I had that same pack for 2 years, and have worn it almost every day. I was pretty happy, but it was a little too small, so I have switched to a bigger bag now. But all in all the Dust is a good bag.
This is a great video from prepper but I had already purchased mine after watching Lilly's video, and she is far prettier than the prepper, strength and honour.
As I await news in Florida for impending hurricane Irma I am reflecting on my preps and wether or not my family and I ready to handle the disaster. I just really wanted to take a moment to thank you because it has been your videos that started me on my journey to be more prepared
Subscribed! You do some of the best videos of gear on UA-cam. I really appreciate the fact that you actually USE and TEST all the gear! It makes a big difference when deciding what will work for me. Great video, thank you!
I absolutely love bags, packs, pouches, crates, cans and all sorts of compartmentalization products and various containers. Organization is paramount in keeping a smooth operation. The only problem is the lack of gear to fill each and every one of these things. It's an addiction. Keep up the good work my friend.
I've just started building my own medical and trauma kit and your videos have really inspired me and gave me a lot of great ideas on what to put in my bag
I knew NOTHING about backpacks until I started watching sootch00 and SensiblePrepper. I don't need anything this rugged, but thanks to you I have found a GetHomeBag that I can carry comfortably and which happily, I could afford!
I have two Gen 1 Ghosts and a Gen II Dragon's Egg, and they're probably the best packs I have. The Ghosts are configured as get-home bags for each of the cars, while the Dragon's Egg is becoming my daily use EDC pack. What I really like about them is that there is very little wasted space on the panels; there are pockets, pouches, mesh keepers, and such, so you have options. I've never warmed to Maxpedition, mostly because the material is just too stiff and I feel like the pack is making me work how it wants rather than me making the pack work how I want. Great review! It's nice to see more reviews of Direct Action's products.
Direct Action Gear used to be owned by Helikon-Tex. That's why this old logo with a cameleon is on it. The Dust v2 has their new own logo. I own the Dragon Egg, Ghost and messenger bag. Awesome quality and the best bang for your buck compared to Maxpedition. Greetings from Holland!
Nice looking pack and great video as always. I was curious if you have or could do a video on an urban EDC/Survival if say something were to happen while you were in town/city and had no access to get to your vehicle to get home.. And had to hunker down in the concrete jungle... thanks for the good videos God Bless
Have the Dragon Egg by these guys and I love it! Actually just bought the Dust because they have some epic sales going on with some of their camo colors, but not the solid ones. I think they're trying to get rid of stock, but I paid $69 for the woodland camo and I'm pumped, haha.
Its a waterproof capsule that can attach to MOLLE webbing/panels. Spelled "thyrum" and I personally use them to store batteries and will be getting a nice orange one to put some fire-starting stuff in.
@ SensiblePrepper are you going to have a look at DA tactical gear like the platecarrier or chest rig? The Pencott patterns are also very neat. What do you think about them? I have had the Ghost pack for nearly two years. It's a very sturdy, enduring and well proportioned pack. DA manufactures great stuff. Very popular over in Europe.
I checked out their packs from the link nice stuff there my question is is where did you find that tiny flashlight? I've been looking for one preferably with a hole to attach it to the inside my bag or to clip on my shirt on a retractable lanyard.
ScottyM1959 check out the stream light nano really good interior pack light I have them in a lot of my gear. The price is really good to,I think like 9.00 but don't quote me on that. You can find them on Amazon.
That style of back has been common on a lot of backpacking packs like Kelty, Osprey, and the like for a while. Would like to see more "tactical" company incorporate into their designs.
#SensiblePrepper Is the sternum strap removable? I know you said the waist strap can at least hide away, which is good. Just curious, because those can get annoying for EDC use.
Haven't been able to check out a video from you in a while. Dig the mustache and the new intro. It's very Fred Penner. I mean that with all respect. Take care.
I like the look of this bag. A little small for me and seems to be a little on the expensive side for a 20L pack. Or I could just be super cheap. Either way great review.
I like it, but I don't like it. It's a beautiful backpack, but they're also $150 on Amazon. I have a North Face Recon pack that I've been using for around 3 years, and it only cost me about $60. It's about the same size as this, and I can put everything in it that I want. I guess the issue that I'm getting at is why pay so much for a backpack when I could get a very good one for less than half the price?
When I bought mine last year, it was actually cheaper to buy them directly from Direct Action's website. Right now though, they have awesome discounts on a lot of their camo patterns only, so they might be trying to clear out inventory.
"I like to call it kiss my butt pack." what was originally you where going to call it,"Dirt Bag."......lol.😄 And I enjoyed watching your reviews and I look forward for more reviews.....keep up the good work🇺🇸
ok I got to ask Don....... How many bags do you have? I'll bet the Mrs rolls her eyes when another bag comes through the door. unless you hide them. shhhhh Have a Jesus filled day Greg in Michigan
Their products are outsorced to China. They only have a few mag pouches and i believe the plate carrier made in Poland. The parent company used to be Helikon Tex (they make awesome products, but made in China and Vietnam)
I have the Ghost by Direct Action. I love it. Great company.
Good to hear. Thanks
I also own the Direct Action Ghost, its a solid backpack. 10/10
SensiblePrepper Is there a comparison to the LA Police Gear Atlas?
I had that same pack for 2 years, and have worn it almost every day. I was pretty happy, but it was a little too small, so I have switched to a bigger bag now. But all in all the Dust is a good bag.
Survival Lilly I been there.
Direct Action Dragon Egg.
Medium size (25L)..
However, i more prefer to Dust..
Great EDC..
Regard's from Poland!
This is a great video from prepper but I had already purchased mine after watching Lilly's video, and she is far prettier than the prepper, strength and honour.
Which bag do you have now?
As I await news in Florida for impending hurricane Irma I am reflecting on my preps and wether or not my family and I ready to handle the disaster. I just really wanted to take a moment to thank you because it has been your videos that started me on my journey to be more prepared

One of the best intros I've seen so far sootch
Thanks Brother!

