Great subject. I certainly lean towards beautiful cards with the game "Parks" being the best example with tarot-sized cards.

I haven't played many of these games, but I immediately thought of Parks, Trekking the World, Trekking the National Parks, and Arboretum! I also love about anything Ryan Laukat creates.

I love Ryan Laukat! But I think Ancient World is the closest game where the majority of the game is cards.

For me the most beautiful card art (from the games I own so far) is Roll Camera: The Filmmaking Board Game. But Epic Spell Wars have some potential too.

- Raiders of Scythia
and I know it’s not a mainly card game, but honourable mention for the wild artwork on Cosmic Frog cards!

I've bought two games in my life solely based on the art; not knowing anything else about them: Abyss and Seasons. Luckily, I enjoyed both games as much as the art, with Seasons even in my top ten favorite games of all time.

There is this small card game (the box - it needs quite some table space) called 'Enchanted Plumes', that consists of different beautifully coloured peacock feathers, where the object is to create your own peacocks and peacock-tails.
My advise is to check this out, if you have the opportunity. Alicia especially will like the look of this game very much, I guess.
