F sport package is totally worth it. You get so much with the f sport pack. Suspension, brakes, grill, wheels, lfa gauge, seats, black head liner. Non f sport just looks funny
I just have to say i have been watching most of your videos mainly because they come up on the recommended list. But i just realized how much detail you put into each video, and your efforts generally. Keep it coming! You Sir are a true car reviewer. I just had to subscribe today!
Thank you my friend! I’m super happy that you notice the work I put into this and I’m humbled by your kind words. Can’t thank you enough and just hearing back from awesome viewers like you makes this so worthwhile.
This is some of the greatest content out there. In a world where so much is uploaded to UA-cam when I have so little time, this channel stands out. I now end up watching Doug DeMuro at 1.5x speed. You're the reason why. I'm proud to be a member of Team ESA!
Damn man thank you so much for that. The love I’m getting from you guys is overwhelming now and I’m humbled by your words my friend. Thanks again for appreciating what I do and the info I put out
Thanks for sharing your Lexus passion. I have the 2016 IS350 F-sport and am glad I made that choice. Within the first year I updated the intake to aluminum and did an axle-back Magnaflow exhaust with 4" tips (part #15227) and was glad I made the upgrades for some extra V6 naturally-aspirated growl. When the rev hits 4700 rpm, the throttle opens up similar to Honda's V-tech which a lot of people don't realize. That's when you get to really appreciate the F-sport tuning in sport +. The car is bulletproof, and I have not had a single minor issue whatsoever. The only thing to consider is that the f-sport seats, while super fitting and comfortable for short drives, are too firm for 3+ hours and you'll be adjusting the angles a lot to take the strain off the back.
Hey thanks so much for sharing your ownership experience my friend. Awesome upgrades and yes close to 5k is when you notice that induction sound as well it’s very cool. Again I appreciate you stopping by and watching!
I know what you mean when you say it feels special. It’s the first car I’ve owned that makes me feel so content when driving it. It’s got a lot to live up to.... being sporty and working hard to knock on BMWs door yet remaining a Lexus... meaning a smooth ride, quietness, extreme refinement, extremely well built interior with ZERO creaks and rattles and irreproachable reliability. That’s no easy task to be all that yet this car does it. That’s why it’s so special.
Yea Steven that’s a good breakdown for sure. I really like the BMW a lot but this has a true soul for sure and I love it. Very nice executed vehicle. Love how the 2018 and up got an LSD just perfected it further. Thanks again my friend for stopping by
I just bought a 2020 IS300 Fsport and the second I saw and drove the FSport I couldn’t buy a base no matter how much more expensive the Fsport was. The front grill and rims make it worth it already 100% but you also get AWD a v6 engine and the really cool LFA speed gauge. Everytime I see a base IS driving on the road I’m happier and happier I got the FSport. The used one I found also happened to be a Blackline edition with only 14k miles and was L/certified sold by a Lexus Dealership so to say I got incredibly lucky is an understatement!
I’ve had a 2016 IS200T base and it’s been a great daily driver. Comfortable, looks great, and reliable. No issues If I could go back, I would get the fsport just for a couple of the bells and whistles (4 grand is not that much for some extra goodies).
My first IS was a '06 350 with the 6-speed trans. I upgraded to a '16 350 FSport in July and you're right, the Sport+ mode in my '16 is far better in its power delivery compared to the 2IS & 3IS 350 non-FSport models. The only bad thing, if you're in Sport+, the car will not go into 8th gear unless you're around 79/80mph. So be prepared for lots of fill ups if you stay in that mode like me. :-D
Wanted to point out a first-hand comparison between my IS 350 F-sport and my brother's recently-purchased Genesis G70 3.3t. Although the G70 is faster off the line, the adaptive steering on the Lexus in sport + makes for a tighter, better driving experience when turning. The Genesis steering is looser and more video-game like. Both great driver's cars though.
I’m doing just fine with my 2014 IS250 non f sport. 🤣🤣 It gets me from a-b so I’m good. But you’re right the f sport packages gives more. Good job bro! Keep it up. Just sub’d. I did swap the front bumper and grill tho for the f sport spindle grill.
