I wonder if she takes the first word/character or two from the beginning of each line of the recipe and uses that as a kind of mnemonic description, coming up with something as delightfully nonsensical as though we did that with a Fanny Farmer recipe, even when passed through Google Translate, which would not be to blame. And then sometimes a typo is made copying the resulting English text into the closed captions, and sometimes autocorrect then "fixes" it. By all means do not steam the steamed buns either, and never burn the hand soft fire.

In Pakistan....we call these cakes as parathas.... mostly green onions aren't added....but the same technique is used for making them.....this is the traditional breakfast.....served with eggs....curry(salan,or sabzi)....and milk tea....yeah and we actually love it...chai patatha....😋😋

For some years, frozen green onion pancakes were the best I'd had. I had tried making my own a number of times. I can now make better than frozen ones. Her technique is a departure from most i have seen but looks worth trying.

So me and my bf tried the scallion pancakes. They were okay, a little lacking in flavour perhaps. We both agreed it wasn't worth the effort to make again but it was a fun experience. If anyone did want to make them tho, here's a few things we learnt:
1. Don't roll out the dough too thin before cooking or you'll end up with something that is too dry with little flavour.
2. If you don't have the thing she used to cook it in, a regular frying pan will do. Do put the lid on tho - we found this helped retain some moisture and added more spring onion flavour.
3. A tiny sprinkling of salt once cooked helps immensely in bringing out the flavour. We dipped ours in some garlic chili sauce too which was nice.

I love this! I have two questions for anyone who knows:
When the dough is in the little cinnamon roll-like form, but not rolled out flat, could you just cook it like that? Would come out well?
And two, what did she add to the flour and hot oil mixture? It looked like some kind of glazed meatballs or something?
1.These are salted egg onion pastries so need to roll flat.
2. Flour + hot oil + 2 salted egg
Pretty sure that it's ok if you just cook it like that. It would still taste good
U hv to roll it flat cos There's no baking powder or yeast inside the dough, u cant just cook it like that.
And the two meat ball- looking things are two cooked salted duck egg yolk.
The idea of rolling it is to produce a flaky flat pastry. I could see air frying the buns if preferred, however.

Wow, it must be very nice with salted egg yolk added. You can make until the last step and pour in more oil to the buns , cover and chill. The next morning, just take them out, press to round and can fry.