Great review! It's nice to see more reviews of Direct Action's products.
Love you vids. You do some great reviews on bags and I am a bag gurl. Never heard of Direct Action and I really like this bag.
That was a very well put together video. Props man 👌
Well done sir.. Good music... Its. like watching a movie and review all in one.. I really like your videos. Keep up the good work.
I love watching your videos. It's great to see a fellow patriot. God bless!
The organisation are very well made on this bag

The Green Zone camo they do looks real good thank you for the video.
Beard suits you man, I love you gear reviews and item hacks (not really the fully prepper vids but hey that's just my personal taste)

Where?!
@@corycat7705 This was 4 years ago on the Direct Action Gear website, lol
Like the intro music...very "Ireland--y" LOL
Really great review brother! Thank you.
Neat, thanks for the review! I'll probably get their waist pack soon, can be a good solid "1st layer of gear" for the GHB!
Hey Sootch forgive my ignorance but what is a Thirum capsule? Shown at 3:30 in the video. Thanks.
Its a waterproof capsule that can attach to MOLLE webbing/panels. Spelled "thyrum" and I personally use them to store batteries and will be getting a nice orange one to put some fire-starting stuff in.
thyrm.com/product/cell-vault-battery-storage/
Keep up the great work can't wait for the next vid
Nice pack I'll have to check them out another informative video thanks!!
I have an olive dust and badlands dragon egg. Two of my best bags ever. Bombproof without the 1000 denier stiffness which I hate.
Aaron Bueno usually the dust for edc since its smaller but depends what you like to carry
Aaron Bueno it's perfect for that
The dragon egg is legit as well. Took that hiking through green mountain falls in colorado and beat the tar out of it...still looks new
I can't get enough of your channel :)

i went to their site and the largest pack is 25L. am i missing something? I like the small pack but in the market for a larger BOB.
Does it have a pocket for a camel back or a port for the hose?
Yes, it has a water bladder pocket. Yes, it has a hole at the top of the pack for the hose.
Prepared Grunt I see video but didn't follow
One of my favorite packs another great video sensibleprepper
I have the Dust in gray. Love it.
What is the theorem capsule??
That style of back has been common on a lot of backpacking packs like Kelty, Osprey, and the like for a while. Would like to see more "tactical" company incorporate into their designs.
Looks like a really nice back pack!
ive got that logo on a couple of items i own by a brand called Helikon-Tex,
also made in Poland, am assuming there is a connection,
What is the capsule you carry on the outside of the bag?
Direct action gear and its sister company (Chamelion logo) are quite underrated.
great review and great pack. can't help to ask: what's with the 'stache sootch?
Hi sir, its a very good review, but where is it made ?
nice video Sootch :) can i ask you about the name of the FAK pouche ? and do you have a review on it ?
thank you
Would this make for a good 1-3 day bug out Bag???
It is 20 litres, so maybe this one is better for EDC. I think the Dragon Egg (25 litres) by Direct Action would be a better BOB.
#SensiblePrepper Is the sternum strap removable? I know you said the waist strap can at least hide away, which is good. Just curious, because those can get annoying for EDC use.
What is the music at the beginning of the video? I like it
Love the intro music!!!
Great video. What model of AR, are you using.
what did you use for the intro and outro songs?
props to the ren fair music
What's the title or the name of the music?
Haven't been able to check out a video from you in a while. Dig the mustache and the new intro. It's very Fred Penner. I mean that with all respect. Take care.
where did you get those sunglasses from? I love em.
I like the look of this bag. A little small for me and seems to be a little on the expensive side for a 20L pack. Or I could just be super cheap. Either way great review.
I thought I saw this vid before, but evidently not. I like the bag. Small but very inclusive.
Hello, I'm from Argentina, I wanted to consult you about your weapon, how much does it cost there?
As a broke gear queer, I'll give you my professional opinion that it's about $1500
Im liking the stache
Thanks David
Thanks Sootch.
Number 5?
ThroesOfTheFall... Number 1.5?
For those who care, Direct Action manufactures all their gear overseas, their packs are made in Vietnam.
I like it, but I don't like it. It's a beautiful backpack, but they're also $150 on Amazon. I have a North Face Recon pack that I've been using for around 3 years, and it only cost me about $60. I'm digging the hulk Hogan style moustache 😉 🇺🇸
LMAO I love the cheesy Rambo intro.
Great Company & Not that BullShit BlackHawk gear. Polish company making gear for guys on the Front Line...I'm Sold.
Their products are outsorced to China. They only have a few mag pouches and i believe the plate carrier made in Poland. The parent company used to be Helikon Tex (they make awesome products, but made in China and Vietnam)
Ciprian M Interesting...Pretty much what I bought...tags made in Poland...Good looking out on the rest of there gear.
Fu-manchu, biker Sootch. Limited edition in 2017! Watch yours today!
Your music to speech audio bias is way off
Nice stache lol
Any backpack, no matter how well made that can not hold a laptop, is not going to stand for long
