar builds your grip strength and forearms or pushing against a wall will build explosiveness. Also I don't think the part about it being like maxing out with one rep of bench is right , since one rep is short while planking is under a long period of time. It's more similar to having little weight on the bench and holding it up as long as possible with bent arms
I'd recommend watching Jmook winners speech from genesis 9, he said how he didn't try to be the best at smash but be the best person he could be through smash which I think is something to gain through E sports if you have the right mentality
what i know about planks and standing still, is that standing still also takes up energy. even potential energy. try to hold your hand in front of you and see how long you feel the lactic acid to make it hurt. your body is using energy to keep the potential energy and gravity to pull it down
When I planned the proposal to my now wife I had a whole day of date stuff, mini golf and the like, and at the end of the night I got on one knee and realized I forgot the ring at home 😂
I know three different people that have gone a week+ without food, and one of them went a month just drinking sweet tea. After awhile you do lose the feeling of hunger. It's not healthy but it is believable. Some people do it because of eating disorders, some people just don't like eating, and some people just don't consider it a priority
Answering Peter's question about what day is your anniversary - it's definitely not engagement, I don't remember what day it was that we got engaged, just a generalized "it was around this time" thing. That being said, we purposely put our wedding day as the day after our dating anniversary so we had a two day block that was special to us. We did want to do the same day but it wasn't practical, but as is I think wedding anniversary has the most staying power of the two. We more or less call them "started dating this day" and "anniversary" at this point.
Human trafficking is smuggling people in general but what they are claiming tate is doing is more on the lines of taking women by persuasion then keeping them by force and having them on his cam site. He is definitely not the good guy if the claims are proven in court
I made an effort to be professional dota 2 player, dropped out of university spend 10-14 hours a day at the game. Before i made the decision to try for pro i had played lots with local people that are still close friend today. But when i made the decision to try to be a pro i stopped playing with my friends to play with people that where better and usually lived in different countries so we didnt get that close as we only met when we went to a LAN tournament. I wasnt good enough in the end and gave up after 2 years. I dont regret trying but i dont really get much from it more then the experience and learning to work hard.
Not eating anything is a very common effect of depression, I don’t know if I didn’t eat anything for a week before but I definitely had no desire to eat when I had serious depression. You don’t have hunger and sustain yourself with the bare minimum and if Jackson metabolism functions like that, I can see him not eating for a week (not saying he suffered from depression, I just know not eating for a prolonged period of time is not that farfetched)
On a rewatch of the pods here and seeing I did not say this the first time around. It's similar to Jackson's no-food week, but I had 0 appetite for around a month a fair while back, and in that time I did eat, but I'd guess the total I ate would be the equivalent of like 3-4 full meals. Don't know how I survived, but I did. Just couldn't eat.
I’d say another thing you gain from esports is problem-solving skills. You have to make very quick decisions and figure out how to overcome the problem (the opponents strategy). Also you guys should put your patreon in the description so it’s much easier for me to get to it. You would have 5 more dollars from me if it was down there.
One thing I'd like to add to the "are esports dangerous?" question, I think video games can give you better fine motor skills, or just faster reflexes because one would have to react quickly to an action in a game. Just a little thing, but that's what I think one could benefit from. Obviously, there are way more advantages to social sports, but I don't think esports are dangerous. I also think it depends on the age of the person, like people who are in their teens, like me, still have a lot of brain developement, and things they need to figure out. People who are above that age have less developement, and can realize when something isn't good for them.
A sequel to the video where someone suggested an underdogs bachelor's party video and someone says "that seems like a lot of commitment for one video." and Zach replied with"well so is marriage."
