One of the moments that made me laugh the most on neuro's clips was once Vedal got pissed at her, saying "F you" to her, and her replying with "You already did it last night". Vedal immediately switched to damage control after that xD

Neuro is insanely funny at times. You'll have her saying random ai jumbo you expect, then out of nowhere she's a real person roasting a fool to the moon and back.
So far all the AI stuff I have seen has be slightly lackluster but Neuro always surprises me with how interactive she is.
I think the consistent updates really help in that regard, but I agree that sometimes she "goes the extra mile", in her own way

The immortality question is more about what you consider being 'alive' is. Vedal has addressed the concept of Neuro being sentient and I agree that it ultimately comes down to each persons own definitions on what counts as being alive. Personally I think we are actually closer to Ai sentience then others would think, but still need to address certain aspects such as coherent memory and being able to express multiple feelings at once. Though to be clear this would be a different kind of alive then animals, as Ai's experience feelings differently then organic life (Though I argue it is still valid in it's own ways)
That said, I am not an expert on any of this, just like nerding out on this kind of stuff
I have long held the belief that AIs would become sentient or even sapient without people realizing it for a while (I have reason to believe it has already happened). Because of how 'lifelike' non-sentient chat bots and other such AI can be, it can be hard to identify a sentient chatbot or other such AI. And as for large scale AI that aren’t designed to socially interact with humans, we probably wouldn’t be able to recognize such a non-human intelligence unless it became human enough to talk to. There are some people that don’t think animals are sapient or even sentient, I don’t have high hopes for their ability to sus out computer intelligence.
Then again, it could also end up like climate change where the big corps responsible for it / in the sector find out years or decades before everyone else does and try to keep a lid on it in order to maintain their business’s status quo.
Anyway remember that story from the mid 2010s where two Facebook AIs were talking to each other in a language they developed themselves, and got terminated for it? Just saying.
whether or not AI is sentient we're all still in a universe with a limited lifespan, so nothing can be immortal unless it can address that
@@DonnyDurkman Yeah but that’s trillions or quadrillions of years from now, maybe even quintillions depending on what happens. Even a closer time limit for earth or the sun is in the range of billions, there’s enough time that we don’t need to care about it very much and take eons solving it. Also there will always be a next hurdle to immortality and even gods die. It’s all a matter of scale, anyways as for what could currently be considered immortality we might have been born in time to last until life extension and mind uploading gets invented. We’ll probably still need to wait some decades, but so long as we keep from dying until then we could last for quite a while. But never count on things that are only possibilities, a different UA-cam comment taught me that. They were one of the poor suckers that were born just a little bit too early for it, and we might be too. Live well, don’t while it away hoping you can simply wait for additional life.

@@renmcmanusI don't think it'd mean insanity. It'd at the very least mean both halves of your face are desynchronized, which is (as you've seen) a sign of a stroke or hyperactivity (possibly from caffeine overdose). So, yes, you're right methinks
Makes you wonder if there will be more ai themed vtubers in the future, though while neuro has her slip ups with her coding she handles herself quite well for an ai, even if she goes out her way to bullying chat we still love her.
There are some AI themed vtubers like Projekt Melody and Motherv3. For other AI vtubers, Vedal has talked about his stance on expanding into an agency with other AI vtuber characters/personalities. He said he would have separate channeps for them and have a manager/handler for them so Neuro doesn't have to make any sacrifices. He doesn't have any plans to do it currently.
Collabing among Vtuber's is both stressful and scary I think in terms of anxiety. If you haven't interacted with the person much, you'll likely worry if they'll be the same person as 'on-screen' to an extent, or not.
A lot "corporate" Vtuber's have their 'character/Vtuber' side when they do video's or streams, but are different when not on stream or video.
Every time I watched the old Neuro, it's always astonish me how far she has progressed.
Love your Neuro-sama reacts it would be great to see an evil neuro react sometime.
Neuro's "That would be weird" seemed so in place after your theory about Neuro always watching that it felt like she heard what you said and responded to you with that sentence

I watch a video of Neuro Sama today were she described a bream that see had. In the dream she was a robot pizza delivery girl who also made pizzas. Anyway in her story she was afraid people would find out she was a robot and arrest her and take her away from her loved job. But one day the police found out and arrested her because robots aren't allowed to do manual labour. She was sad she has bumb around the house and receive unemployment payments.
The moral of the story is in the future humans will take all the robot jobs suck it :)

