1. Lack Fruit of the Spirit 2. Minimal structure of Accountability (no elders or leaders accountable or leadership structure; toxic leaders don't want accountability) 3. They expect behavior of others they don't expect of themselves. (They are not doing what they ask for you to do. They don't walk the talk, they do whatever they please and only see errors in someone else's ways.) 4. They see almost everyone as inferior to themselves. (They talk about others actions and compare) 5. They show favoritism. 6. (To only ones who give positive feedbacks and ones who align perfectly with themselves. Likely to have click, and group around them, yes-people, ones who always want to please leaders.) 7. Self-absorbed. Me, Myself, and I. Can not see what others see. Thank you, this is helpful.
Just subscribed after watching, through recommendation of Jennifer LeClaire. Really helped me do a quick self examination and identify pitfalls. Thank you.
A toxic leader is toxic for the whole community and should be placed out of position! Let it be so, binding every toxic leader in my life, the lives of my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquintances, opponents and the body of Christ to be placed out of position, binding myself not to be unequally yoked with and have any common share with those being toxic leaders, in accordance with acts 1:20, 2 corinthians 6:14-18 and this word in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!
I just left a church that is toxic not only the pastor but the leaders are as well with a small group of yes people sucking up to the pastor and when you tell the truth they don't want to hear it, they say you are sowing discord so the sickophants send out letters to ask you to leave ( yes spiritual abuse),so I left.
Thom, Thank you for this video cast. Being from Tennessee I always think of my grandfather when I hear the word cast. He taught me to fish. We fished many of the lakes in middle Tennessee. Some were deep and some were shallow. Nearly all of them were man-made. When you fish in your own body of water, it is usually a man-made body. And there are some deep places where what you hook is not necessarily what you were fishing for. This video cast brought some things to the surface. Again, thank you.

For a follow up. Would like to see you address the traits of individuals who allow toxic leaders. Thanks.

How can you verify what is the spirit and what is NOT the spirit? It sounds like mystical hokey pokey.
Sounds like a narcissist.
BINGO💯
