I have a long way to go as I started shooting a year ago. But I had my gun fit by Dr Shotgun this spring. My Trap scores went from 13 avg and an occasional 16 to 17 avg and an occasional 20.
I never comment on youtube videos but wanted to here. I collect mostly english shotguns and have hunted birds all over the US and canada. I have taken lessons from Bryan Belinski (Dr. Shotgun) and have known him casually for many years. He is an absolute gentleman and has forgotten more about this discipline than I guarantee most of us know. He ran the Orvis shooting school many years ago when he went to the UK and brought back Sporting Clays. He now does gun fittings and gives shooting lessons near his shop Fielsport, in Traverse City MIch. For any of you that felt the need to correct him in this video, you are just plain wrong!!
Great video. U2 look like twins (4:27 etc.). I dink all shotguns should have adjustable buttstock and even a choice of forearm shape. With a good coach n mounting practice, i hope i can reach 70% hits or dare say, 85%?
HI John, SXS mounting is the same but fitting for cast (right to left) is based on the rib not the barrels. Most imported SXSs also have a thinner stock which can affect cast. They often also have a lower stock because the the barrel profile is usually lower than in an OU. All this being said every gun and every shooter is unique but gun mountings should always be the same.
Brian "brought clay shooting to the US"? Interesting...George Ligowsky of Cincinatti, was awarded the patent for clay (then teracatta) targets in 1880, two years later he was awarded another patent for a "thrower" AKA, the Ligowski trap....well before Brian.
Dear Sir..... I cannot tell you how good this video is my friend.. Oh my gosh people you need to watch...regards Robert walsh... Irish

How much did it cost?
Wherever these guys go, there’s a band following them around playing bad rock music.
I get distracted by shiny things too,, there called new guns!

What a great Video!!
IF IT'S EMPTY, WHO CARES, HE IS FITTING THE GUN, THEY WILL BE FINE.

Nice video on gun fitting. Wonder what he ended up getting afterwards.
I have so many adjustments on my gun that I am sure that it is not correct! If I were located anywhere near this gentleman I would consult him!
Nice guys 😃👍🏻
This man was dropping his head into the stock after mounting ? Bad in my book
Is this necessary for a field gun as well?
Great! But what about sxs? Same technic?

Nice
we do have cameras and mirrors so you don't need to point the gun at a person anymore
If it's cleared by both parties who cares. You're not dry firing at the guy anyways
Good vid but I noticed that thr 3 finger rule wasn’t applied. It looked more like 4 fingers
Why is he shooting top barrel?
To produce the tightest pattern on the plate, the tighter it is the easier to see the accuracy.
How many $ does Dr. Shotgun cost?
Where does rock music fit into this?

I BELIEVE HE IS REFERRING TO SPORTING CLAY??
Interesting... you completely missed the point somehow, they said he "brought sporting clay" to the US... not "invented clay targets".
Pail pay attention sir. “ Sporting clay” different than trap and skeet. You with me bro? Follow?
Make the gun fit you, not the other way around. Then practice practice practice
What is the gun in the video?
The sxs is a Winchester model 21. The try gun is a 680 action based Beretta.