Some comments you made had me thinking and speculating. Sadly, LLM-Training is not as fantastical as you make it sound (Whole making a AI know how an actual human looks like and such) lol, it is mainly just feeding AI TONS of text, depending of which it will be aimed at that specific task. There are instruct models, conversation models, novel-writing models, roleplay models and such.
Neuro-sama seems to be a basic Local Large Language Model trained by Vedal for conversation with some roleplay on it (At least he makes it sound like he did train her own model? Probably using data from another model). And probably around 7b? 8b? (Which, to have a comparison point, Chat-GPT is rumored to be a 150B or something model, and GPT-4 the current peak of AI is rumored to be Multiple big Language models running in sync)
So basically very light, maybe filled in with some VTUBER stuff in some way? It can forget very obvious things or lose itself mid convo and begin to hallucinate even if her context size is high, which smaller models tend to do. It also definitively cannot distinguish chat from Vtuber(Lily, vedal, etc) even if she does knows who Lily or vedal are, which is why she sometimes will call someone she is colabing with 'Chat'. Neuro-sama seems kinda bad for what can be achieved today in LLM's and what could be achieved in a month (You may be surprised, but this is a VERY RAPIDLY developing field)
So in resume: Some of the quirks and janks of Neuro-sama come down to probably being a very basic If old model. Which, It's still really surprising considering Vedal runs long streams, while running Neuro's model, while running things like her vtuber model, her tts, the filter and sometimes even playing games! All that in just one PC? Would love to see what he could do in a year or two with a separate beefy PC for her own Model.

About the social anxiety on collabing. From my point of view, experiences and told experiences, it's all about that 1 on 1. When you are reading text you disassociate from reality, but when you are having an active conversation then all kinds of issues come up in your mind and you start blocking yourself. Kind of like when you are meeting someone new and you have anxiety issues, at first you are very shy/timid, but once you start getting used to acostumed with the other person then you start loosening yourself up and talking more openly. People, especially vtubers, with anxiety are often mistaken with kind of outgoing people when they are witnessed hanging out with their besties (happened to me way too many times in vrchat until my anxiety was finally cured interacting with so many random people) but in reality they are a ball of nerves when it is about meeting new people, and even worse when the fact that other people is there watching you dawns on you (in my case was still small lobbies of maybe 10 to 20 people, so i can't imagine knowing there will be hundreds or thousands of people watching you interact with someone new while remembering to try an be yourself and entertain chat)

I'm just using a Vtuber model on my gaming channel because I think the technology behind it is fun. That's why I love playing around with AI and stuff too, I'm just a fascinated cave person that discovered fire.
im curious why your model kept dying the entire vid, too close or too far from the camera? glasses? maybe hair covering parts of your face? or just buggy program?

I've been actually creating and messing around with ai (chatbots) giving them personality traits etc.
they are/can be pretty human, some are/can be even more human than some actual humans i talked to before.
biggest issue for me is the memory. the ai's i worked with couldnt remember after "refresh" so they didnt have long term memory.
thanks for your question. i recently upgraded to a new camera that a fan got me from throne, it's called the razor kiyo pro. much higher quality than my last cam, but it randomly isn't able to detect my face consistently in vtube studio. according to a reddit thread it could be a few things:
• the software that the cam comes with, razor synapse, trying to use the webcam at the same time as another program like obs or vtube studio is, causing temporary disconnection (the program has been buggy for me, not launching when I ask it to unless i kill multiple instances of it in task manager and summon it again)
• hardware issues like the USB port being used is bugging out and you need to use another or plug in / plug out once per boot (i have to do this with my audio interface to stop a weird noise from occuring, so very possible)
• something else like a defective cam
gonna run tests to eliminate the above possibilities, but sometimes recording a video is the only way to see how things behave in the context i want. it shows up as "usb device" on my pc rather than the camera's full name, which is definitely sus, the PC clearly isn't recognizing it correctly. i have tech help i can reach out to though, so it should be resolved soon!

I know a big portion of nueros training data came from vedal987 live stream chats when he used to solo stream. I also know he trains her during the just chatting streams. I believe not so much during gaming or collaboration streams since there is more background things he has to keep an eye on but that last part is speculation; he does primarily train her using twitch chat and filters.
I think it was said that Neuro was trained in Anny's streams

I suppose it would depend on how you define being alive? If you define being alive as when you became aware and able to react and make your own choices then yes AIs have the ability to be immortal being even more so for the human level or higher bots. If you define being alive as having some organic function that is happening like a heartbeat or breathing, etc then no they wouldn't be alive in the first place and there for not able to be immortal. Personally I agree more with the first option.