I’ve definitely used auto captions while sleeping w partner when earbuds are dead. Usually makes me tired trying to understand what’s happening so I just clonk out at night
I think Jordan hunger system is interesting but definitely shouldn’t be apply to student, the amount of work we have in studies is overwhelming sometime and we are just pushing it to the next day and if this work is counted in the hunger system then we couldn’t eat and ended up dying or becoming weaker and weaker
Just so Jordan does not get canceled human trafficking is when they coerce or transport people to work for them in unfair conditions. They promise one thing but give another such as money but forcefully make them commit crimes or labour for less money. This actually happened in the chocolate buissness where companies that produce chocolate would exploit people and children in need of money for labour. In harsh cases they could even take organs
I believe Jackson bc I sometimes het physically hungry but dont want to eat, one time I went 3 days without eating but my mom got concerned and basically forced me to eat but I was okay. #ibelievejackson NoCaps
I like that even though Hop doesn't agree with aspects of Tate, he's still willing to listen and take note of things that might be good advice. Is Tate a bad influence? Possibly in certain ways like his sense of partial misogyny. But that doesn't mean he is wrong in everything he says. And Hop realising that peoples disagreement, doesn't mean that they are a bad person and might have valid points. Take his time with Poppt1, what sounds like the thought of a crazy man, can become an insightful discussion.
For exercises where you don't move, look up isometrics. And about planking, it's still taking the muscle to exhaustion slowly, like if you did high reps, low weight. I don't personally like it, but I don't think it's a scam.
Check out Elliott hulses strength camp. I'm pretty sure he went 21 days without food, and he recorded his workout sessions throughout the process. It's definitely possible to go a week without eating. I stand with you Director, sir.
I use the auto generated captions sometimes bc I’m French and sometimes I have a hard time piecing together what is said, and the captions sometimes clue me in. I do my best not to need them though
Thank you hop for reminding me what shin splints are. I’ve legit had pain in my shin from skateboarding for months and never thought I had splints but I do
Pls upload the podcasts to spotify Idk how much extra job that is but maybe you can get even some extra views since most podcast enjoyers are on spotify.
To one of the points in Peter's scam: Fighters and boxers are not a model of the strongest people. Because they are always trying to fit into the smallest weight class possible, so their bulk is less (and then their strength) is lower than it would be if they tried to optimize strength.
I feel like the biggest problem with planking is that you can just do different types of push-ups to get better and more efficient results. Especially since if you go down, hold for a while, and go back up, you've done 10 seconds of planking and a push up.

Could we get a Zach vs Jordan Chess video?
been a week already? yes gents keep it up
For exercises where you don't move, look up isometrics. And about planking, it's still taking the muscle to exhaustion slowly, like if you did high reps, low weight. I don't personally like it, but I don't think it's a scam.
I've probably come closer than I'd like to admit to not eating for a week
Has no one else the same as Jackson where they don't feel hunger?
Check out Elliott hulses strength camp. I'm pretty sure he went 21 days without food, and he recorded his workout sessions throughout the process. It's definitely possible to go a week without eating. I stand with you Director, sir.
With any luck appendicitis will take me in my sleep
Why is always one person not wearing socks
I use the auto generated captions sometimes bc I’m French and sometimes I have a hard time piecing together what is said, and the captions sometimes clue me in. I do my best not to need them though
For zack, you can not stalemate in the endgame if every move you make is a check
Can’t wait for # 50
sensitive tummy bros unite 😔🙌
Can’t relate to the office job and being lazy stuff I work in a deli kitchen and never stop moving, on my feet the whole time
although I am not a mute listener, I do use auto generated captions.
Thank you hop for reminding me what shin splints are. I’ve legit had pain in my shin from skateboarding for months and never thought I had splints but I do
2:33 someone pls lmk what penguins are up to if you find out
Pls upload the podcasts to spotify
Idk how much extra job that is but maybe you can get even some extra views since most podcast enjoyers are on spotify.
To one of the points in Peter's scam: Fighters and boxers are not a model of the strongest people. Because they are always trying to fit into the smallest weight class possible, so their bulk is less (and then their strength) is lower than it would be if they tried to optimize strength.
I have also gone a week without food I was like 11, 12? I had a bite here or there but the second I swallowed I couldnt eat anymore.
I feel like the biggest problem with planking is that you can just do different types of push-ups to get better and more efficient results. Especially since if you go down, hold for a while, and go back up, you've done 10 seconds of planking and a push up.
Salute our boy has grown up
I’ve gone 5 days fasting, I could easily see a week
