Jeremy - you are a gift to anyone - novice or pro - who wishes to enjoy and creatively experience playing the piano - whether novice or pro 🙏🏽 thank you
good lordykins i just went and had a listen to that Ray Brown, Gene Harris, Mickey Roker '85 miss jones .... unhh go hard or go home ...talk about the rhythm of life... woah those guys weren't taking any prisoners.
This is a great video. I’ll have to give it a rewatch to see what you do when there is a major 7th in the melody. I’m looking forward to trying this out next time I jump on the piano
Great point - it's definitely harder to execute when there are conflicting notes in the melody, but if you phrase it so that those notes don't stick out, you won't have a problem.
Groovin' on Sunday afternoon in the local Jazz bar where a liitle Tabasco is well-appreciated. Gene Harris, Red Garland, and Georgia w the Ray Charles changes.Thank you, Jeremy.😎🌹😎
Saw a video a while back that made me realize you can change most minor chords to dominant as a reharm method (I'll say most should the raised 3rd create a b9 clash [I guess if the 11th is the melody note?]). This video reminded me of that and now put in my harmony toolbelt that I can reharm major chords too if I want to write a blues! Thanks Jeremy!
Hi Jeremy thank you very much for this interesting video. I do like the way you teach I am stuying your second book fundamental I encourage all piano student to buy it it is a valuable book with ideas to work on for impro. Do you intend to write a number three. regards
Surprised you altered the F# dim since it is in essence a rootless dominant flat 9, which is what you’re going for with the other chords. What am I missing?
Thanks Jeremy. Great stuff. Just to mention, there is a cut in close up section at around 7:10 to 8:17 where it appears that the sound drops out. 😊

Ooh, those are some greats! Good call, Brenda!
Great video! Gene Harris is my favorite pianist so I love the insights. Looks like the bridge of Rhythm Changes would be ready-made for this approach.
Very useful lesson Jeremy!
Many thanks, Francesco! Enjoy it!
Great teacher always
Your book is arriving this afternoon and I’m very excited 😆
Nice! Enjoy it - happy practicing!
Fascinating! Great information! 😊

Jeremy, I’m going to be in your August Stanford piano workshop. Is there any chance we can work on this subject during it?
Ooh, looking forward to seeing you there, John! We can definitely chat about this!
i like your lessons but your volume level is so low try to resolve that issue thanks
Thanks - always working on it, Junior!
No sound from 7:12 to 8: 17 (or 8:20)

I'm not totally sure where you are in the tune - let's chat about this at Stanford!
I mean i enjoy looking at your face, so...
It will be cool to have the opposite. Make a blues tune not sound bluesy
