LOVE LOVE LOVE! Thank you SO much for making this film with us, Bear! You are amazing!
This sounds like classic Loony Toons music. I love it!
Mr. McCreary this is just so different to the other things you've done! It's very circusy!!!!
Circus and then the y. Get it?
My thoughts exactly..will watch just out of curiosity..
No hurdy gurdy, but the kazoos were a fun touch.
Funny you'd mention this -- and yeah, hurdy gurdy would've been right at home with this instrumentation. The reason there's no hurdy gurdy in ANIMAL CRACKERS is that I actually composed this score while I was in the middle of scoring GOD OF WAR. I think because the hurdy gurdy was all over that score, I needed a break from it.
@@bearmccreary Hurdy Gurdy Hangover is a thing?
@@bearmccreary Man, I did not know that! That's smart in two ways:
1. Get more creative with an instrument you've probably used once for the "Walking Dead"
2. Its always good to look for more ways to get creative!
I remember he used kazoos in the Child's Play soundtrack. Guess he liked them that much
Your music is so unique; the way you put all the effort in creating different styles so every movie (and series) can have its own feel is fascinating to me. You are a very talented man, Mr. McCreary and I admire you for that!!
He reminds me of Jerry Goldsmith, Danny Elfman, Bernard Herrmann and Elmer Bernstein, the influences are there but he has a style unique to himself. In Agents of Shield he channels John Williams l and wrote one of my favourite themes of the past 15 years.
I love how there's an actual BEAR conducting the orchestra with McCreary's hairstyle in the cover of the album. Pretty detail right there.
Bear Mccreary's music is just so different, it can be booming and loud, but still be quiet and small, and this score definitely shows that.
"Black Sails", "Outlander", "The Walking Dead", "10 Cloverfield Lane", "Godzilla: King of Monsters". These are the works that introduce me to the musical world of Bear McCreary. But, with "Animal Crackers", this is something completely different.
Its absolutely fantastic how the style of McCreary still managed to get the attention of the entire audience. It seems we are going to have so much fun with this score.
Dont forget god of war childs play and happy death day
Battlestar Galactica
You should listen to his scores for The Cape and Human Target, amazing Orchestral writing that evokes Elfman, Walker and Bernstein
Seriously, Mr. McCreary, I've never heard about you before Animal Crackers, and I'm interested in discovering new composers that are as good as some of the bigger composers out there. And I wanna say, you've done a *GREAT* job! Not only with Animal Crackers, but the other things you've composed! This is just so unique.
The kazoos! Brilliant!
The brass have an early Elfman feel to them but with a unique spin. I really like the music!
Absolutely, Bear has mentioned that Stylistically Danny Elfman is his biggest influence. This is Elfman through and through
I can totally see that influence in the film's score!!
Goddammit. Why is Bear so good at everything.
This is so fun and unique stylistically. But even if I didn't know it was you, there are still hints of Bear all over--especially the instrumentation and soulfulness, but also the melodic variety. Not to mention the sweet alternating figure at 1:04 that might as well be a signature for you...big BSG nostalgia. And the buildup at 3:10 gave me serious Christopher Chance vibes. Beautiful music as always!
One word... Wow! I absolutely love it! We definitely needed this in these crazy times.
🙏🏻 Thanks for your art ❤️ Greetings from Argentina!
WOW! Just wow!!! I love this music!!! 💕
Wow, i knew the movie was ok, but the music.
Now, i Will watch it.
The genius of Bear!!!💙
Everytime you work on something it blows me away. Great work as always bear!
Oh I love it ... Parts of this feel inspired by Danny Elfman to me ... Though my ear has never been that great :P
indeed it sounds a bit like Danny Elfman's style but even better
I guess modern composers know their influences, they somehow do it better than who are they paying homage to?
Bear this is beautifully done. I love the soft melodic strings in the middle best. So good!
More great work Bear!
I bought a ticket to "Child's Play." When I saw you were composing it, I knew it was money well spent. I LOVE this score! I want you to compose EVERYTHING.
I liked the concept, overall great video
