    Tempted by Prime day SSD deals, I again looked up my old laptop's options and spent ages confused that the manual talked about m.2 NGFF SSDs, but scanner tools pointed me to what I eventually realised were 2.5" SSD, to actually replace my HDD.
    To check my understanding, while it'd probably be a waste to buy an upgrade for an old laptop, rather than build a desktop, NVMe cards would fit my empty slot, I just wouldn't get all full performance from them (though NGFF specific cards are no cheaper)?
    Assuming my two ports don't share hardware lanes.
    My other SSD option would be to buy a 2.5" drive and use another computer to clone my current HDD to it.
