I feel like he wouldn't be anywhere near as good as TaskMaster if he wasn't as sweet as he genuinely is. If he was actually a mean-spirited dictator, the show would lose its mischievious and light-hearted air that allows the audience to laugh when someone does something dumb because they are human or when he does judge unfairly for shits and giggles. It's never mean-spirited because he's an actually arrogant and spiteful person but, rather, because it's funny and everyone's fair game, including him.
If Greg thought for one second someone was genuinely upset (Katherine ryan, for example), he'd be shutting the whole thing down, as would alex.
Greg Davies is a gent and a scholar. No matter how evil or bad ass he’s trying to be, it always comes across as if he’s about to p!ss himself with laughter.

There's been many times I've disagreed with Davies judgement. Just makes the show all the more enjoyable though.
Oh yeah I'm constantly at odds with Davies' decisions but as you say, this just makes it all the more enjoyable.
When he gave Mark Watson's £400 hat 4th place I cracked the fuck up, the judgement is just another element of the comedy imo

The UK is truly the king for comedy panel shows, although the genre originated in America. As a country, many here in the UK just idealise wordplay above anything actually physical, glamourous, totally serious. It's a decadent luxury of the UK , in a way, a hangover from the 1700s/1800s, that sound waves, whether by our comedians , actors, or singers, are such a major currency to us and , in the modern world, our schools and universities, beyond just Oxbridge, seem to have been good incubators of this.

Criticise what I have to say by all means (and quietly think that you'd do other things in life by all means - but what difference does it make?) but at least do it logically with evidence instead of giving the impression that anything that sounds 'high falutin' would be dismissed by you regardless of its truth. Next, you don't reckon that the 1700s and 1800s saw the direct precursors of modern day parlour games? The TaskMaster would be far far far more preferable as president becaue he actually has some class. Other countries just don't understand our pain.

Sam Shorto I don't watch comedians or actors because of their political affiliations or views. They're personal options are fine but they are purely that, if they want a platform to put them forward I'd prefer them to not piggyback on a shows success to do so.
simonwest1977 Perhaps other people do watch them for that reason. It may shock you but the world doesn't revolve around you and you're not entitled to dictate what comedians can and can't say on any given TV show. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Simple as that.
