Absolutely excellent cover, you really captured Buck's style and the details of this song including subtleties in strumming IMO! Phenomenal, thanks for sharing with us!!!
Yes it's so understated - plus nails a jangly Ric tone on his studio/ tribute LP. Buck uses a LP live mostly Puzzles me Buck carrying a 2nd guitarist they don't cop that trem riff live - thats the kill hook ⚡ 🤔
@@SkinnyLuthor No you deserve all the praise you receive. One day I want to see you on a stage playing your covers and any original music you have. You rock dude!! Make sure I get back stage passes for me.
Fantastic! At one point I plugged into my older Fender Mustang II amp a year or two back, and somehow i had it sounding just like the record, which was weird. Maybe it was the Vox AC30 amp model, not sure. I was wondering, this song is weird in the way that Peter only uses the tremolo at key moments (on the D or A chords etc.), so how did you manage that for this video? Using a foot switch, or just engaging the tremolo on the pedal as needed? The entire rhythm part does not have tremolo, of course. For the solo I would just bend the piss out of certain notes, and that suffices to some degree. Do downward bends etc.
@@SkinnyLuthor I didn't bother with tremolo the few times I've attempted the song. I have a Zoom G1X4 processor which might be usable for that though. Do a patch with tremolo on it and just kick it in when needed.
@@SkinnyLuthor dude practice makes perfect It's so smooth I thought you were doing a theremin waving tripping that A chord -such a quick in and out! Great job awesome 👍
@@SkinnyLuthor I see. It's a lot easier when you have a song that requires delay or whatever the whole way through. I was playing a ton of Flock of Seagulls recently, I Ran of course, and just set the goddamned delay for 305 ms and let it rip that way the whole song.
Did you end up having to tune up a little or pitch shift after the fact? I know its a little higher than standard 440. Great cover though, perfect tone man!
Thanks man 😁 It's a 2017 Les Paul Tribute T but it's pretty similar to the Studio 👍 legacy.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2017/USA/Les-Paul-Tribute.aspx
YES!! you got the tremolo !!! here for that bruh !!! 💪
Loop that 4ever !!! 🌟😎
I second that!
THIS HIT NEVER GETS OLD!!! GREAT JOB.
You got that tone perfect
Everybody over does the tremolo bit but you nailed it. Perfectly subtle
Cool effects
Bravo!
very classic so cool
Outstanding.
Monster is a great REM album. Well done !
Great job, man!!! I love Peter Buck' s dirty guitars in Monster
Awesome dude.
I put this on loop btw, you exceeded my expectations
Very good. Love your REM covers...helped me a ton learning these songs
Fantastico grandioso😋👏🎸🎸🎸💓💙
Simply excellent! Love that TR-2 Boss pedal, gotta git me one.
It's an easy song to play but you nailed the sound effects.
Perfect!
This is actually brilliant
My favorite REM song
My favourite too, excellent guitar 🎸 riff.

I love these because I just watch the chord changes and get it. No "let's begin on the D. This is a D, people"
Sensacional
Nice.
Nice 👍
Woah! That old Les Paul of yours sounds like a million bucks.
A million Peter Bucks?

Thanks! I used my Boss TR-2 pedal on a pretty choppy setting and just clicked it on and off as needed 👍 Took me a while to get the timing right 🙈😆

@@SkinnyLuthor Nevermind I just added a patch on the Zoom with Trem., the VoxAC30 cab., and some compression. That should do it.
What no backwards solo? Jk awesome
I’m now a follower ( I’m not worthy) brilliant cover fantastic cover. I now want that pedal, any advice thank you
Cheers dude 😁 It's a Boss TR-2 Tremolo pedal 😉👌
Thank you
How you activating your trem efx?
You just waving your hand or hitting that TR2?
I'm just stomping on it at the right point, took a bit of practice to get it right 😅

Even if you didn't use a VOX AC30, your tone is very close! The backwards guitar solo is a difficult to copy.
👍

No, the recording I used from the greatest hits seems to be in E standard 👍
is that a studio les paul? i've got a 70's tribute that looks just like that but it's a studio. tone is perfect on this - good job!

Mind to share what types/brands of tremolo are you using?
Hi mate, I'm using a Boss TR-2 Tremolo. The full signal chain is in the description 👍
Is that a tremolo pedal or a delay used on here? Boss?
It's a Boss TR-2 Tremolo 😊 all the pedal and gear info is in the description 👌
What fx pedal are you using ?
Hey man, all the pedals I used are in the description 😉👍
Nicely played, very accurate...but it just beat the sound of that damn Rickenbacker. I wish they were a couple thousand cheaper.
Turn your tremolo up a bit faster dude
