- The U.S. has the largest amateur adult figure skating scene in the world, boasting nearly 500 competitors. Philadelphian Anya Saretzky quit figure skating as a kid because she could not land the sport’s hardest jump: the axel. Anya returned to the sport as an adult and is determined to land the single axel in her 30s.

Anya, from one adult figure skater to another, congratulations on your figure skating accomplishments! 🙂❤
Great story! As a 45 year old skater in the Philly area, I could really relate to this! Thanks for sharing ❤❤
Her commitment is amazing
Her casually skating on backyard ice is wild to me
Congratulations Anya on finding your joy! Coach Jimis the best!

DOPE
I am actually featured (if you blink, you will miss me..@6:00.) in this documentary. I competed in the competition that is featured in this documentary. After my performance, Anya's coach encouraged me to continue with competitive skating. There have been several times that I have thought about leaving the sport, but I remember those kind words and persist. Several skaters have reached out to me regarding my short cameo. I just wanted to thank Anya, her coach, Jimi Lewis, and PBS for spotlighting this story. -@reverse-a1conice on UA-cam.
