Honestly a great watch, I really enjoy watching speedrunners that aren't literal computers, I like those literal computers aswell but I really enjoy the little errors, like the accidental roll, shooting Ingward for a bit too long, honestly great job. I've just 3 questions though 1. Why didn't you just get black firebombs for asylum? I feel like I missed it and you took a different class and the master key as the gift, kinda a dumb question but still wondering 2. Why do you often hold a shield up when running? 3. Is the dropmod allowed in speedrunning? If no, did you just do this for practice then?
1. You need the master key as a starting item in this route in order to get to quelaag asap. If you go thief so you can take firebombs as a starting item and have master key, it costs too many souls to be able to get the stats to use BKH for Quelaag so we start hunter with master key. 2. Blocking, toggling, and 2 handing our weapons makes the character's "start sprinting" animation end a couple frames sooner so you reach max running speed faster 3. Dropmod is a potential subcategory that we might add to the speedrun leaderboard so I just wanted a run with it to put something on there. It allows us to ensure a given item is dropped 100% of the time, and the item affected in this case was BKH. It's technically practice ATM but in the future it could potentially be submitted to the leaderboard
watching you gives me fuel to do it so i tried for about a week to get my head around it and figuring paths for my self, my best time was 1:50:1 . still trying to break the curse of dying to nito 5~10 times and to gwyn 3~4 times 😅 .
@giornogiovanna725 nah, the first encounter is just a means of sending you to the prison. It's not actually required if you just do duke skip (not considered a glitch by the overarching community)
Surprisingly yes lol, technically you initiate the roll while still on collision even though there isnt any visible texture. and then you land with I frames under the same clause as ceaseless skip. I did a GDQ showcase of this back in May and kept saying "Glitchless btw" the whole time lol
Thought I explained this in the description, but it's a mod that allows us to ensure given items will always drop. There has been demand for adding "fake" BKH drop runs to the leaderboard for years, so this was our solution to that
Nope, not deemed a glitch by the community. It looks like one if you dont know what's going on but it's a slope roll, similar to the one that allows for ceaseless discharge skip and many small damage instances throughout the game in general. The game only registers fall damage when on stable ground, but you are always able to walk/ roll while falling down slopes (which is what is in the clip) the way this differs from air rolls or other glitched means of negating fall damage is that you aren't doing any mechanics that are not "intended" like air rolls, fall control quitouts, etc. You just walk/ roll down a slope in a normal actionable state, and I frame the fall damage at the bottom.

GGs QQ very good Run! And also thanks for being so invested in building up this new Leaderboard with Dropmod
my ego tells me, i can do this shit ez (I died on asylum demon)
😂😂
Oh this guy is fast. Just how fast? To give you a reference point, he's somewhere between a snake and a mongoose. And a panther.
Great run but I have a question. Aren't you forced to lose to Seath the first time you fight him?

@QueueKyoo oh cool. Thanks
bro could have unlocked the daugther of chaos bonfire then warped to it to go to lost izalith and could have saved a lot of time
that would work in ptde but not in remastered, you casul
33:15 thats really glitchless ?

what is dropmod and why is it on the leaderboards now

Fair enough
What does dropmod do?
Drop mod just takes luck out of the equation of runs. Enemies will always drop the rare items so that he doesn’t have to keep restarting
13:20 isn't that a glitch?
