Thrifting vinyl is absolutely worth it but persistence is the key. I've found some incredible records in thrift shops but most of the time I leave without records.
@@mountainmanpicker You will never find quality Rock albums in thrift shops; I have tried for a couple of decades with only scant success. I normally look for Elvis and Beatles albums and aside from used record stores, estate sales and a few garage sales, the only other place I have any luck is antique shops. With thrift shops, it’s consistently the same ol’, same ol’ 1960’s easy listening and pop.
@@kingelvis1956 , I once scored big and got a half dozen Yes albums in good shape and a couple Saxon , but yeah you have a point . That said on rare occasion you can find some interesting compilations or some very good Jazz or classical pressings .
@@kingelvis1956 I agree that it is hard to find good quality rock albums in thrift shops, and my antique stores always provide the best Rock LP finds for me. I also look for Beatles and Elvis (mostly at estate sales).... however, I have got lucky at thrift shops quite a few times. Some examples of VG or better LPs I have found at thrift shops: Parliament, Jefferson Airplane, CSNY, Allman Brothers, Steppenwolf, Beach Boys, Beatles (Sgt. Pepper), a still sealed rare Heavy Metal LP, a rare Clash LP, etc..) but ... I had to be persistent and go to the shops every week. Thanks for your comments, my friend! Cheers!
@@Matias-music-71 I love finding a good Yes album, I hardly ever pass them up even though I have so many! I once found a very clean copy of Yessongs at a thrift shop. Thanks for the comments!
I need to take you with me on my next pick, my friend! I'm still working on my Jazz pick skills, saving up your tips and always appreciate them. Thanks!
That Dick Dale looked inviting. That grouping is a treasure trove compared to the charity shops around me. The same type of albums but for 3-buck-apiece and in ten-times worse shape. I've stopped going. I can get that same sort of stuff at my local record shop - in better shape and for 60 cent-apiece.
Sounds like you have a good record shop there. Are you in the UK? I’m always trying to find new shops and sources for vintage vinyl, so stay tuned for more videos.
@@mountainmanpicker I'm in Toronto. I also frequent a shop in Santa Monica that has some really good dollar-bin deals. I'm always envious of these guys who post videos of Goodwill and other charity shops, where they're walking away with fistfuls of top releases. Never landed anything remotely interesting in a charity shop and I have looked.
Thanks for the advice! I'll try to snag them next time I'm picking for Vinyl. I do have a lot of those RCA Living Stereo LPs, and I'll make room for more. Great tips, thanks man.
Thanks for the tips, I have a large collection of Martin Denny and I've sold hundreds of Martin Denny records. Don't have many Dick Dale though, appreciate the helpful tips!
Yeah, I think it's worth it. I wouldn't mind finding some Earl "Fatha" Hines here. I also couldn't believe there was a Benny Goodman LP in there. Looks like beautiful late fall weather in Colorado.
I need to start looking more closely at the bins, your tips are always great! Thanks for watching and yes, the weather here is fantastic, another day in paradise!
No, I am actually electricstreamrecords on Discogs but not selling from Discogs at present, only buying from sellers on Discogs. Thanks for asking! Check the link in descriptions for our eBay store: 5 Star General Store
Thanks for watching and for the comment. I did not know that either ..... but, seems that German pressings are everywhere here! That's okay, most of them sound great!

You're absolutely right, and that's what keeps me coming back! Thanks for checking out the video and stay tuned for more.
Even though the sleeve is pretty beat up, the Anita O"Day album at @ 11:48 is a very valuable jazz vocal album.
Thanks for the tip! 👍🏼😃
Goodwill charges $1.79 per here in Indy
That’s a great price 👍🏼 they have all gone up to $2.99+ here in Colorado. I used to get them for 50 cents each at Goodwill. Thanks for the info!
The June Christy album at @ 11:32 is a good jazz vocal album worth picking up for $3.
Thanks for the great tip!
Looks like all the typical thrift shop crap we see on any given day
Thanks, any suggestions on where to shop? Appreciate the comments and thanks for the view.

@@mountainmanpicker Would be fun! Your fishing holes seem to be better than the ones I frequent here in Minnesota.
I see they had some Schlager records. Look for Nonstop Dancing 1973 James Last. He does a Hawkwind cover of Silver Machine.
Thanks for the tip on that! I will look for those LPs, appreciate the comments 👍🏼
I have no Idea who Mario Rovi is, but I have an autographed copy similar to what you flipped past.
Very interesting 🤨 I don’t know of Mario Rovi either but that’s cool you have an autographed copy! I’ll check into his stuff, thanks for sharing 👍🏼

Dude. You should buy ALL that RCA Living Stereo stuff if it's in decent condition. It sounds amazing and is becoming VERY collectable.

Absolutely even if it's just one good dollar record!!
Agree completely! Thanks for checking out the video.
Dick Dale and Martin Denny are very collectible and people buy them
That Dick Dale LP appeared to be a singer from the Lawrence Welk show, not "King of the Surf Guitar."

@@mountainmanpicker , yes I have a few myself , and Dutch

Thanks for watching! These LPs were all in pristine condition, so I was happy to pay $2 each for them.
Waste of time, picked thru by staff, then by pro pricer who comes in,then scraps left for you.the inner sleeves are of better use.
Thanks for your input and stay tuned for more picking videos coming real soon!
@ Estate Sales a 🦌 is The Going Price 4 Lps.
Appreciate the feedback and I agree! 👍🏼
The Kai Winding album at @ 11:44 is a good jazz album worth picking up for $3.
Great to know about this, thanks!
