I absolutely love the simplicity of the puukko! Don't confuse what I said, the puukko has a simple design but is not simple to make! However, you made it look easy! Good job bro
I don’t exactly understand the puke, is it just the structure or the handle shape and size? I thought it was one shape of blade but now I realize that the blades are different
A puukko is a traditional Finnish belt knife with a single curved cutting edge, a hidden tang and generally has a straight spine. Further, most puukko do not have a finger guard and have a scandi grind. Of course there are many interpretations of the puukko but this is the general description according to the interweb
And yet another gorgeous piece of work from you. I don't think this one will split a hog, but it'll make him squeal....and probably bleed like a stuck hog. Lol love it man
Next time someone asks me to recommend an example of good, clean forging I will recommend this video. Outstanding!
very nice blade shape
Big fan of the Puukko
Yeah, I like your puukkos a lot

Thanks man, yeah the puukko speaks to my soul, haha
I have only made one so far but I was surprised at how versatile it was and will be making more for sure!

👏👏
You should build a tire power hammer
Great job dude! Crushed it like always! What steel did you use?
Thanks! This one is 52100
Does putting soap stone on the cutting edge make it easier to see the the width? That’s a great idea if so. I never seen that done.
It helps to see the edge for straightening, especially in lower light conditions which our forges often are.
Fire Creek Forge I’m definitely going to try that on my next one. Thanks for the tip.
52100 steel. What size was the original bar?
It's 3/4" round stock
Stelter was making same finnish knife called puukko
I saw that, it turned out nice
That is a sexy little knife. Wish I had one.
