Yes, I guess I’m just a really frugal candle person. I usually keep the scented ones for decades unused just for the scent. Just a neat thing I have learnt in this process: budget for more candles than I expected. :)

Why are you surprised that the guests use the candle? Is that not why it's there? For an $8,000 p/m fee I would expect high end candles.
