I’m hoping Ridley Scott releases the 4 hour extended cut by summer or fall 2024. He can take his time on the extended cut, I just want to take my time seeing the cut version before I binge watch the extended version day after day.

can't squeeze Napoleon's rise from being a second lieutenant to being an emperor, his campaigns from spain, egypt and russia, his personal life and of course, his marshals and their fates into one movie, doesn't matter if it's a 4-hour long movie, it should be a series. I would recommend BBC's Heroes and Villains - Napoleon, while it doesn't contain all of the parts, but the depiction is much more accurate rather than Ridley Scott's Napoleon which is considered to be "ahistorical". Napoleon leading a cavalry charge on horseback? Give me a break.
Just as with Kingdom of Heaven , we -- need and want -- the whole story _ directors version of this film . It is history and it can not be short changed !! Please release the extended version soon , thanks.
I really don't know how to describe the film. The history that was bad, acting good from the leads, story all over the place. Generaly I enjoyed the film but when yoy know the history. They should have stuck with that and it would have been a far better film. Cause the actual history is so much more better.

If i were to remove the muskets and put swords and Viking armor on the armies. The battle would actually be better

I don’t have a problem with making the battle more dramatic but then to talk about the battle and get the facts completely wrong is pathetic. Also what’s the point of even having a rifle if all you do is send your men in to fight hand to hand and hope they win…

Austerlitz is defined by the 3rd coalition forces occupying the pratzen heights and giving it up to Napoleon, not the other way round as shown in the movie. Napoleon did NOT drown 2000 men over the lake retreat. This has been proven time and time again since the 90s. Listen to Andrew Roberts. Ridley Scott falling for literal Napoleonic propaganda from over 200 years ago. How embarrassing.

Super cool effects and filmmaking, but just nonsense from a point of view of historical accuracy. Fewer than *200* men drowned in a series of ponds, not 2,000 in a great lake.

Phoenix plays an old, socially incompetent sex driven sad bore who showed none of the brilliance or charisma the real napoleon had. The battle scenes are also either complete fiction or gloss over the real battles. The timeliness is completely screwed as it jumps past years of important events.
