I miss the L-10111.....listen how quiet it is while in cruise :) you can clearly hear the sound of the paper while the F/O is studying some charts :) When they interviewed the CPT, I thought the interview was made on ground with only the APU running :)
Do airline engines have turning gear like the turbines in a power station? Is it run off of the APU pneumatics or does the generator act as a motor to keep the engine rotating?
are they comply with etops or anythings base of that. At the quick briefing by captain i didnt heard anything such that. He mention just some airports to divert in case of emergency. I wanna know how they operate antantic flight in those day with this type of aircraft .
Ege Konuk these aircraft were designed in an age before modern flight management systems and used the INS, inertial navigation system as primary navigation over water. highly accurate and dependable.
951 views, 0 comments? Nice I love the L1011
Love how the approach plate doesn’t move while moving the yoke. That’s was a brilliant design function!
I really miss these planes. I think my last flight on an L1011 was in 1997. Great video. Thanks for posting.
I have a 1:250 bwia l1011 500
Easily one of the finest commercial airplanes ever built! That flight deck may be as quiet as a 717.

wish Lockheed still made airliners..the L-10 was/is a great aircraft
I miss the Tristar :-( I was fortunate enough to have been on it several times as a child on Saudia flights from JED-CDG and back.
The cockpit windows are so much larger than DC10's
Voei para Punta cana e Natal (Brasil) neste avião! Bem velhinho mas seguro!!!
Outros tempos!!!
Starting at 3:15, the Captain pluralize most every word he says in his speech by adding an S at the end. lol
Never mind, "inglês aportuguesado" (portuguese english), as we say around here XD
A historic video here, this aircraft (assuming both videos were shot on CS-TMX) was scrapped in 2008. A pity.
Nothing like seeing a JustPlanes video in one's sub box.
Bestes Passagierflugzeug, das jemals gebaut wurde!
fantastic as always:)
Awesome!!!
Fantástico, quem me dera ter voado num Tristar...
@SWA737JK It's called a Tiller, Think of it as a steering wheel whilst the aircraft is on the ground
Guy please take me for your company i miss flights so much. Have flown around 700 h as a bush pilot

the t in etops is for twin engine, 1011 is a three engine aircraft
Maybe it's for tri or three engine then?
awesome
I wonder why they didn't have any PAX on the way back? Ferry flight?
Portuguese Accent. Yes is an old Portuguese Charter Airliner, the pilots are portuguesde.....
portuguesde?
3.50, did he say 75,000 feet?
Good video but how old is this footage?
