Philly DA Larry Krasner speaks on fight against Act 40, SEPTA violence

In the latest episode of Battleground Politics, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner spoke with Lauren Mayk about his ongoing fight against Act 40, a new law that would give a special prosecutor jurisdiction over any crime committed on SEPTA’s property. Krasner also spoke about his disagreement with Governor Josh Shapiro over Act 40, the recent violence on and near SEPTA properties, working with the city's new mayor and new police commissioner and whether or not he plans to run for a third term.

Funny how Kensington is always spoken of but never regularly shown in the media. I can’t think of a better deterrent for drug addiction than showing this neighborhood on the news daily. They’re a protected class in Philly.

I think that it’s because the crime on SEPTA in Philly is so overwhelming that it needs a separate department. People don’t feel safe traveling on SEPTA & ride shares are so expensive & something needs to be done that separate from the day to day crime that is seen in Philly. I would think he would be welcome to any help. In regard to comments pertaining to democrats need to be democrats-residents can vote how ever they want…it doesn’t always need to be about political parties.

I ride septa all the time because I no longer drive. Have rarely had a problem.
Their problem, imo, is they don't properly deploy the cops they have and there aren't enough of them. I have never seen one on a bus, ever.
They could fix that. So why don't they?
