You can’t really be that certain about where the shotput would hit him when falling from above. It depends strongly on the positions Rantarou would’ve been standing in, and the image that shows him reaching towards the camera is bent down, making it more likely that the shotput would hit the back of his head, so it becomes easy to rationalise that such would happen. Plus, given Kaede’s own belief that she was the killer would get in the way, because with the camera intervals, there was absolutely zero way to prove any other person had been present during the murder.
English translation for the end part that isn't part of the climax: Saihara: This is the truth that came to us, right, Shirogane-san? Tsumugi: Ri-right... what? Amusingly enough, one reason behind why Kaede wasn't the real protagonist of the game is her seiyuu didn't voiced in a robot show like Megumi Ogata/Megumi Hayashibara (Evangelion), Minami Takayama (Escaflowne) and Aya Uchida (Kiddy Grade) did XD

Also Rantaro was Probably the Ultimate Lucky Student, I mean we had one in every Main DR game so far and Rantaro survived the ball attack! So that I'm a way is enough proof that he was the Ultimate Lucky Student!!!

Kaede y Saihara descubrieron la puerta oculta en la biblioteca dandose cuenta que podria ser donde la mente maestra se esconde asi que idearon un plan para descubrir su identidad con las cámaras de vigilancia sin embargo Kaede por si sola decidio elaborar un trampa el cual resulto mal y Rantaro queria atraparla ya que al tener el monopad con prestaciones del sobreviviente (mapa) mas el video mensaje de si mismo y al no confiar en nadie por su perdida de memoria decidio ir solo a investigar en la biblioteca para atrapar a la mente maestra pero al final ambos fallaron