Brother how have you been? Still crushing it with the best Tacoma build I've noticed keep it up man it's been awesome to watch you grow. Haha they probably want 100k views on everything but idc I'm just glad to make the community happy with the work I do and I know the Toyota Tacoma community appreciates what you've been able to do for that awesome truck!
The only downside to purchasing this vehicle, correct me if I'm wrong, is the fact the 8spd. transmission, is the same, as the 2019 Camry that is flawed.. And going through a identity crisis, that everyone is complaining about. hesitating between gears..
I also wasn't crazy about the 3rd gen IS when it first was introduced, but over the years the design has grown on me. I especially like the character line that starts at the trailing edge of the rocker panel and flows upward into the taillight. I am guessing Honda liked it also, since they incorporated the same on the 2018 Accord. The F-Sport with it's sport tuned suspension and exterior enhancements looks far better, with the exception of the large spindle grill. I kind of like the standard IS grill better if I am being perfectly honest. Great review and thank you for bringing it to us Kevin.
Yea very true my friend the design has sort of proven itself over the years. Yea I appreciate the regular grill as well normal cars looks very good still for sure. Super happy you are still finding value with what I do thank you
Help needed here I’m looking to join the Lexus club and can’t decided between a Lexus gs350 F sport or is350 F sport. The years are between 2013-2016! I’ve narrowed it down to the Fsport package after watching this video!
Get the GS if you're over 5'8" or plan to have passengers in the back seat. The big drawback of the IS is the back seat passenger legroom and the driver's head room. The IS is great if you're a tiny Asian woman.
Yes the transmission is tuned differently in the F Sport. In Sport+ mode the transmission will hold onto gears longer and rev match on downshifts. I believe the paddle shifters are faster too
Yes the rev match down shift that was the important one and thank you very much for confirming because these were all the advantages I noticed. I appreciate you stopping by!
I have a Fsport 350 2014 with 126,000 miles and it drives perfect no complain on that i have a bit of wear on the door panels but other than that the car is on perfect conditions
I drive a 2017 300 awd non f sport with the 3.5 detuned. This was the cheapest way to get into an is for me but I do wonder what I'm missing. Maybe I can get a good deal on a 2020 f sport when the 2021 redesign comes out.
Do you get a LSD on the F Sport package of is this an open diff car? Otherwise holy help is Lexus cheap. Having driven both, the 335I dusts this IS 350 F sport day long.
So these were open diff cars but I know in 2018 they started to offer LSD on IS 350 F sport as standard. Haha Idk if it absolutley eradicates the 350 but the bimmer does drive better and have excellent balance/control. I love driving the BMW but I love driving this too. The F sport def brings it closer to the 335i but I would say a 335i would dust the 350 I drove in this vid
@@MeynMotorGroup oh okay thank goodness. Not having a lsd on a luxury car is only something new Infiniti would do. Yeah honestly I think you need to drive the 335i again. I know noth cars incredibly well (sister has IS350 F Sport). Turbos in the 335i really move it down low where the IS350 has nothing. I'm not a BMW fan but do love the hell out of the 240i, 135i,and 335i.
@@swanblake Yes that's one of the things with NA motors you have to wring them out to enjoy them. Haha I got a 440i my friend I know these cars well. Trying to get an LC 500 tho in exchange for the old LS I have but man that LC is not a cheap car. May have to do a quick first impressions vid with it at the dealer and perhaps but the bimmer on swap a lease. I want to keep the Bimmer tho awesome ride like you said
@@MeynMotorGroup Watch out for Blake Swan. He's a Lexus hater. He always posts on Alex on Autos, Redline Reviews, etc on how cheap and crappy Lexus are.
I’m getting old, veering away from sporty cars & moving into the comfort class. Also not a fan of these modern, scowling grills; makes the car look like a monster. Love my just purchased 2010 ES 350 with the old grill.
Sorry I'm stuck with my 2010 IS350 RWD. IMO I hate the big MOUTH grill and the harsh ride. Too stiff and the seats are not comfortable for distance longer than 3 hours...
